  1. Over about the last month, I've hit R&C 1-5 all the way to the end. The entire PS2/PS3 series complete! I played each of them at least 2 times through (#3 and #4 played 3 times through because I liked them that much ), once to beat the game, then again to get the R.Y.N.O., power up my weapons and find the hidden bolts, mods, etc. Nothing like beating the Big Boss in each game with the R.Y.N.O. in less than 20 seconds! Who else has completed the series?
  2. "Fight! Fight! 3 o'clock, after school!" Seriously though, I didn't read NE146's initial comment as a negative to the game at all. I bet all those other forums are also probably riddled with the same threads as this one. People can complain all they want, and toss hate in every direction. But they're obviously talking through their teeth until they start talking with their wallets.
  3. How much over the actual value of the games did these bids go? I don't know about all this. I've found all kinds of video game related bargains on eBay. The trick is to be careful and research what you are paying for. Also, I agree that bidding early just raises the price of the auction, and really has no benefit to the buyers. There have been times when I've sniped, but I know how much I want to spend, and I won't go over that. The benefit of sniping is not to turn your hand to your "opponents" too quickly, thereby hopefully winning the auction at lower price.
  4. You should list the auctions so we can see your damage to him.
  5. Definitely not once a day. But I can typically dupe someone into playing about once a month. More often than I'd care to have to go through connecting/disconnecting. And it's a cool conversation piece.
  6. This is an interesting thread. Not many people have anything older than a 2600 connected. I'd have thought I'd read more of the older single-function games, like Pong.
  7. Me too, but how much you want to bet their warehouse is 99% EA Sports games? There would be quite a bit of it, no doubt. In that case, there'd be a lot of pain for them when they try to sell all that crap no one wants.
  8. I don't wear watches, haven't for at least 20 years. But I like this one best, for its nostalgia and simplicity.
  9. Yeah, I thought the Viewmaster was pretty cool too. Teddy doesn't look properly loved by it's previous owner. Way too clean.
  10. Interesting. I haven't used the XBox 360 controller much, but I think it feels smaller than the PS3 controller. I have medium sized hands, and I've never had a problem with the PS3 controller. Maybe it's because I've used it since the PSX days. I think I'm lucky, though, that I can't say I've every really had a cramping problem with any controller except maybe the CV and IntV ones due to the really funky way they have to be held.
  11. Not that it would necessarily help this case, PS3 controllers in Bluetooth are easily attached and configured in recent versions of Linux. Works great with all my emulators.
  12. Good info to know! Thank you for sharing. When I've got more "disposable" cash, I may try to get a couple for my most played controllers. Haha ... Mario Party 3 is one of the favorites in the house on N64. It's one of the very few games my older son and I get to play together on that system. I do know what you're saying. It seems that game was born to destroy joysticks.
  13. Bought a couple games off him. Fast service! Thanks Austin!
  14. Derail away. I've heard the same about the 5200, but I've never had one. The 7800 controllers are pretty bad also. Now that I remember, they actually trump the CX40s in wear problems.
  15. I've not bought a game game from them that wasn't in a case. I don't remember them sticking stickers all over the discs or cases. When you get a used game, they'll often stick a price sticker on the upper right of the game's case, which could be removed easily enough. And they'd slide another sticker, but unstuck inside the case clear plastic. Never anything that would permanently hurt the original labels on the case or game. Hopefully you're not right about how they manage this new system.
  16. I thought I'd bring this up in a new thread, rather than carry on off-topic in the original thread. I don't have too many problems with the way the N64 controller plays. It's fairly comfortable for long play, and for the most-part, durable. Not really a complaint, but I can't think of any time I've actually utilized the left D-Pad for anything useful. Typically directional control is handled by the joystick. In fact, I think there are very few games that actually utilize most or all of the buttons on the controller. Seems a bit like overkill for the console's generation. As far as the joystick itself, I'd say about 1/3 of the controllers I've gotten have at least semi-worn out joysticks. The sticks are wobbly, which isn't necessarily a problem for gameplay, except that when they wear out, they also feel gritty and uneven, even when they've been completely cleaned and lubricated. This is something I know you, as a guy who's always refurbishing CV controllers, wouldn't care for either. If it ain't perfect, we're not happy. Now, sure, I can pay $10 for a new joystick, but why should I have to in the first place? These controllers are the only ones in the lots of consoles I've rebuilt where there is always question about the longevity, and the feeling that I should limit the amount of playtime if I want my joysticks to last. My PS2 and PS3 controllers all have multi-thousands of hours of play on them, and are still tight. If they were built with N64 sticks, I'd be in a lot of trouble. Coming in a close 2nd to the longevity issues would have to be the Atari CX40s, with the weak plastic ring that over flexes and deforms when pushed hard.
  17. LMFAO I used to love Spaceballs, but for me, I don't think the humor has aged well. Where's that bitchslap button?
  18. What are you saying wood_jl? That circus peanut orange Super Nintendos don't need love too?
  19. @HatefulGravey, As it is, the games are rotting away in the GS warehouse(s). Back out in the wild, at least some of them will have a chance to find good homes. And you never know, some of them may be in excellent condition, worthy of addition to your collection.
  20. I've spent $45 so far this month. But I haven't spent anything at all for the last 4 months. I've gotten to a point of happy medium. I feel mostly satiated with what I have for now. I'm not actively looking for stuff so much as allowing it to find me. This month's expenses, however, it just happens that I did want a couple of things.
  21. As I believe someone stated a few posts back, GS is likely not targeting collectors. I bet most, if not all, games people buy will be game-only, or maybe shrink wrapped with a manual if they're lucky. Boxes will have been tossed to save space, and because most buyers won't care anyway. That's what happened a couple years ago with their PS2 titles. Thousands of good CIB cases and manuals just tossed out back, or wherever they threw them, in the name of saving space.
  22. Yeah, that's pretty sneaky. Worthy of reporting, in my opinion.
