Pictures are always good. If you have the original boxes, that would be desirable also and have a large impact on the price.

That's a fair point. I'm not a hardcore fan of the original either but I remember being simply amazed by how great it looked in the arcade. Given that the 2600 version looks nothing like it and I'm not a big fan of games where I have to gauge the height of my plane (in a 3-D format) the 2600 version just wasn't a winner. I highly prefer traditional shooters.

Cool. You don't have to debate whether to open them or not. They are all great games but you already know that! You also mentioned Pitfall and Zaxxon. Did you play Zaxxon? I couldn't get into the 2600 version of it. Appears a little too ambitious for the 2600 (unless maybe Champ Games decided to tackle it now).

Good choices. I had all 3 of those games as a kid and they all saw a significant amount of play. When you say "new purchases" are they new to you or brand new (still sealed) games?

Those Colecovision screens still look really good but we were relatively poor and had an Atari VCS so I neither my parents nor I even considered the Colecovision. Just finding Donkey Kong for the Atari wasn't easy. I was happy to have it and played it a ton!

It's difficult to compare a game in great shape with the instruction manual to a cart with a poor label. Personally, I really value the instruction manuals and will pay significantly more for them. There was a single cart, also with a great label, that sold exactly one month ago for $160. That's partially where I based my estimate of $80. I also took into account that he's selling it here and eBay would have assessed $20-30 in fees. Other than feeling that potential buyers will discount the condition more than you, I agree with everything you said. I have a CIB version of this game so I won't be making an offer either.

Good points. I got my first real job in 1985 making $2.85 an hour. It would have taken awhile to pay for those two cases of games especially when I, like you, was spending a my check one quarter at a time (or buying music or buying Commodore 64 stuff, etc). A year later I was spending my money on my future wife. I had no chance from that point on.

I didn't receive a recent update either and I'm not worried as I've been a member (for what seems like) forever, have ordered tons of stuff without ever being disappointed, and know Al's a quality guy. I have an order from 6/23, 6/25, and 12/20 from last year and I can wait patiently although I was a bit surprised to see new AtariAge listings on eBay (nothing newer so I'm assuming it's older stock that didn't need to be assembled even though it seems odd to be selling items while some orders have been outstanding for 10 months now). Hopefully we're just around the corner!

I'll take a case of each please

Let's start with Activision. They made tons of incredible games for the Atari 2600. My favorites are... - Beamrider - Pitfall & Pitfall II - Enduro - Megamania - Keystone Kapers - Starmaster - H.E.R.O. - Kaboom! - Ice Hockey Then move on to Imagic. You can't go wrong with Demon Attack, Dragonfire, Atlantis and Cosmic Ark Parker Brothers made some great games. I'd recommend Q*bert, Gyruss, Montezuma's Revenge, Popeye and Frogger (although the Starpath Supercharger Frogger is superior if you can get one to play) I love many of the Atari arcade ports like Dig Dug, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Ms. Pacman, Berzerk, Phoenix. While you're playing Atari-made carts, don't forget originals like Adventure, Yar's Revenge, Superman and Circus Atari CBS Electronics favorites are GORF, Wizard of Wor and Solar Fox MNetwork games are pretty darn faithful to their Intellivision counterparts. I especially enjoy Bump N Jump and Space Attack There are also a ton of great homebrews (more recent games by talented programmers). Anything by Champ Games is simply amazing and highly recommended. I especially enjoy Toyshop Trouble, Spaceman Splorf, Assembloids, Blocks, HERO 2 and Lode Runner. There are many more really good ones. Hope this helps!!

Great job!! My oldest son just came back from bowling in Vegas a couple of weeks ago (I'm not sure what the tournament was but he was at Southpoint). He's way better at real bowling than Intellivision bowling. I'd guess most people are better at bowling on video games.

So cool. Have you played the Space Invaders game? I remember purchasing two consoles and two Space Invader games. Sadly I haven't opened either of mine yet.

I don't always have my TI99 hooked up but I love to bring it out and show off Dragon's Lair whenever I have someone around who appreciates DL or just games from that era.

Another game that requires reading the manual but is excellent is Space Attack (MNetwork's version of Space Battle). The enemies are large and details and the pace can get fast and furious. However, if you don't know how to send out your squadrons and join in a fight, it's just confusing. I see lots of people who don't like it but I tend to think they probably just haven't invested the time required to understand it.

I'm still waiting on my LE also. Sucks to have the regular edition released first knowing I paid more to still not be able to play.
