  1. I recently bought a lot of assorted games from RASK1904 (2600, NES, Super NES and GameCube). Thanks for a good deal and a smooth transaction.
  2. Recently bought a bunch of games for various platforms (SMS, NES, N64, O2, Sega CD and Saturn). Cut me a good deal and shipped the games quickly to Canada. All is in order and I'm very pleased. Thanks from a satisfied customer.
  3. Bought a small lot of Colecovision games. The set arrived promptly and worked fine. Another satisfied customer. Thanks!
  4. Bought a Dreamcast and controller from Yurkie. The lot shipped quickly, was packaged properly and works like a charm. Very pleased! Thanks again.
  5. About 10 years ago I picked up a bunch of Master System games at a pawn shop in my hometown. It was pretty unusual to find anything there predating the 16-bit era, and they were only $3 each so I was excited. Among the games was Out Run 3-D in its box. I recall posting a "brag" about it on RGVC and getting some rather impressed responses. I'm not even exactly sure what it would fetch -- not much more than $30 or so, I'm guessing -- but it's pretty uncommon just the same. Incidentally I still have it, but I've yet to acquire a set of SegaScope glasses so I've never actually had the "full" experience.
  6. Bought a copy of Mega Man X2 from true2life. Everything went smoothly, the game shipped quickly and I'm very pleased. Thanks!
  7. Bought Chrono Trigger and a couple of 2600 games. Very smooth transaction and a great deal to boot. Thanks!
  8. Purchased a mixed lot of games (5200, CV, PS1 and PS2). Great communication, games arrived quickly, matched the description and worked great. A pleasure doing business!
  9. Bought three loose TG-16 games from Jason. The games arrived quickly, were packaged securely and worked great. He even sent along a partial shipping refund when the cost turned out to be less than expected. A pleasure doing business with you!
  10. I had a surprising but not too exciting find at a Sally Ann today. I had looked around the store a couple of times and didn't see anything beyond a couple of PlayStations. On my way out I happened to glance at a CD rack and noticed one case with a green and black sticker on the spine. It was Super Volleyball for the TurboGrafx 16, with both its case and manual. I'm not sure I've ever seen a TG game in the wild before, and even though it wasn't anything special, I had to grab it (and then did a quick scan of the rest of the CDs to make sure I wasn't leaving behind any other TG games). When I brought it to the cashier she opened it, assuming there'd be a CD inside. She looked at it and asked me, "What is this?" After a quick explanation she gave it to me for $1.99. Like I said, not too exciting, but a bit of a nice surprise.
  11. I recently bought a mixed lot from FujiSkunk -- 2600, 7800, NES, SMS and Genesis games. Took the care to send me photos of the entire lot before I made my purchase. All the items worked on arrival. The lot was packaged properly and sent promptly. Thanks for a good deal and a smooth transaction!
  12. I understand that some, but not all, copies of Cosmic Ark will allow you to toggle the star field on and off using the color/B&W switch. I'm not sure if any other games use it for similar purposes.
  13. Umm, both of those games are great..especially for a buck a peice. Of course they are -- and I should have clarified this in the original post -- but I already had copies of both of them. Like Chuck said, I guess I felt somehow driven to rescue them more than anything else.
  14. Not too long ago I was at a yard sale where I purchased both Base Wars and Super Mario Bros. 3 simply because they were the only games to be found there. They were also cheap -- a buck apiece, I believe -- but if there'd been other, more desirable games there, I would have left these two behind.
  15. I'm just getting into the 7800 and, like most of the others, so far I'd have to say it's Food Fight. But I'm open to trying new games and hoping I'll find some other unique classics on there.
  16. Made a quick stop at one of my usual second-hand haunts in Saskatoon today and picked up Castlevania Bloodlines on the Genesis for $3.99. Very nice considering most of the games there are usually PS1/PS2 or newer. This time they even had a couple of NES and Intellivision games, but only very common titles at absurdly high prices (SMB/DH for $7.99 and so forth).
  17. Just bought a bundle of 2600 games from captmorgandrinker. The games arrived quickly, packaged properly and worked fine. A pleasure to do business with you!
  18. That's awesome! Such an interesting jumble of things. Whenever I see a pile like that I'm always curious to know how that stuff all ended up in one place. I see the odd 5200 and 7800 cartridge in there, despite the fact that all the consoles are 2600s. Reminds me of a call I got from a family at church once, asking if I was interested in a box of "Atari stuff" they'd found. Not knowing what to expect, I of course said yes. They gave me a huge, dusty box that looked like it'd been kept out in a barn somewhere, but inside were piles of loose games and joysticks. There was a dead 2600jr in there, as well as a working Colecovision with the front silver label missing. There was also a 7800 cartridge or two in there -- Pole Position II, I think, nothing fancy. But all in all it was a great surprise. Anyway, looks like there's lots of fun stuff in there, and it's always nice to be remembered by friends and family when they come across something like that.
  19. The other day I was talking to an acquaintance of mine who mentioned that he had a TurboGrafx-16 as a kid. I was curious since I'd never met anyone who actually owned one back then. He explained that he asked for it as a Christmas gift (in '89 or '90, I'm guessing). He had an NES and wanted a next-generation system, but of course, the Super NES wasn't out yet in North America. He was still "a Nintendo guy" and wasn't interested in owning a Sega Genesis, so the Turbo was his only real option. Later, he told me, he did end up switching to Sega once he realized he only knew one other person who owned a Turbo. That, and "the sports games were much better." Anyway, this got me to wondering if anyone here had a similar experience. Probably many of us have since acquired obscure systems after they faded from the market, but I'm interested in stories of people who owned them back in the day -- e.g. someone who had an Astrocade or an Arcadia in the early '80s, or a person who had a 3DO or a CD-I in the early '90s. I figure this could draw out some interesting stories -- so who wants to start things off?
  20. According to the Blue Sky Rangers site again, the INTV System III was actually based off the original model, so that explains why the Coleco games work on it. http://www.intellivisionlives.com/bluesky/games/credits/intv.html I recommend you look around that site further... lots of helpful information and fun trivia, and you'll probably find more of your questions answered there.
  21. As a Gemini owner myself I can confirm this. Hard to say exactly because of the blurry picture, but that's what it appears to be. The Gemini's controllers each have both a mini-joystick and a paddle, so you'd have to link them together with one of these for two-player fun.
  22. Mattel specifically designed the Intellivision II so that certain Coleco games (Donkey Kong, Carnival, Mouse Trap and Venture) wouldn't work on it. However, this also had the unfortunate effect of making the system incompatible with one of their own titles: Electric Company Word Fun. More information from the Blue Sky Rangers themselves: http://www.intellivisiongames.com/bluesky/hardware/intelli2_tech.html
  23. Picked up a PSone yesterday afternoon at the Sally Ann in Saskatoon for $20. Came with two controllers, all hookups and a memory card. But best of all, the previous owner had left the last game inside: Tomba! Yes, just the disc, but I can live with that. Same place had bizarre pricing on their other games though. Wanted $20 for Jeopardy! on Sega Genesis. In the box, but still...
