Almost every antivirus vendor has a method of reporting suspected false-positives, either via the program GUI or a website.  I recommend people like us familiarize ourselves with the process as this is going to get worse before it gets better, especially for unsigned software.

I've done this with malwarebytes many times..

@jedimatt42 It has been a while since i've seen a update available for tipi. Would i be correct in assuming that aside from fixing possible bugs and/or supporting newer Pi models, you don't really intend to update the Pi side software of tipi anytime soon?

Honestly, tipi has pretty much everything i could ask for from a user standpoint, so i'd totally get it if you are "done" with it for a while.

Updates are usually for reasons.. if you see no issues, there's no reasons :)

Yes it has to be some issue with the router.. I went ahead and tinkered with pinging and trying to fiddle with my router settings.  I did finally succeed in getting my TIPI to ping through my ethernet cable after setting my router's firewall settings from medium to low (no off setting)... I was also able to finally access my TIPI's files through a web browser and successfully transferred Stuart's Web Browser to it.

However, this is only through a physical ethernet connection.  Otherwise I still have the same issues with wifi.  Not only that, but I still cannot access actual webpages like whtech or myti99.com by any means at this point.  When I try to use the web browser and type in a lowercase webpage I get the message "Error - no valid markup found on page."  The weird thing is that when I tried to access the "COMBATTI" page from typing it in through BASIC i was able to access  it but can't go further because I haven't been able to create an account on the main site.  Trying to access the main myti99 page through BASIC actually just reboots the machine... so not sure what to think since some things seem to be working, and some don't.

My router is an Inseego FG2000-3 provided through US Cellular.  I have not added anything to the TIPI or the Pi except for the image file and the web browser files up to this point and have not added any additional security/firewall settings.

wow.. Ok so all your issues are your network and have nothing to do with TIPI..  you say something about the guest network vs the lan, the issue there is entirely that guest is isolated from the local equipment

you need to be on the same network for it to work.. you need to be able to connect to the device to use it.. :)

Rather than polluting the eBay thread, what would be the best way to backup 80+ floppies please?

Attached to my TI (other than real floppy drives) I have a TIPI, Gotek & IDE

Just create folders and copy files using Force Command? Use a disk manager?

    Any thoughts please?

    Many thanks

I tend to use DSK2PC and a hdx setup.. but it's kinda slow .. makes a nice dsk file though as a result..

Best to just copy them to TIPI folders for whatever doesn't need sector copy.

Alternatively a greaseweazle board on the PC with a 360k drive is a great fast way to image disks.  they would go into hfe format then need to be converted to dsk v9t9 format files after that

Tried both ways without any success.  Today when I attempted it I got a Run Windows Diagnostic box so went ahead and ran it to see what it said.

First it says: "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection. "

Then when that text is highlighted it says: "The device or resource (IP Address) is not set up to accept connections on port "The file and printer sharing (SMB)".

From the command prompt I get the following when typing in ping (ip address):  reply from (ip address): destination port unreachable

when typing ping tipi: reply from (ip address): destination port unavailable

ping tipi.local gives a "could not find host"

After running the sudo systemctl command I received the following:  WARNING: terminal is not fully functional - (press RETURN) Unit TIPI.service could not be found

I feel like it is probably something simple I have overlooked or failed to do, but having gone over things multiple times I am probably missing the forest for the trees so to speak 😅

Thanks for all your help guys!

Ok this tells me your network is not allowing connections between the devices.. this is either your router/ap settings OR you have done something on the PI to restrict connections like adding a firewall or security settings..

What router do you have?  Is it set to isolate devices?  are you doing this ping on ethernet or wifi?  some routers isolate wifi devices from each other

Note that JS99er doesn't emulate the X or G modes.

To actually emulate the FinalGROM there would need to be a way to insert an (emulated) SD card into the cartridge. One reason for adding a full emulation would be to emulate the  reloading feature, but AFAIK nobody has developed any software using that.

    Force command uses it

    Hi 9640News,

I accessed my router through its mobile app and yes I am able to see the Pi in both WiFi and Ethernet cable.  The Wifi connection shows up as "Unknown", but provides an IP address and appears to be working normally.  The Ethernet connection shows up as "tipi" and possesses a different IP. I have tried using the Ethernet IP when trying to access the Pi but getting the same result unfortunately.

on your pc in a cmd prompt can you ping the ip address?  ping x.x.x.x  is the command replacing the x with the ip address numbers

if that works try ping tipi   and ping tipi.local

Ah, my second post on Atari Age.. of course it's a "Help Me!" message 😆

First I will address what appears to be my biggest hurdles at the moment.  Second, I will go over my setup, etc. to help perhaps point out any issues that may be a result of user error or otherwise.

My two main issues are that I cannot transfer files to my TIPI/Raspberry Pi, and the other issue is that I cannot seem to access certain sites while others seem okay.

I followed jedimatt's wiki tutorial for the setup of the TIPI and everything seems to boot up and run okay.  I also used ArcadeShopper's youtube video and other Atari Age/TI99 resources to set up my Wifi, etc.

My WiFi is connected and appears to work fine.  I can also access "MYTI99.COM" but only the login page or various game start screens since I need an account set up and can't set that up until I get the web browser working.  I have tried accessing the "WHTECH" site to load the "DM2K" program, but all I ever get is a solid blue screen.  When I try to access the TIPI from a Windows Computer, my access is either denied or some other issue.  Despite those issues, I have no problem accessing and connecting to "TELNET".

A little bit more about my setup:  I am using a TIPI PEB from The Brewing Academy, a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, Sandisk 64GB Extreme Ultra Micro SD Card.  I have a working PEB and working SAMS 1mb card and a FinalGrom 99.  I made sure to always power down the Pi appropriately, and my TIPI PEB has been updated to version 3.25 once I was able to connect to WiFi.  I also expanded my SD card on my initial start up through the "TELNET" program.

From my descriptions can anybody suggest what the issue might be?  Thank you very much in advance for you time, suggestions, and input!

CALL TIPI and note the IP ADDRESS and the DSR DATE also make sure you have done any updates

on your pc go to file browser and type in the ip address or tipi or tipi.local   try all 3.. its all dependant on how your network is configured and your router

what is the date of your DSR?

DM2K had an issue loading from CALL TIPI at one point but I want to say it was resolved with the latest versions of everything.

Thank you.  Instead of ignoring the send, can you hold the send until the connection is established?  Or is that a silly question within the context of an emulated machine.  The scenario might be something to ask @ jedimatt42 about, after you check into it.  I'll review the GPL file loading and other reset-related scenarios sometime this week and report what I find.

this is how the hardware works.. any sending to the pi hangs until a response

Just as the title says, looking for the cartridge version of "Attack Of The Creepers" for my FinalGrom 99.  I have been searching for a while now.  I have found the game on TI Shelf, but not the format I am looking for.  I have also found the author's games on 99er.net official but no luck getting it to work.  I have also scoured the internet and have come across some MEGA packs by TMOP and a couple other collections but no luck finding a working cartridge binary of the game.  Apparently there is a 1.5 version of the game and a 1.6.  1.5 is supposed to be a cart version, and 1.6 a disk version.

I have gotten the game to work through win994a emulation, but would like to get the game working on real hardware.  Would anybody in this forum know of, or have, a working cartridge binary of this game?

Just a heads up I do have a SAMS 1mb PEB card and a TIPI PEB Card, but would like to get as many games in cart binary working as possible.  Thanks everyone for your time!

PS: I have been rummaging through this site and forums for a few years now (for multiple game systems) and have gotten some great information and games/files over that time.  Figured it was time that I finally make myself official and put myself out there.  This is a great community and I look forward to enjoying it for many years to come!

fyi all the original carts for the finalgrom are at ftp.whtech.com under cartridges in the finalgrom99.zip..  why look anywhere else

Hi, Mole!  Bringing this into this conversation from the other (older thread) I'd posted in before.

Yeah, the game runs fine on my real hardware (from FinalGrom), noting I have no F18A in real life (I really, really wish that they were available, or even better, that the gen 2 version was available, but so far, they're sort of like unicorns or pretty virgins... )

On Classic99, with F18A (partial) support enabled, I get the funky graphics I saw earlier.  This is what I see:

    1.bmp 165.78 kB · 8 downloads

And Classic99 locks up... I need to do a hard reboot.

If I disable F18A support in Classic99, everything works fine, albeit obviously in the somewhat less pretty 9918 mode.

I don't have TI MAME or MESS emulation running locally, and I'm not really familiar with JS99, either...  I have PC99, Classic99, TI994W, v9t9, and Win994a...  but it seems I'm behind the times where the "emulation community" is doing things these days, huh?  And among my choices, only Classic99 has F18A support (which USUALLY works quite well, but according to Tursi himself is not a "complete" implementation).

So, what I'm picking up here is that if I ever manage to get my hands on an F18A (hopefully gen2, but gen1 would be nice, too!) upgrade, the BIN file I've been playing with ought to work properly... right?  And apparently, running in JS99 or MAME would be workable as well.

I have f18a MK1s in stock. FYI I intend on stocking them as long as there's demand in the MK2 hasn't come out then I'll be stocking the MK2.. and I wouldn't expect it for quite a while
