  1. We encourage players to post a score on any game thread at any time. They don't count for current season points, but scores are recorded to the HSC scoreboard. Are you missing a zero or did you put a comma in the wrong place? Also, if you're going to post a top 5 score a screenshot would be good.
  2. Scores and season standings updated.
  3. Busy week. Time to tally the scores... Points Awarded: fakecortex 462,300 +25 wongojack 455,500 +20 asponge 175,900 +17 Frozone212 140,000 +14
  4. Here is a fun little arcade port for the Famicom. This is the first time Pooyan has appeared in the HSC. Game Rules: Manual/FAQ Score Post Deadline: Sunday April 24 at 11:59 PM CDT. Games will be posted on Sundays and run two weeks through Sunday at 11:59 PM CST. Do not exploit game glitches, take advantage of 1-up loops or intentionally die in order to replay a level. If "point pressing" is not specified in the game rules you should be moving forward in an attempt to complete/loop the game and not "camping" for points. No emulator save states, slow-mo, rewind, etc. No cheats, e.g. Konami code, Game Genie, etc. Turbo controllers are allowed. Season points are awarded according to the following chart:
  5. I'm not very familiar with either game so I will put them on my list to evaluate for future rounds.
  6. I was curious about this myself. However, the continue/end text appears shortly after the score. If you were to take a screenshot immediately after game over it would look like this. I assume that's what's going on here.
  7. Fair enough. That's actually the first time I've ever seen that expression, but we're on the same page.
  8. I don't know what you mean by a "1cc run" but once it says game over that's it. Just don't continue the game.
  9. 160,900 - Killed by Bebop, RIP Don Cool game. Haven't played this in years. I think I rented it once. In case you missed it, here's a tip from the 2007 HSC thread: If your life is down to one bar you can spam the special attack without any consequence. I used this to defeat the scene 2 boss on the submarine and Slash in scene 3. The first pizza I encountered was actually right after I defeated Slash. So you were almost there.
  10. Sorry this is a little late. The last appearance of this game in the HSC was back in May of 2007. 14. We haven't played this one in the HSC since 2010. As always, if you all are in the mood to play a particular title please let me know. My suggestions list is getting a bit low. 18. You're killing me Smalls! I'm only posting this to brag about 24 strikeouts. I can't break the 10 point barrier.
  19. 12 - 2 = 10 This doesn't improve my score, but my stats are better so I'm posting it. In that game I didn't use Valenzuela too much. For whatever reason he was get tired out by the 4th inning so I put Sutcliffe in for a few innings and then Bedrosian to finish up the game. The game that I just posted here I believe I kept him in through the 6th which is usually possible. Either way I almost exclusively use the curve ball no matter which pitcher is in play. I kind of pitch like you're describing a few posts up. If the batter is same-handed I'll curve it across the outside corner. If it's timed right they'll swing every time and miss. If the batter is differently-handed I'll pitch to the outside first. Often the batter won't even swing but will move closer to the plate. Then I'll pitch way to the inside. The batter will normally swing, miss and move away from the plate. Then I'll switch back to the outside again for a strikeout. Obviously this doesn't always work exactly as described and some random pitches may need to be included, but it works consistently enough that I stick with it.
  20. Tetris starts on Sunday. By the way, a question for everyone, do we want to change it up and play the Tengen version or stick with the Nintendo version?
