  1. On the Texas Instruments Ti-99/4A you can do this in Extended Basic with 3 lines of code (Interrupt controlled Sprites). IIRC: 10 For i=1 to 28 20 Call Sprite(#i, 42, 128,1, 1, (RND*10)+1, (RND*10)+1)) 30 Next i
  2. That shouldn't be a problem. It's absolutely common
  3. Has somebody found this yet? Would be very useful.... Curt?
  4. In another thread, Curt Vendel mentioned that there is a soldering point for that on the FB2 PCB... Has somebody found it ???
  5. Great news! But I would prefer an LCD replacement board using this FPGA, since the screen is the only weakness of this well aged system.
  6. I got mine from a Retro-Fair 2 Years ago. 17 Euros, Curved Lip MIB :-D :-D

    Lynx to VGA

Please add me to the list. I will buy definately one or two. The old LCD is the only drawback of the Lynx in actual time. When it was designed, there was no better choice. But now there is
  8. It's Blue Lightning. Blue thunder is the 80's helicopter movie
  9. Seems to depend on which one you buy. There is also one "iPhone 5 Defender Style w/ rubb[er]..." I'd like one, too. Maybe he ships to Germany. Too bad, I don't have Paypal ... :-/
  10. You can not compare Hard Drivin' to STUN Runner in terms of speed, because they use completely different techniques to render 3D graphics. Hard Drivin' uses filled polygons, whereas STUN Runner uses zoomed sprites, which the Lynx can render in hardware. IMHO it was a great effort to squeeze an arcade machine with dedicated 3D hardware in the small Lynx with just a 6502 to calculate filled 3D polygons. For faster 3D polygon graphics try Steel Taolons.
  11. Yes, thats right. I made the same mistake when buying a game with the sticker "pin's gratuit" on it, hoping to get a pin of a Lynx game. Instead, I got a "Lynx" pin. Not too bad either, but I have already some of them... There were official Lynx Pins in France, but I think the ones surfacing in the last years are 3rd party after market items, because the quality (painting) of them is lower than the original ones.
  12. What about this one? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.de%2Fitm%2FDeLock-Converter-USB-2-0-Serial-TTL-3-5-mm-stereo-jac-83115%2F200895918627%3F_trksid%3Dp5197.m1997%26_trkparms%3Daid%253D222002%2526algo%253DSIC.FIT%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D16%2526meid%253D8275147392070295217%2526pid%253D100016%2526prg%253D1006%2526rk%253D4%2526sd%253D111043788878%2526

    Lynx to VGA

Please count me in for the cheap version! I don't see any sense in scaling ultra lo-res to hi-res
  14. The titlescreen is the same, but without the text "Release 3, CES" and the Game doesn't crash like the CES version. The people at Telegames have Done theirselves no favour with copying the wrong Titlescreen from the Web
  15. I own the Official Telegames It is definately not the Ces V3 Prototype that is floating on the net. This Version does Not Reset or has graphic glitches. Really good conversion from the Arcade, but quite hard to Play. It has Not all the Levels of the Arcade Game, but I havent completed the Game on the Lynx yet.
  16. Awesome ! Tempest Is my favourite Games of all Times. The Addition of 3D and motion Control Makes it Even more interesting for the Lynx. I would buy it definately !!!
  17. No. You are mistaken. On the SIMIS card is a Raycasting demo from Bastian Schick. You can only move farward and backward in a tunnel. In the 3ddemo at TAT (www.ataritimes.com) you can move around free and also turn left/right
  18. I tried the last demo of this 3d engine on a real Lynx on an EPROM board. I still have it as a showcase of the Lynx's power. It was amazing to see a DOOM like engine on an 8-bit system !!! It was really playable. Too bad this has never been developed further. I think the developer was Lucien Kleijkers. Sounds like he came from the Netherlands...
  19. You can't really compare them on the Lynx. Sure both arcade games used vector graphics, but the Lynx ports used different techniques to adapt the games: - Hard Drivin' still uses vector graphics on the Lynx. (needs a lot processing power and fast mathematical calculations) - S.T.U.N. Runner on the Lynx uses zoomed sprites, which can be done very fast on the Lynx due to it's hardware scaling abilities.

    Gameboy

Yes, I made Ben the same suggestion via email, but never got an answer. Maybe we should start a petition here to show him that there is need for it
  21. Topic. Source is available here: http://www.geocities.com/james7780/lynx/lynxprog.html
  22. Did someone took a look at the sources yet Can the Steel Talons engine be used for new vector games ??? That would be great
