  1. The schematics for the original Odyssey are available online as are the schematics for the Oydssey2. However, I can't find schematics for the Odyssey 100-5000 systems. I'm not sure if my google fu is failing me or if this information really has been lost. If you have any knowledge on where any of these might be found then please let me know. I'm planning on starting several projects with the Odyssey systems and while the original machine should keep me busy for a while, I figured that I should probably think ahead to see what's available for the dedicated machines.

  3. Is this another Magnavox Odyssey homebrew? If so can you give some details on it? Is there a thread for expressing interest in a copy?
  4. Figured I might as well update the list: Released Homebrews: Odball by Revrob Mentis Cohorts by Revrob (I know there's been a dispute about people not getting this one. Did anyone actually get a copy?) Red vs Blue by Revrob Dodgeball by Atariland2600 Odyssey Evil by ManCaveArcade Captain Bruce by Atariland2600 Unreleased Homebrews: Hunting Adventure by ManCaveArcade (Announced in 2013 No news since 2015. Cancelled?) Lava Monster by TheMichaelLant (Announced in 2014. No news since 2015. Cancelled?) Hadeaus War by djfurreh (Announced in 2015. Confirmed Pending in April 2017 - Unknown release date) Soccer by Uppy (Announced in 2015. Confirmed Pending in April 2017 - Unknown release date)
  5. I just got a PM from djfurreh. He said that he is still working on this. He's hit some production snags with the box and other things, but he's committed to finishing the project.
  6. I just got a PM from Uppy. He had some delays due to some things coming up in his life, but he still does intend to produce this.
  7. Hi, I just wanted to check on the status of this project, since I haven't heard anything in a while.
  8. I thought that I'd enquire about the state of this one since I haven't heard anything in a while.

  10. Yeah, Size D Vellum exists, which would be big enough to cover an old school 36" TV.
  11. Would you mind sharing those with me? I'm not doing a simulator, but I'm trying to rescale the overlays for a 36" TV and printing them out on Vellum. Having those vectorized versions would be a huge help.
  12. I'm going to print on size D vellum. A 36" 4:3 TV has height 21.6" and width 28.8". Size D is 22 by 34. So if you print in a landscape orientation with 0.2" margins it should work about right.
  13. I just stumbled across a blog where someone has created high resolution versions of the original Magnavox Odyssey overlays that came packaged with the system. Does anyone know of anyone who's done this for the other games? I intend to create my own "larger" overlays, because I have a 36" TV, and high resolution source files are a godsend. For anyone interested, the ones that I found are: http://computer-classics.de/cah_blog2/odyssey/overlay-heaven/ http://computer-classics.de/cah_blog2/odyssey/a-tiny-odyssey-lost-cables-and-traced-overlays/
  14. After reading about video game history, I just that a video game history museum would have the Channel F because of its historical significance as the first cartridge-based microprocessor system. I didn't know that it was so flimsy, though, so the glass case idea makes sense there. I would like to see one.
  15. I attended today with the family. This was my first time going. I was pretty happy with the Dealer's room. I was able to pick up a lot of 2600 titles that I've been missing from my collection, including a couple of homebrews. I also really liked the museum area, although I was a little disappointed not to see a Fairchild Channel F. A friend of mine keeps telling me about how awesome that system was at the time, so I wanted to see it for myself.
  16. Was anyone aware that these were being sold on ebay? Anyone who wants one there appear to be two different auctions. I purchased one a few days ago and it arrived complete with all pieces. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnavox-Odyssey-game-Mentis-Cohorts-CIB-for-original-1972-Odyssey-Homebrew-/191746376912?hash=item2ca4f984d0:g:ioQAAOSw7hRWOqx-
  17. When dating your Odyssey, be classy and take her to dinner. :-)
  18. I've expanded the list to show that Lava Monster has been confirmed as still in production and to add two new announced Homebrews. Ok, well one is technically a reproduction, but the other is a homebrew. I'm really glad that I happened to pick up an Odyssey at this time when it seems to be going through a renaissance.
  19. Thanks for this. I ended up actually finding all of the released ones. I'd still love to find any of the homebrews, but I know that's an uphill battle with there being so few out there and those that have them are likely collectors.
  20. I understand that there were some major issues and there were a lot of disgruntled people from that one. I was just curious if anyone ever got a completed version of it. We seem to be in a renaissance of sorts of Odyssey Homebrews. I just confirmation that one that seemed to have disappeared is still in development and announcements for two new ones in the last couple of weeks, including yours.
  21. I just picked up the Odyssey and all of its games. I was surprised to find that there isn't a lot on the internet about it. I did find one website where a guy was going through all of the Odyssey games and reviewing them, but he never got to any of the 1973 releases. I was disappointed to find out that there are homebrews for the system, but most of them are incredibly rare and it will likely be a long time before any of them become available via auction. The one exception is Red vs Blue, which was offered for free on the Revrob website. From what I can find on the internet the homebrews are: Odball Released by Revrob Mentis Cohorts Released by Revrob (There seems to have been an issue with distribution on this one. Did anyone get a copy or was this something where no one got their order and therefore this doesn't actually exist?) Red vs Blue Released by Revrob Dodgeball Released by Atariland2600 Odyssey Evil Released by ManCaveArcade There are these Homebrews in development: Lava Monster by TheMichaelLant announced 2014 but no word since October. Appears to be abandoned. Captain Bruce by Atariland2600 announced 2014 and confirmed still in development. Hunting Adventure by ManCaveArcade announced 2013 and confirmed still in development. What I'm interested in is if anyone knows of any homebrews not on this list. Does anyone know of any auctions for Odyssey homebrews or anyone who wants to sell one? Failing that does anyone have any of these games and would like to give a review? I'm interested in any information pertaining to them. There appears to be even less on the internet about the homebrews aside from several sites noting their existance.
  22. I've edited my first post to show Hunting Adventure as confiremd pending. Atariland2600, I PMed you a while back about Captain Bruce, which is why I showed that that one was still confirmed as pending. I'm curious if you have 15 people already lined up for Captain Bruce or if you have an opening for one more. I'm definitely interested in it. Does anyone know of any other homebrews than these? Does anyone have any experience with these homebrews? I'm curious for thoughts from players.
