    Just snagged an original 1983 C64 from an older gentlemans attic. Having some unusual colors, and I've got "Jail Bars." My thought is the VIC-II chip is shot. the VIC II Chip in this particular computer is a ceramic and gold MOS 6567, can i replace this with any VIC II chip? I see a couple of different number designations on ebay. is there a better source for a replacement chip?

    Looking for suggestions for an orange paint for the trim around a four switch and on the bezels of the joysticks, anybody already know a good match?

    I already told him to try that on reddit says they look fine, not sure if he checked the board for crossed connections. it is starting to sound to me like something is wrong with whatever chip controls the joystick input.

    Indieretronews.com is a good site for tracking Homebrew projects across alot of platforms, tho definitely has a Spectrum bend to it.

    So i took the plunge and grabbed a Panasonic FS-A1 and a Mega Flash ROM SCC+ cart. I have a 2GB SD card that i formatted in FAT using windows 10, I threw a few ROM and DSK files on the card, and threw it in. According to the quick start guide, Once MultiMente opens, i should be able to just press 2 and load the SD card. But nothing happens. I tried pressing L to Load from drive A, but nothing happens. I can't find the Files anywhere, and the amount of options available in MultiMente is overwhelming. What am i doing wrong?

    Yeah, I have both of his other releases. Top notch. Not the biggest fan of Moon Patrol, but i am a BIG fan of Kristoff's work. Torn.

    In the market for an MSX2, any other users on here? Im planning on grabbing a Panasonic A-1 since they are so abundant on Ebay, and because i don't plan on using a floppy drive. Gonna grab an SD cart from MSX Cartdridge shop as well.

    please don't think me a Barbarian, I swear I didn't abuse my poor VIC carts. It's the big mean cart slots fault, I swear.

    Seriously, i had always heard the cart slot was bad but WOW. I actually broke a copy of Ms. Pac Man while trying to get it out of the computer!! The shell actually broke off inside the machine. is there a solution to this? Right now i'm thinking the solution is buying the Final Expansion 3, putting it in there and never taking it out. Also, on a related note, rubbing alcohol to clean between the keys on the keyboard is a BAD choice.

    I was just reading the wiki article for the Tomy Tutor, and it said it was very similar to a TI99-4/A, how true is this? Would it be possible to port games from one to the other in a way similar to MSX and Coleco?
