you can use 27c512 with no problems, i did a supermon/ultimate ripper combo ages ago using them. You can even use sst27sf512. At the moment i forgot how i got the supermon and UR working, i know i memory flipped it... so i am looking at a way of making the 512 to work as 2 x 256's with the use of a switch. Anything about 512 will be 32-pin. I do remember when i bought an eprom programmer for the ST, that you could make an adaptor for the 27c010 so you could program 2 x 512 separately as the programmer only has 28-pin sockets. Hi What are the newer modern replacement for the 32-pin dil eproms used for tos 2.06 etc.. there has to be a common replacement that we can use? any help will be appriciated. Steve

Hd driver demo is restricted. It's designed to test out to see if it does the job. I had an old version but couldn't find the original disk so ended up paying full price. Support for this is bang on, was updated a month or so ago, and he responds fast to queries. I tried other solutions without luck. Still have no response to my internal mega ste ultrasatan problem/query. Steve

Many years ago there was a BBS called STraight BBS run by Karl Foley, he was nice enough to give me all his hard drives and software and his disks - tons of them. So i may need a little disk space. I am hoping to use the second ide on the falcon as a bbs drive, set it up as was but with everything i need on that drive. The system uses ProBBS so will have to get to terms with that first. At the moment i'm selling my software collection along with some hardware etc, next stage is to start moving the PD library over to CD or DVD. At the moment all i can use is cd/dvd and zip drives, hence the satan approach. I still have software that was put forward to be published and that is still in the 'to be processed pile', as it was when i bought LAPD. Steve Steve

Hmm. I had no problem with drive letters when I had my 3x6 cd changers. Started at z and worked backward. I'm using latest hd driver and 4gig such card with 4 partitions. Just ordered a 32gig one to try out. Anyway, got a question that lotherik can't answer. I have a mega ste with no internal scsi card, can I install ultrasatan internally but still retaing use of the Dma for external scsi ( iPads and predictive text is doing my head in, so apologies if some words have been replaced withou me knowing) Steve

well i sent all the components for the netsubee x2, 1 for me and 1 for mr zaxxon to keep, got an emai back a few months later explaining that he was awaiting new chip as he had put it in wrong.... and still bugger all. emailed him many times and given up. Now resulting in trying to used a cd writer to transfer and archiving the library. the ultrasatan sounds ideal, but not willing to shell out as i'm not confident i'll get anything. At the moment getting married, or marred depends how you look at it, not got the space for all the floppies in new house, along with a lot of st hardware:( so hopefully will be able to serve the ST comunity once more.
