  1. I have 4 Incognito's. At one point they all worked. I started with one of the original's and all was happy. The new batch came out and I bought a spare. Somehow I fried my working one. No video output. I thought it was something with my Sophia. I swapped my spare in and it worked. Huh.. ok, well, I'll try not to do that again.

Then I did it again. Incognito stopped working. No video. xilinx chip seems fine, I can read and write it. .. Bought another two more Incognitos. Have a nice working one and a spare.

Is there any troubleshooting I can do? Can I swap out that big square chip?

Here, this is the right type (IDC, 10-pin, double-row, 2.0mm pitch):

    https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Pcs-Pitch-Double-Headers/dp/B00899WOM6/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=straight+idc+2.0mm+10+pin&qid=1625664328&sr=8-3

(sorry, I ran out and distributed all the ones I had remaining, back then)

Preparing programming cable will not be trivial, as you will need to adapt pitch from 2.0mm (Incognito-end) to 2.4mm (programmer's end), and that requires a special type of jumpers (can be bought off the shelf, as well).

I have the cable and programmer.

Sure thing (as I have several from those two batches). Plenty of yours out-there.

But not some of latest production, including the last one I bought, for instance. I remember sending out some JTAG headers to other folks out-there, so they could be added.

I have one that has no JTAG header. What size is it? All the one I can find are 2.54mm and that's too big.

Sorry that this doesn't help with your issue @Roydea6, but just yesterday, I used John's UFLASH.XEX to write the new 4.49e SDX 192kB ROM to my U1MB.  I had to catch myself - I initially chose the 256kB ROM which would not work, since I have the GOS installed.  I was using APE to pull the ROM over SIO.

    -nevermind-

This is an oddly low-key teaser since it actually doesn't show what's coming:

What you see here is a new build of the Incognito BIOS which supports 'plugins'. This relies on the self-test bit in the PORTB register being able to bank in ROM at $5000-57FF while the configuration is unlocked (which the U1MB can do, but the Incognito cannot). Hopefully a CPLD update will allow this to work, providing 2KB of ROM space for plugin code to support Sophia 2, PokeyMAX, SimpleStereo v4, and whatever else. The U1MB build has also been modified for the enlarged plugins at the same address, and this is one of the reasons why the Sophia 2 and PokeyMAX plugins are still not available for general consumption. But they will be soon.

The machine pictured has the stock Incognito CPLD code, but in order to provide a safe upgrade path, the Incognito version tests the functionality of the self-test bit and simply bypasses the plugin (as shown in the photo) if it doesn't work.

Still lots of work to do (plugins to update, UI elements to perfect, changes to the loader, etc), but this should be complete around New Year time if everything works out.

    How’s this project going?

I have QNAP NAS and it has Container Station which is Docker based.  My NAS is ARM based and the only image I can find on dockerhub was:

    https://hub.docker.com/r/tschak909/tnfsd-armv7l

This worked perfectly when tested with client.

I have the same NAS, how can I set this up? I found a container in dockerhub - and set it up and it's running, but I get a failure when I try and connect to it from fujinet.

    monsoft/tnfsDOCKER

The TNFS server allows you to easily share files between a PC, Spectrum and Atari (#FujiNet ).

As @mozzwald posted above "The board is supposed to automatically enter flash mode when you press "Flash FujiNet Firmware", but you can force it into flash mode by holding Button A (far left) when you plug in the USB cable, then run the flash tool."

I have tried this on my FujiNet and it has updated successfully ever since.  Worth a try . . .

    Yes,that did it. Thanks,

    Frank

  8. I get the same thing as well -

    Using 'COM12' as serial port.
    Getting latest firmware from fujinet.online..

still uses 6502 for full comparability

    Sparta Dos X built in

    Hardware write protect

More popular - easier to get help

    Antonia 4MB

    4X the memory

    W65C816 CPU

    HELP!!

Antonia is just a drop in if your board is socketed. Then use a SIDE 2/3 for the RTC and SDX.

Is there any tool, or just any way, to easily modify the content of the CAR: device in a SpartaDOS X image? Say, I want to put a couple of my own executables

    Thanks

Most SDX images don't have much room to add your own executables, but it can be done. You need the SDX imager found on this page -

I put the SDX update on my SDRIVE2.  Booted from the SIDE3 with with the SDRIVE2 in the SIO.  Choose Reboot from the SIDE3 Loader which launched the SDRIVE2 Loader.  Launched the SDX ATR file and got to where you are.  When I hit any key it just started.  Couple minutes later it was done.

    That's working!
