  1. Thanks for the thoughts. It's unfortunate to hear the old Iris units are gone forever! I will continue poking around and if I find anything I'll report back here to the masses. I did find these Sterilite units below. I'll try to head over in the next few weeks for a closer look. They may not be as sturdy and they certainly don't look as slick as the old Iris units but it's my best lead at this point for a good carpet option. (If I was on floor I think I'd go with the smaller units from containerstore.com previously mentioned). If my estimates are correct, this unit could hold 54 carts but the ultimate test will be stacking them full 9 high and seeing if the bottom container still operates. http://www.walmart.com/ip/6-Sterilite-2301-16-Quart-Single-Box-Modular-Stacking-Storage-Drawer-Containers/42707810
  2. I took a look at Walmart.com and found these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Large-Modular-Drawer-White-Case-of-3/44785825 Looking at the dimensions I'm guessing they would hold around 100 Atari carts. Yes, they are definitely way bigger than the unavailable AtariAge solution.
  3. I believe the Atariage recommended storage solution is no longer available (they held 72 carts): https://atariage.com/howto/storage_tips/LooseCarts.html My goal is to find something similar in height for efficient cart storage without wasted head space in each drawer. A stackable drawer solution is what I believe I need and I'd like to go as high as I can in whatever solution I get to minimize floor footprint. The counter part is the need for stability and I'm on carpet which is a negative already. I would have had to go 7 or so high (I'm storing ~500 carts) of the above-mentioned containers but I think their footprint was wide enough to provide the needed stability. I've read about folks using the small tint stacking drawer over at the containerstore.com which hold 34-36 carts (http://www.containerstore.com/s/storage/storage-drawers/small-tint-stacking-drawer/12d?productId=10008469). I'm a little nervous about the tipping potential if I go with 2 stacks of 7 high or so to fit all my carts and I'd prefer not to go 3 stacks of 4 or 5 as I'm wasting free available head space. Thus, for a solid footprint, I'd like something closer to 50-60 carts per container instead of 34. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have!
  4. Alright! Mr. Kaboom! avatar doesn't get a vote in this matter, just like no one can ask me how much Midnight Magic is worth, and no one can ask how much Van Halen babies are worth....or something. $25 for a boxed copy? Sealed? Seems high to me even if it's sealed but I guess I'll just say I hope they are worth that much. I can't go against my own hobby.
  5. Price Inflation! My collecting of commons has finally paid off! http://cgi.ebay.com/KABOOM-Atari-Video-gam...1QQcmdZViewItem Ok. I have a near-perfect E.T. cartridge for sale....we'll start the bidding at $15!
  6. This is somewhat of a pointless post but I'm pretty excited about coming to the convention this year so I'll post it anyway. I'm from Illinois and tried to make VGS the last couple years and couldn't (not really any other classic gaming choices throughout the year for us Illinoisians). This will be the first gaming convention of my life and I've been collecting for 15-20 years so that's saying something. Thanks for putting this together Dan!
  7. One more: "I really hate this 1-10 rarity numbering system! Why doesn't someone come out with an alphabetical list using pluses and minuses?"
  8. How about: "Why use price lists when you can write the price right on the cartridge!"
  9. I would like to annouce that this is the perfect thread!!!!!! Boy, I haven't posted in a while but I had to come out of the woodworks for this one! I haven't spent much time playing Bumper Bash but I've broke a few joysticks playing Midnight Magic and Video Pinball! Many, many hours!

  11. Here's a past thread concerning Atari fonts: http://www.atariage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb...c&f=16&t=000019 [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Midnight ]
  12. Here's a thread that I started back in July about Atari being on Antiques Roadshow: http://www.atariage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb...c&f=16&t=000647 And here's what PBS put on their website about it: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/roadshow/app...me52/index.html Hope this interests you guys!
  13. Boy! I can't believe it's already that high and we don't even know what it is! I should be asking the seller for a royalty fee for pointing out the game to an interested group of collectors!
  14. Can anyone shed some light on the weird looking Frogger Cartridge in this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...item=1293926345 Unfortunately, the picture is blurred but you can definitely tell it's not the typical Parker Brothers cartridge shape.
  15. Al, Then, your current rarity ratings are for the cartridge only? (Since you said the yellow boxing is less common for Fire Fighter yet the two entries have the same rarity of 3.) Does this mean you'll eventually have a rarity rating on the boxes themselves completely independent of the game cartridge? For instance, maybe a really common game has a much rarer box than the game is? Maybe a game like Pole Position II for the 7800...since the game came for free with the system most people didn't get a box? A rarity list along that line? I guess you could really get crazy though....you could have a rarity list for the manuals also....Activision's black and white versions versus the color manuals for instance! It's obvious that this will be really involved when you open that can of worms! But it sounds like a really interesting undertaking! Thx, Midnight
