  1. They will be available for the foreseeable future. The design is in-house and sold only by the ADAM News Network. Currently we have a dozen available and can order and manufacture and populate more cards as needed. The accessory package can be broken up for what you want to buy, and if you want only the card it will come with docs and software. Compact flash card uses ide cable to hook into interface card. The cf card in the parts package includes10-3 mb EOS partitions with almost all CV games known in 2 partitions, SmartBasic is on a partition, ADAM calc is on a partition, Powerpaint is on a partition and various boot blocks for Coleco programs such as SmartFiler are on block 0 for booting once the program is copied to a partition. And TDOS is installed on the CP/M side of the cf card with 4 partitions (30 mbs) for programs..............pricing is on the ANN website for the card only (with software and docs) and the "package" is all the parts at cost to add to the interface card. (the cf adapter card NEEDS power which explains the power supply pictured)
  2. Actually Jim, it is son Doug that is the brains behind the ide card. By loaded onboard CV games, I mean that most all of the original ColecoVision games are loaded into partitions 1 & 2. This was accomplished with a modified MMSG front end and then the player selects the game using the controller to page thru the games and then selects the game to play. Also, SmartBASIC is on a partition, ADAM calc is on a partition, Power Paint is on a partition, and all the original boot blocks for ADAM programs like SmartFiler, ect that MI cards had for the Coleco software is on partition 0. The card works exactly like the MI card and the Orphanware card did (normal industry standard ide protocal) .......................Good idea, I can take a few more pics of the installed card & cf and then post it on the A.N.N. website. That said, any and/or all the parts can be sold individually; or as the package we have put together for a complete setup w/ only the users generic computer power cord....seems everyone has a couple laying around.
  3. The "power supply" powers what, exactly? The 60mb compact flash card? Or are we talking about a replacement for the printer's power supply? Luc, the power supply powers only the ide interface card so that the ADAM does not have to supply power to it in any way. The only thing the user needs to supply is a standard compuer supply cord to plug into the mini card power supply................or we can supply that also for $2

  5. The ADAM News Network announces the addition of NEW ide interface cards to the ADAM community. MicroFox Technologies has mastered a new design of an ide card which fits into slot 1 of the ADAM, just as the MI card did. This card can use an ide hard drive; a compact flash card; a Sparq drive; and a zip drive. ANN has produced a run of cards to make available to the ADAM community . Also available is a package containing a 60mb compact flash card preprogrammed with CV games, calc, basic & powerpaint; an ide cable; a power supply; a power adapter cable; and the boot ddp (or disk) to access the ide device. Goto http://ann.hollowdreams.com and follow the “ANN catalog” link to see what ANN has to offer the cummunity. Also available are the ColecoVision Technical Manual; the Coleco ADAM Technical Manual; the Coleco Programmers Manual; and The Coleco ADAM computer schematics. Free for downloading. they are large compressed (7 zip) files and will take some time to download; but these are the clearest schematics we have seen. They came to us from a long time ADAMite who also donated some goodies awhile back, and we hope some more in the future. Goto http://ann.hollowdreams.com and follow the “ColecoVision Programming” link to see what ANN has to offer the community. I know some of you have asked about clearer documents, these are the ones. Slightly light scans but complete and clear.
  6. Heck, you don't even have to throw out the printer; just take the power supply out of it and THEN throw out the rest of it. The power supply makes a good brick. and they are hardy.
  7. Well then he must have pirated the design from somewhere and doesn't want you to know from where or how. Bummer someone had to try a one upmanship to sell some shirts.
  8. SUPER idea!! Would love to hear from a former Coleco innovator, or manager or whatever he was.
  9. Tis a blown transister in the data drive, I believe it is a 3904 or 3906....and a bugger to fix IF that is all that is wrong. The ADAM News Network website has working data drives for $40 + shipping.
  10. As for disks, I have not had major problems with either 31/2 or 51/4 disks. Maybe I live in a bubble, but I have new disks and also very old used disks as well. Most of my failures are from my own design or using disks in a high density drive. One good resource I have is a very old 286 wannabe with dos 2 which formats and reformats disks great.
  11. SEE?? I can't let go of the drive.....first of all, it is only a single drive with the wire wrapped prototype board next to it in the case (which fits into the cover slots on the ADAM even.....) Besides J-F wants it too, so I can't have you two fighting for it, sadly I will just have to keep it, I guess. YES, I have been in contact with the original SmartBASIC manual author and HAVE his disks on the subject. Written on a Televideo 805 proprietary 500k drive; stored in an attic for 29 years...............have not been able to crack into them yet, but DID present the emails at ADAMcon 24 and the gang got a kick out of his emails. Remind me when I get home this weekend to post them on AtariAge. the guy contacted me thru the ANN website and was blown away that anyone still used the ADAM and that it was still alive!!! If you need the next convention and possibly the one after that completed funded and then some... sell me the 3 1/4" Dual Floppy Disk Drive enclosure! No, seriously. Also, in one of your presentations, you discussed a contact that you made with the person that wrote the ADAM Owner's Manuals (I think this was what I heard you say seeing as the audio was in and out for most of the convention including this presentation). I, and I'm sure many others, would love to hear or read about contacts like this that you have been so fortunate to make over the years through all your hard work, keeping the torch lit while so many others moved on and maintaining a website that gives you great visibility. Any chance of something like this coming to fruition.
  12. J-F !!!! You KNOW that was my cartridge and you just slipped it into your own pocket!!!! BTW, Meeka -Doug's wife won the controller you brought as a raffle prize, of course, Doug is kind of kissing up to here so he can use it, but that is life. THAT was one AWESOME gift you brought for the big raffle THANK YOU !!!! AND it raised more that a few hundred dollars to support the convention!!! You guys are GREAT !!! [bob] Hope so! I was capturing Daniel's panel about making Music on CV .... But I was getting so captivated that I stop recording and focusing on its presentation ...... Sorry, That was a selfish decision from me, as I wanted to hear everything he was saying... Bob's panel was also really interesting, but I did'nt know (at that point) , if I could record video of panels... Now, Bob should already know that I want this damn prototype for the museum! Bob is really a funny man! I already like him Hey Bob, were's my SD cart? .. .... I think somebody stole it! ?
  13. I`m in southeast Michigan and I didnt get mine yet......... Yea!! I got my games today! Now just waiting for the Arcade Controller...... Must be you guys in SE Michigan don'thave as efficient a mailman!
  14. TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Got my copy of Burn Rubber today, and it looks GREAT!! gonna play with it tomorrow. THANKS to JF for producing and Tobvy for shipping; I am one HAPPY camper!!! :-)
  15. Jim, it does actually exist ! I just received a copy in a lot of CV/ADAM stuff from a guy in Florida. The box is labeled "Make A Face" althought the cart and instructions are all labeled Facemaker. Made by Spinnaker listed 1982; what the world happened there is a good question.....possible copyright issues ?????
  16. I can't believe that a lot more gamers have not lined up to buy Burn Rubber. I was it demo'd in Montreal in 2010 and wanted it bad. AS soon as it was up for sale, I jumped in line and paid up, now can't wait to get it and play it!! AWESOME game!!
  17. I would say you did GREAT for a small drive. $60 is an awesome price man!!
  18. Totally AWESOME collection, and very well displayed !!! All my stuff is pretty much in stacks. Bummer........
  19. For original scan of Telly Turtle documentation, go here http://www.theadamresource.com/manuals/index.htm#cart and then scroll down to Telly Turtle. You can print it out for yourself !!
  20. You BET, IF you get way up to Quebec City this summer, I WILL PERSONALLY GET YOU AN AWARD!!!!!
  21. J F, email sent to your gmail box. CAN"T WAIT, been counting the days since I saw the game playing at ADAMCON 22
  22. I would think the pins would make the controller MORE sensitive when the knob was pushed in that direction. Makes one wonder though.
  23. I have a whack of controllers. In testing them, some work flawlessly, some need just a cleaning, and others the keypad is not 100%. My question is to do with the latter. I use a joystick test utility on my ADAM to test these things. Looks like it is either a bad solder joint or one blown diode in the matrix as per another message link to a doc on the subject. I think I will try scavenging from another controller in worse shape to see if that helps. David, found this site while perusing the net and it shows the controller specs and diagrams. MAYBE this will help ya!! http://www.colecovision.dk/technical.htm
  24. Aw David !!!! SHAME !!! Appears you have a controller with slip on wires to the control board.. They are notoriously brittle and break easily. Take more controller apart in order to match it to this controller; this will probably show a couple of wires switched or just plain off. Get it working and either solder the wire onto the correct position or carefully crimp the end down a little, not much or it will break and you WILL have to solder the clip onto the trace. No this is a controller with soldered wires no clips. And if the red wire was not making a cicruit, then I would assume #, 4, 8, 5, and 9 which also use the red wire wouldnt work, but they do. The only glitch on the entire keypad is 0 returns 6. DUDE, that is a wierd one. Just possibly you must use that controller without using the 0 key. It has to be a miswire, jumper crossing over another trace, or just a minor elec glitch somewhere. As long as it works, you may just not be able to pause a game or two
