  5. Haven't watched AVGN in probably 10 years now and was watching Mike Matei on a live stream. Is it just me or is the whole c@ck - fvck and all the rest lingo getting old and childish? I mean yeah it was kinda funny back when the whole AVGN thing started. But watching a guy my age sitting there live streaming games winging about everything cursing like a teenager is just cringy and hard to watch. Half of it just sounds like he's putting it on and faked anyway. Really drops the content quality as there is many better non cursing you tubers these days. Im just thinking the whole "angry gamer" thing has ran it's course...

  6. Got rear ended at a stop light today. Other driver nailed me at high speed and threw me in the intersection. Shockingly, my car suffered....a cracked bumper and nothing else! His is totaled though.

  7. I EFFING HATE iPhones. Every time I get one to work on, I have problems doing even the simplest of things ... like transferring photos to the PC and deleting them off the phone. Why are Apple so bad at this?

To be fair back when i was working on them the 7 was only just released towards the end of my time. So 90% of our clients had 4,5 and 6's which from a hardware repair standpoint were basically identical processes for screens, batteries and cameras ect. IIRC the 7's screen ribbon was on the top rather then the side so was something to note when removing the screen to prevent tearing the ribbon. As for software yeah iTunes was on the mac we had there for the sole purpose of data recovery with a 50/50 chance of actually working. Otherwise it was another 50/50 chance on a windows rig with a bunch of "kinda dodgy data recovery hacking tools". Lets not even mention the security measures Apple had in place. Even as a legit company and understandably, our clients would get wary about us asking for iTunes passwords ect. On the other hand data recovery for Android was a breeze in comparison with an lot higher success rate. It was love/hate job depending on the phone. Hardware repairs preferred for iPhone yet software for Android. Not too sure about these days though

I did phone repairs as a job for a few months. iPhones are a funny bread, when it comes to anything hardware like screen, camera, battery ect replacements they're actually incredibly easy. Across the model ranges they're relatively all the same with minor changes and repairs can be pumped out in no time compared to androids that are all different. However like you have mentioned the software side is a complete nightmare. They purposely try to make it near impossible to recover files unless you have the propitiatory software that only Apple techs have. The place i worked was a legit store but in order to recover the files we needed to use hacker tools... I mean i get it, it's a security thing but far out even us techs had to result to hacking tools downloaded from the net that would later become obsolete when a new model came out.

All good Gold, AV quality looks a bit average on my TV though. Not sure if it's my TV, the system or im just not used to AV as i haven't another AV TV to test it on. DPC+ ROMs don't seem to work either, however i wasn't able to update the firmware which im guessing due to only having nothing less then a 16gb SD card. Atleast i got the system though haha

  12. Love my 16bit racers : Test Drive - Brilliant : Nigel Mansell - No worries : Micro Machines - Easy : Road Rash - Now we're talking : Lotus 2 - Punishment! It's funny because i have such fond memories of the game yet it's just so damn hard. It's like Kaboom, where it takes that complete blank state of mind with full concentration to play well.

  15. Emulation is elegant, convenient, reliable. Sophisticated and versatile. Just thought I'd let everyone know that.. leaving.gif.38de66ba5812c345cb8b59c46607b54f.gif

Personally i think emulation is perfect when it comes to actually playing games. Obviously real hardware is all about the experience, however unless you're a collector with a tonne of games it's just not feasible IMO. The last time i hooked up real hardware it was fairly lackluster for me to be honest. The drop in picture quality and overall experience just made me appreciate emulation all that much more. Emulation in most cases suits my needs these days. The only part i miss is looking at the carts and having the physical box art ect. That's my opinion anyway and im sure many prefer real hardware over emulation. There is only one thing i want with real hardware and that's my homebrew on cart. Even then that's just to display on a shelf :)

  16. I find it interesting on forums (Not AA specifically), when a "Debate" devolves into an "Argument";  It usually starts when someone presents their Opinion as Fact, or acts as though their opinion is better, the best, or the only opinion that matters...

Absolutely Gold! As soon as someone starts going bananas with a song and dance to try and make their point more valid they lose my interest. No matter if they're correct or not there is ways to have a civil debate. There is nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree and having a discussion. On the other hand there is no need to have a cry about spilled milk. Some of us like our Asteroids in black and white mode ?

One things for sure, alot people on the internet have next to no filter as to how they talk/treat people verses faces to face in person conversations. I think the safety behind a keyboard reviles who is truly an asshole at heart and who isn't.

@GoldLeader I got the Flashback 9 for $90 off that facebooks listing. So yeah im cheering about that, i hadn't noticed till later that the system is AV rather then HDMI. That's all good though, i have AV input on the TV and it has an SD card slot. So i can't win them all :) Having said that im still yet to plug it in and start updating the firmware and testing my ROM's. Im thinking the AV quality will be clear enough so no biggy. Thanks for the offer though, very thoughtful mate ?

@GoldLeader Thankyou! That's a very kind offer and much appreciated. Fortunately the missus has found a source on the Facebooks market place that say they have one. They are willing to sell the unit at a decent price tomorrow, so it's just a matter of seeing if it's the correct model. However i will keep your offer in mind and get back with an update on this status if anything should go pear shaped for some reason. Thankyou very much for the offer ?

I agree, i was willing to bid alot more however no one had bid except for one other buyer days ago. Was waiting all week for this item and didn't look like anyone wanted it. The seller would have got alot more out of me if it was like a normal auction...

Thanks CPUWIZ sorry, im a little heated over it lol. Keeps happening everytime and i would just buy one outright if people wern't asking $300+ for them. Might look into this sniper setup you're talking about. I out bidded one guy in the last 5 seconds then another came in with a bid at the last couple of seconds to snatch it up. ?

  24. So does anyone know what the best Flashback units are for modding? Alot of posts are couple years old so im confused as to what would be the best bet. Also would it be the better choice going with a 7800 flashback? Can they be modded to play both 7800 games and 2600 games?
