  1. That would be ideal but my guess is that it’s just part of the artwork. Watch when the first game is over and the guy presses different fire buttons to return to the skill select screen and then to make a choice.
  2. By the way, how are these games going to be bought, if not with money that you don't have?
  3. All the more reason to release the Kraken… err rom image for a small sum or free. Both games aren’t the types of games that are highly sought after so a physical cart/CIB offering just isn’t worth it and a rom purchase wouldn’t generate much unless priced right for those that like to have everything.
  4. A necro-bump!!! Seeing as AtariAge will probably never do anything with these games, even for purchase as a rom image download, is there any hope that these can be switched to another CV publisher or the roms for Acromage and Jewel Panic made available?
  5. Man, you are digging deep into old threads on here! Nice job on the Epyx box although ColecoVision should be changed to Coleco as we are dealing solely with and ADAM program on DDP/Disk.
  6. Thanks for the link. As far as Easter Eggs go, I think War Room takes the cake !!!
  7. Probably better to use a spray paint that adheres well to plastic if you still want to offer ADAM beige.
  8. So many “Could of, should of, would of” and “What Ifs” when it comes to discussions like this. Perhaps if the ADAM never came to be and Coleco’s sole focus in the electronics field was the ColecoVision, they could have weathered the VG Crash seeing how well the CV was selling for them and outside of a few companies releasing bad games, the quality of the games was improving by leaps and bounds. Perhaps Nintendo does not release the Famicom / NES in the U.S. or maybe they work with Coleco for them to be the U.S. distributor or maybe the Famicom is rebranded as the ColecoVision 2. Perhaps Sega doesn’t release the SG-1000 in Japan but becomes Coleco’s distributor of the ColecoVision in Japan. Etc., Etc., Etc. It is fun to consider all the possibilities.
  9. Exactly. Unless someone has a time machine, no list will be accurate but one can get it fairly close to be accurate. Another problem are the numerous releases by CBS, Bit Corp. and TeleGames. They should all count and be included in the list and if that is the case then Boulder Dash is the last cartridge based game released for the ColecoVision before the Homebrew community’s first release which was Kevtris in 1996.
  10. Greeting programmer! Since Marcel hasn't been involved in a LONG time, your next best option to find any pertinent info would be the tech files that Micro Innovations shared with the community and most include source code. Here's a direct link to the proper directory on The ADAM Archive: (AdamArchive.Org) - The home for everything ADAM
  11. I recommend just using the proper sized disk/disk image in the specifically configured drive/drive size in T-DOS and also CP/M patched with ADAM Bios Patch (ABP). BitD when I made a T-DOS disk with the system installed on it, I would list out the drives and their sizes on the disk label or sleeve so as to avoid any of these maddening issues.
  12. Thanks for this incredible update to ColecoDS and for spending so much time on it's continued development and improvement.
  13. Sorry, I got nothing for you as this is far beyond my pay grade. it’s odd that there wouldn’t be an obvious answer in the ADAMem source code especially since CP/M works quite well in it. Perhaps send Geoff Oltmans a message on here or the ADAM FB Group. The problem definitely isn’t the difference in what block on the media the EOS directory is placed compared to what block on the CP/M media as the CP/M BIOS probably handles that. Extra RAM, up to 64K that CP/M can recognize and use as a RamDISK, should not be an issue… as you have found. Only 160K disk images are compatible with the original CP/M. Try upgrading a vanilla version of CP/M with ABP (Adam Bios Patch) to make CP/M compatible with larger memory expanders and larger sized disk images. I put together a disk image for the ADAM Archive with all the versions of ABP that I could find. ABP was the beginning of T-DOS but without all the extra bells and whistles of T-DOS and some of the incompatibilities between these two OS choices. If an patched version of CP/M fixes the issue, then we are a big step closer to figuring out what the issue is in ColecoDS. Probably best to use ADAMem DOS or SDL to upgrade CP/M with ABP, test and then copy to the SD card and try with ColecoDS.
  14. 70% should not be used as there is too much water in it. Use at least 90% isopropyl alcohol. If you have another system or ADAM, you need to test on them to know for sure if the cartridge is really the issue. Both if those games should not be adversely affected by a CV system that has an issue with the ground plane… check that there is a screw just above the cartridge connector on the CV PCB. This screw is one of the screws that secured the CV PCB as well as functions as a ground. If all else fails, there have been a number of issues with CollectorVision carts malfunctioning on one system but working on another and I’m sure they test them when manufactured, but no idea if they check them before shipping.
  15. These work great! 8 Bit Milli Games Power Ring
  16. Good luck with the CP/M 3 bring up. What is more interesting to me in the pic provided is your personal version of GearADAM. Nice!!!
  17. CVBasic is just a compiler that will compile a Basic language file (*.bas) that was created with an Editor such as Notepad into an Assembly listing (*.asm) which can then be assembled into ColecoVision cartridge format using tniASM that can then be used in emulators or a real CV / ADAM.
  18. I don’t think the executable that is available on the GearColeco site has been updated to include the latest additions which include SGM support… the source files have. Check out this thread that includes a more recent executable build that was cobbled together by Crazy Cozmos:
  19. I think you are correct and the ADAM Final Test is another good one to use that provides a little more detail than ADAM Diagnostic. if you can’t figure out how to get ADAM Diagnostic working on a MegaCart PCB, you could use a standard Homebrew 32K Cart PCB or use the version of it that is available on disk image that is in The ADAM Archive if you can transfer it back to an ADAM disk or have an SD Drive solution. Check out the disk images named ADAM Utilities.
  20. No idea but you might want to try Gamma Debug as it provides much more detail on individual chips rather than the simple PASS/FAIL messages provided by ADAM Diagnostic which aren’t much help in figuring out what any system issue might be. IIRC the Gamma Debug rom image is only 8K.
  21. With the original rom image that you posted… I experienced the garbled screen bug almost immediately when using CoolCV. However, after a long play using GearColeco (the latest build posted in another thread by Captain Cosmos), it played perfectly. Didn’t test on a real CV or ADAM.
  22. I watched A LOT of porn.
  23. The information to access and use the ADAM Soeech Synthesizer is available on Eric Pearson’s GitHub page. 8-Bit Milli wrote a demo rom image to test it the day that he received his and shortly after released another demo rom image that recites London Bridge. Since then, all his cartridge/rom images support the speech synthesizer.
  24. April 1994 was indeed the last newsletter. The owner of NIAD (as well as the computer store that was closed over a year earlier) did mail out a letter to the remaining members, but I do not have that.
