  1. Thank you so much! What an awesome port.
  2. Thanks so much! I'm happy to have it go to someone else, but I really do appreciate the contest and the conversation. Happy holidays to all!
  3. OH, for 2600+....more paddle games please! Enhanced version of Circus Atari (with balloons instead of squares for graphics). That homebrew version of Warlords!
  4. great news on the strong heart. Take it easy. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
  5. I'm impressed at how much of this you've figured out so far! Wow!
  6. No, it won't damage a set in any way. You may hear a small sparky crack when turning the 5200 on or off, but that's just the 4 port switchbox switching modes. Once you get it hooked up, you'll want to set your LCD TV to "Antenna" or "OTA" mode instead of "Cable" and then scan channels while the 5200 is powered on.
  7. Yes it would! The only issue would be that it gets painful to use that RF input with other systems. If the 5200 is the only thing you want to hook up, then it's fine.
  8. YES! That is the front end for MESS that I use. It's nice because it includes everything (ie - you don't have to install MAME separately), and it is updated constantly.
  9. This is a great question! Does your TV have an RF (antenna) input? Because that is going to be your best bet. 2 port 5200 on a modern LCD TV using RF works well for me! As far as emulation, I've had great luck with the MESS emulator.
  10. No worries at all. I've been to so many of them and volunteered a few times.
  11. Albert: I can help on Thursday afternoon if you need it. I am not attending the show at all this year because I'm leaving on a cruise Friday. However, if you need help and can get me in, I'm happy to assist.
  12. Cool, cool. Thanks for specifying. I used to design wire harnesses, and even then there would be confusion. I agree the standard is to describe it by the "pins", but not everyone follows.
  13. I am interested, but want to make sure I understand what "male end" means. I assume you mean the end that would plug in to an Atari 2600 console? Thanks.
  14. Do you have a local TI or retro community that gets together in-person? Maybe leaving it to that group so the equipment can be enjoyed during meetings and get-togethers.
  15. I also am interested. Thanks for the consideration.
  16. The replacement works perfectly. Thank you.
  17. I also have a pre-production Concerto cart. I just today received a HOKEY chip. My Concerto had a POKEY in it already that worked fine. But the HOKEY has issues. I don't mind the lower sound volume, but Ballblazer has hisses and pops with the HOKEY. I tried reseating the chip, but the sound is the same. Pops and glitchy. Current Concerto firmware is 0.94a Is there a firmware update for the Concerto I should install to help with this? I'm not sure what to do other than put the POKEY back in. Maybe I got a defective HOKEY? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  18. I've received a couple of these boxes from @Xot, and they are a lot of fun! In case anyone is on the fence. They are all loose, but there's always a tremendous variety. I'd say only a small percentage do not work. Thank you for doing this and Happy New Year to everyone. If no one else claims these by 1/3, I'll take my turn once again. Thanks!
  19. I still have my Wii-U and would love to try it. But I'm happy to wait to see who else is interested and then you can randomly choose a winner. Whatever works for you.
  20. I have the same question. I have an old pre-production Concerto, which I love...but no pokey installed. Is it possible to buy just a hokey chip? Or maybe trade in the old pre-prod model for a new one with the HOKEY installed? Thanks!
