  1. Dude.. Why are you starting an argument over something you (obviously) know nothing about? Your an idiot... Also, my point is that many people do not have temp controlled irons.. Go buy a non temp controlled iron, let it heat up and measure what the temperature is at the tip, wise-guy.... As far as you building lots of apple 2 crap... Good for you... Ive been building & repairing PCBs since the 80s... non-stop.. I think I know what temperature ranges will/won't cause problems.. I was not wanting to start an argument, as you can tell by my first statement. I was just disagreeing with you. You are the one that started the name calling.
  2. I respectfully disagree. Not on the quality of the boards in question, but in the statement of soldering technique. I produce a lot of new components (boards) for the Apple II line of computers and my digital soldering station is NEVER set higher than 400 degrees. I can't even fathom using a 900 degree iron on anything electronic. Even the boards that have components populated by factories are only soldered at 375 degrees.
  3. Bump... Still looking for this. Which 1mb memory expansion would be the most completely compatible for all programs?
  4. Maybe it was misspelled or not correctly phrased and it didn't show up in the search. Try reading all the pages and see if you find it. I did not do a 'search' for it, I went through the entire forum, page by page. It took me the better part of a week to do it.
  5. Have you had any luck at digging these out yet?
  6. I have spent the last week searching through the entire AtariAge forum, all 154 pages of it, looking for a do-it-yourself XEGS 128K mod. Although there are several links to this Mod, the pages are no longer there and can not even be pulled up by the WayBack Machine. My goal is to have a XEGS compatable with a 130XE. I know the 'Kit' is sold by several suppliers, but I really want to build it myself. Does anyone have the instructions for this and parts list? By the way, several of my 'stupid questions' were answered by searching this site.
  7. How you did this, I would really like to see. It might even encourage me to make my own MyIDE. I understand how to do the hard wire part of the project, but the ROM and switching I definitely could be enlightened on.
  8. Here is my first mod to my newly acquired Atari XE. I desoldered the ROM to prepare for a MyIDE adapter.
  9. Is there a cross reference chart some where that tells which carts will work with what machines? Like 5200-XE.
