You can lead a horse to water... but you can't keep the stupid ones from accidentally drowning themselves.

I haven't posted updates about my YouTube gaming channel progress in a while because I was working on finishing two large playlists containing all my older game recordings from 2009-2012.The first playlist contains all of the recordings I made on VHS and DVD-R in 2009. It has about 140 videos. The quality varies due to the different times or ways the analog media was converted to digital. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb4qwA8QBt5dQxDzCCtVNVPLx9Ht3-ctr&si=JqF48BrhtclGNPvpThe second playlist contains all of the recordings I made on a laptop with a capture card in 2011-2012. I had probably twice as much footage originally, but lost a lot of it due to dropping a hard drive that was not backed up. Still about 318 videos survived. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb4qwA8QBt5ffz4pCGVR-UDgG8f4EDcpe&si=fvE5AbhZIBEoh9TwLastly, I added a few videos to my first comeback videos playlist from June-September 2021. I decided to include the games I tried but didn't complete, as well as a first test video I recorded a year before in 2020, changing the name of the playlist to April 2020-Sepetember 2021 with the number of videos at 59. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb4qwA8QBt5eGHLBAruueFkNlt-NncVJh&si=KU7172eByBelwtZ3At this point now I can just get back to catching up on my monthly playlists where I left off at April 2022, and streaming while I record new takes.

Yes, in fact during the 2011-2012 series, I was logging the time here on this forum. Recording the video was how I got the exact times. That reminds me, if I go back on this forum and look at the threads for those years, I might be able to figure out exactly which games I lost all the footage for. Most of those I have replayed in 2021-2023 and am continuing this year, so the loss of my original videos is not that bad. These days I live stream while I play just in case someone wants to watch while I'm active. I pop in randomly but often.

Never leave HDDs in your laptops when you donate them to thrift shops. I like it when you do, but you don't like it when you do.

YouTube blocks ad blockers now. Time to look for an ad blocker blocker blocker!

What version of GAME SHARK is mostly likely to work on a Playstation 2 used for PSX games? I have CDX 3.3 and it doesn't work..

Great news for the retro gaming community and fans of Everdrive products. I imagine it would take him quite a while to get back into it, even if he ends up having to settle in Spain. If he could manage to set up shop with them there though, that could provide his family with income they might desperately need right now.

Seattle had a similar artist named Ricky Rebel who used to hang out at the Art Bar in the 90s. Unlike Wesley, he was a skinny white guy but like Wesley he played a keyboard except I think he also played guitar too after the keyboard got the beat going. And some of his songs were just as weird and obscene.
One of his songs that was recorded live and played on the public access show The Ted Narcotic Show (also the band that I joined in 2016) was called "I Wanna Kill Tom Petty." At the end of the song he yells I f**kin hate you! a few times while pouring a glass of red wine on his head. My guitarist also got a cassette album Ricky Rebel recorded. With strange songs like "I Wanna Be Raped by Michael Jackson," "Disco Satan," and my favorite, "Stupid F**kin' B**ch" lol

I have had a bad cold the last few days with lots of drainage, coughing, sore throat. No fever though, so I didn't suspect COVID. I broke down tonight and used one of the 4 tests the gov't mailed everybody (if you sign up). We just got ours a few days ago. Basically, you fill a small test tube with a testing solution (about a few milliters) then swab the inside of each nostril for 15 seconds (making 5 passes against inside about 3/4 inch deep within the nose). This feels horrible when you're sick. Then you stick it in the test tube solution and stir it about 15 times then squeeze the end of the swab at the bottom of the test tube a few times to get as much material out then recap it. Then you squeeze out 3 drops (through a smaller hole under a smaller cap) onto the inlet hole of the test strip. Then wait 15 minutes and read the result. One line means negative, 2 lines means positive. Luckily it came out negative. I see these tests for like $10 at drug stores.

My allergies and chronic conditions would make it take at least a couple days to tell whether I was sick or just experiencing allergic episodes. Sometimes I can start coughing quite a bit after drinking too strong of coffee which I seem to be allergic to but rely on too much for energy. Plus I like the taste of lattes too much to give them up.

No Garfield strip today?

My band has a song called "Step Back Into the Picture" that is about taking a picture at the edge of the Grand Canyon. At the end our singer Ted says "I wish I coulda caught the look on your face!" Before that he says "I don't know what that is at the bottom of the cliff, but it looks a little bit like you."

Arby's has a new Diablo chicken or brisket sandwich out. I had the chicken for lunch. I like some spicy stuff but HOLY HELL! It didn't kick in until I was about 1/3 through the sandwich, then it got really spicy. By the time I was 2/3 through I felt like I was eating the Devil's A$$hole! They give you a small milkshake with it and trust me, you'll need it. I couldn't finish the last two bites and anyone who knows me knows that I don't waste food!

Im curious to know if there would be any interest in a “bootleg consoles” thread. For some reason, in all the awful that is bootlegs, I find them facinating. There’s no shortage of videos on them either

I would find it interesting especially if we had a goal of posting pictures and documenting each one, along with an incompatibility and glitch/flaw list within each system's topic. Noting the release year would also help.
My first clone was the Yobo FC Twin. It is pretty well known and plays NES and SNES cartridges. It comes with SNES style controllers that aren't quite as good as the originals but better than some similar clone controllers.
I'm pretty sure I bought my first Charcoal one in 2007 but I sold it. I have since replaced it.
