  1. Nah you're good! I saw your Conway temple, very nice. Anyway here are a few useful commands for anyone who wants to come play. /jobs list ---> lists the jobs and lets you pick your professions. You need some jobs to make money, which you can use to trade with players, make shops, and purchase stuff from /spawn /mcstats -----> see your McMMO stats /mctop ------> see the McMMO leaderboard /mctop <skillname> ------> see the leaderboard for a speciffic skill /mcrank ----> see your rankings for all skills /<skillname> ------> /swords for example will give you skill info on swords and show your exp, exp needed TNL, etc etc /tpa <playername> ----> request to teleport to a player /tpahere <playername> -----> request a player to TP to you /sethome ---> sets a home point, you can have a few of these /delhome ----> deletes a home point /back ---> returns you to the last place you were /ms help -----> guide to using the magic spells plugin /spawn ------> takes you back to Spawn City Overworld, the city offers tons of stuff: an enchanting table, curiosities to explore (double-glitched jungle temple, an empty dungeon that myself and another admin built [real version is in the Adventure world]) shops selling monster spawn eggs, Ender chests, and NPC eggs so you can start or improve an NPC village if you'd like. Also portals to all of the worlds; Adventure, Creative, War, Cityworld, etc. -cauldrons are infinite water sources. -to lock a chest, place a sign on the front of the chest. You can use /lockette to edit the sign and allow multiple users to access the chest. I'm sure there's more stuff but I can't think of it at the moment. Anyway hope to see some more people online!
  2. I'd love to play some Minecraft with people from AA, as the average user's intelligence is typically 10x your normal internet user. So my friends and I started a new RPG Minecraft server and everyone here is invited. You can read about the server and get the info and whatnot, here: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2013/01/minecraft-paladins.html There's also a video posted on the official page: http://mcpaladins.blogspot.com/ BASICALLY, we are running all kinds of things to make the game like a huge open-world RPG. It's a "multiverse" so there is a place to play no matter what you wanna do. Create, level, etc.
  3. Blazing Lazers is one of the best shooters of all time But, seriously, China Warrior is a severely underrated and unappreciated gem: http://8bitcity.blog...ior-review.html Also, The Ninja Warriors: http://8bitcity.blog...s-pcetg-16.html Alien Crush: http://8bitcity.blog...lien-crush.html Devil's Crush: http://8bitcity.blog...vils-crush.html Legendary Axe: http://8bitcity.blog...endary-axe.html CD Games: Jim Power: http://8bitcity.blog...s-and-tips.html The Dynastic Hero: http://8bitcity.blog...astic-hero.html Are a great place to start. An Neutopia.
  4. http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/11/phantasy-star-ii-part-three.html I'm playing a game of Phantasy Star II and recording everything that happens in text (who has time for a let's play of this game, seriously). Thought you guys might be interested. Also, I recently completed The Clash at Demonhead for the NES (Scott Pilgrim band was named after the game, yes), and I drew some sketches of the characters and scanned my hand-drawn map, NPC hints, etc. http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/11/clash-at-demonhead-artwork.html What Genesis or NES games have you guys been playing in the last month or so? Or, if it's been longer, when was it and what games?
  5. http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/10/kabuki-quantum-fighter-nintendo-power.html There's some Kabuki Quantum Fighter NES scans to make up for it not being on the list. I wasn't counting licensed games either, and I KNOW Fist of the North Star is licensed but I made an exception because I love those two games Maybe a second set of 10 games is in order? Kick Master Kabuki Quantum Fighter Monster Party Xeyxz and some others.
  6. I've been putting off purchasing one of these for way too long. Which are the best, in your opinion. I'm really just looking for a GBA Flash Cart to put in my GBA Micro, but if I could play GBA games on the DS cart, I would consider it. I'd like to spend 20 bucks (or less?) on this, if possible. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  7. http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/metal-storm-nintendo-power-scans.html Enjoy. Metal Storm is one of the greatest game, and this article really demonstrates the cool Nintendo Power layout style.
  8. Here are two nifty NES romhacks for the collectors out there! Block: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/block-nes-romhack.html Cool: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/cool-adventure-island-nes-romhack.html I use Cool all the time now, it's like my own custom version of one of my favorite games!
  9. LttP: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/legend-of-zelda-link-to-past-nintendo.html Super Castlevania IV: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/super-castlevania-iv-nintendo-power.html Enjoy! Two of the the best games on the SNES. Man, these Nintendo power spreads have cool artwork, and a feeling you simply cannot get from modern game magazines. This and Sega Visions were so cool back in the day.
  10. ttp://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/super-castlevania-iv-nintendo-power.html Nintendo power has such cool spreads for their games, I miss gaming magazines like this! Before the internet, all we had was Nintendo Power and the Sega Visions. Visions was closer to what gaming mags are now (designed to sell games), but still had some cool copies of the levels, artworks, etc. Anyway, Nintendo Power never gave you help on the last levels too much, so no one really had a problem using them. I've got tons of these magazines, pretty much all of the 8 and 16 bit ones

    Proto Man 3

Thank you bomberpunk! That really means a lot to know that someone enjoys the hack! A one-eyed breakman should be very possible. Another idea is it might be possible to change him to green, like a Sniper Joe, so he'd be a prototype of proto man!
  12. Thanks for the feedback! Owl Bears take a little leveling, but once you buy the good gear around town they aren't too bad. I didn't use a walkthrough all the time, but I did use maps for the dungeons. I still got lost in the mazes haha, but this made the game much easier. Other than that, I keep a notebook handy and write down NPC stuff. Oh yea, I did use a walkthrough for 1 part on the ice world I was simply stumped and so I watched a guy get the the dungeon. Another time I was stumped but really I was just supposed to walk to X location or something stupid.
  13. This is the wrong system, but Psychic World is great and underrated and Non-franchise. I reviewed the Master System version: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/psychic-world.html
  14. I really wanted Rygar on the list, but they made a PS2 version and ruined that for me. Plus I don't feel Rygar is underrated at all: everyone loves Rygar.
  15. I'd be willing to play a fan translation in the future. In fact, I'll probably do that for my next playthrough in a few months/years.
  16. I'm not sure where I got the screenshots, probably just searching "Phantasy Star screenshots" in google images and those were non-fuzzy non-watermarked, so I took them. I didn't even notice the dialouge! So the version I'm playing on the Wii is a re-translation? Do multiple, official, copies of the cart exists with different translations?
  17. http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/06/phantasy-star-review.html I just beat the last boss in Phantasy Star after spending the last 3 days playing the game. You can read all about the detail in the blog post. Good review? Anyway, I loved the game. It's really one of the best RPgs I've ever played, and I've played almost all of the major ones.
  18. Thanks for the tip, it actually helped a lot against these guys. Ultimately, this game just takes a little practice. I wrote up a review, for anyone interested in this game.
  19. No one has played Ninja Warriors? I'm getting better, but Stage 3 is rough. This game is much harder than Altered Beast, and I'm resisting the urge to play on the easy difficulty.
  20. Note that the list was underrated AND non-franchise. Some games are not underrated on that last--Shatterhand, for example has enjoyed a lot of popularity in the last 10 years online. FotNS games are underrated but are, admittedly, part of a huge franchise. As far as the other games mentioned, I think Dynowarz probably has the best shot at making it onto a future list. I might expand this into a Top 20 at some point, but some of these games are crap. Others like Monster Party, Xexyz, Athena are garbage too, but fit the genre. I don't want to make a list of bad games though, lol. Anyway thanks for the input, I'm having fun trying some of these other games out. I like Trojan, and I'd keep it on my list. As I said in the comments, I simply forgot about Little Samson, and the more I think about it the more I want Powerblade on that list as well. I'm honestly more concerned with finding good games with "serious" art styles. Little Nemo, while it's a cool game, is too cartoony for my tastes and I'm not a fan of the combat. Totally unrelated, but if you want to play a PC Beat-'Em-Up parody, I uploaded a game I made, Fight Town, just yesterday: http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2011/05/fight-town.html If you like 8-Bit gaming, you'll probably enjoy it a lot!
  21. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rCzAxCz2kj0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I recently discovered this game but I'm having a lot of trouble beating the guys with metal arms who jump around the screen in level 1... Anyone have some advice or tips about this game? Also, if anyone knows where I could find a scan of the manual, I bet that would really help me out. I'll keep this first post short and sweet, but I'd really like to talk to some other gamers about this (and possibly other) TG-16 underrated classics. Thanks in advance!
