  1. The thing is Ralph absolutely hates when he finds out stuff he signed was just so it could be put on Ebay. His intent is for fans/personal collections only. Not profiteers like this.

I know he was mad that i bought games signed by him. But i didnt buy them because they were signed i just wanted them. Signed is a bonus.

Sorry, but why exactly would anyone want a bunch of Odyssey games with the connectors coated in what is likely a corrosive substance from a Sharpie? Why didn't you just have Mr. Baer sign a separate piece of paper or maybe the outer shipping box or something? Also, why would anyone want all the games signed? I still can't understand why you were even involved in the original transaction and how you didn't just get the games sold directly to your friend instead of running them through this middle man profiteer. Finally, nobody is ever going to pay $7,000 for that set, particularly since many of those games aren't even in mint condition. As far as I'm concerned, these signed carts are worth less to me and probably most collectors than a true mint set.

Its hard to explain the situation. The person buying them was a good friend of his who fixed my odyssey. He didnt have the money at the moment and i was trying to be nice. Teaches me doesnt it! I should have bought them myself. As for signed game carts they are just interesting. I highly doubt sharpie will do any long term damage to the cards. The reason i dont have most of mine signed is the fact that i like to play them. I do have the ultra rare nr12 signed. Do you really think that the sharpie could damage the games?

    I like it though.

And I know noone will buy them its just the deception that makes me so mad

I know for a fact Sharpie can damage metal. It contains sulfur and other chemical compounds which are known to be corrosive to metal surfaces. In fact, aerospace contractors for the government generally have rules in place for their engineers banning Sharpies from manufacturing areas for this very reason. There are companies which sell very expensive non-corrosive permanent markers for use on metal.

I dont think im too worried. I asked David Winter and he said it wont damage these carts. Either way thats not the point. Its the fact that collectors who love the system will want these but not at 1500 a game. He is out of his mind

Then he lies and says there are only 3 sets. This definately isnt true. I know of at least one here on these forums and 3 on the retro roundtable forums. I know david winter has a set and another collector in europe. That makes a minimum of 6.

  4. I was the one that tracked down and found these games. I found them for him because he was going to sell them cheap to a friend that fixed my odyssey for me. He paid 900 with shipping for the set. the signed games he Bought from Ulf Svensson for no more than 150. He had the full set of 11 signed but i have 9 10 and 12 in my personal collection. He is just greedy. Even on his own sales he charges 3000 for the games of 73 600 for 72 and 50 for percepts. Baer is awesome but not worth 3400 for his signed games.

I like the games being signed but im also going to have him sign my odyssey. But unlike this guy its for my personal collection

  5. Dont be surprised that he won. He wins them all. He is sitting on way too many. And i agree with the point to leave him alone but because of his greed noone else can get one at a reasonable price. Free will also equals our right to Complain about it

You/we have a right, but it doesn't help anything.

i do agree but hopefully through education the market will be fixed. The prices i have to pay to aqcuire odyssey stuff kinda makes me mad. Oh well. Like i said he has every legal right to do it but i still say its ethically wrong. But to each their own

  7. I know where you get your info because you got it from me. And what private sale exactly sold for $200. I keep pretty close track of some of these things. I know one just sold for $150, but to who? The item isnt worth a starting bid of $300.

The information i got from the seller who told me they were going to throw it in the trash but "Someone" offered them $150 in cash.

David winters quote of 250 is for one in mint condition. Not in this condition.

Pray tell Who told you to put it with a case? Me Correct. I do know what im talking about

  8. they look a little different but they do work the same. Ill keep my eyes out and try to find you a switch box

By the way this auction is at 107.50. Wow its a 1973 unit. its barely worth that complete in its box ha ha

Thanks for keeping an eye out.

This auction makes me feel a little better about the 50 I spent on mine a few years ago. The only things mine is missing is the football yardage marker, the actual football looking piece, the dice, and a couple poker chips.

Ya thats a good price. I paid $100 fo mine. Missing a few things but had percepts. I since completed it. For around $500 I have a 100% CIB odyssey, case, Shooting gallery(which is missing stuff), 6 games of 72 complete in shipping box, and some other neat things like nr12 and the 75 service manual

  9. Oh look what a miracle suprise Dick won this one too. And at a personally rdiculous price to begin with. At least he diddnt get it super cheap. What an ass. And look in the last 5 seconds. he once told me he would bump the bid up like $100 in the last second to gaurentee a win. And in this case for one that wont bring much profit. Even if he completes it it has no inspection card with it so it lowers the value. this guy just wants noone to have them but his

  11. He has also moved on ROBs and yes the 2600, mainly he heavys. I mean he even wants 900 for the odysssey 100-500. Something loose i think. Vectrexs are even worse. They show up even less often than the odysseys and he is always on top of those. Its a little rediculous. Whats even more upsetting is he isnt even a collector. He doesnt care about the systems only money. Its sad really

  12. Thats what im saying. I used to be friends with him and he sent me a picture of his stock. He has a REDICULOUS amount of pongs and odysseys. Its messed up. But still look at all the ones selling now and he is bidding on them all. I wish people would stop buying from him. Mayber he'd learn

  13. Not my auction but not a bad price if someone wants some odyssey peices. its a 1973 unit from the serial number the seller gave me. Thought id throw it out there for someone missing any of these peices

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 3101967418941?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=310196741894&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

Assuming someone besides 'he who shall remain namless' can win it.... :ponder:

Well Hopefully someone here can win it. That other guy is an ass. If nothing else maybe his price will get bumped up. Ha Ha. If we cant get things at good prices neither should he

  14. i agree but because he is a selfish ass noone can get odyssey stuff at a reasonable price. He is sitting on litterly 30 or so systems and now people who want to add it to their colelction for a reasonable price . I agree its capitalism but we are also free to complain about it.

Luckily he misses one every now and again. Still its bull
