  1. For me, the Wii U beats the PS4 & XB1 in one major area: I don't have to install Wii U disks to a hard drive to play them. And I don't have to fool around with hard drive space for multiple games I might be playing. My son let me borrow Wolfenstein for the XB1 the other day and it took a loooooooooooong, loooooooooong time of disk crunching before I finally got a message that I could start to play the game. Wii U... just pop the disk in, play, and enjoy. IMO, Nintendo hasn't done everything wrong with the Wii U.
  2. Anyone have the game cartridge (I don't have the Jag CD) Painter for the Atari Jaguar? If so, please send me a PM as I'd really like to have this game!
  3. Just in case anyone here has CoD: Black Op's II for Wii U: Activision just released an update providing Wii U owners the Nuketown 2025 map. (better late than never) And rumor has it that another map or two will also be released.
  4. Yes, you can change your account at any time to family. I have been a Club Nintendo member for years and changed my membership to family just last year. I haven't used any coins to buy items in quite some time because, frankly, there is only like 5 items listed for purchase and I'm not interested in them. I have been hoping that the Luigi statue would return but I guess its gone forever.
  5. I have 7 games for my 3DS XL so I'm not a collector for it. I carry it in one of the Nintendo pouches you can purchase for coins from Club Nintendo. No screen protector or anything else to protect it. I do turn it on and carry it in the car on out of town trips just to see how many spot passes I can get (I've gotten quite a few from several states) I play it occasionally but not on a regular basis.
  6. Daytona... I ran into a similar situation when I purchased a 2nd Wii U: Nintendo wouldn't let me register it since I already had a Wii U registered to my account. So I made my account a family account instead of individual, set up my wife as an additional user under the family account, and registered the Wii U under her name. Result: the 160 coins were added to my account. I did the same thing with Lego City: I had registered it, then lost the game somehow so I bought it again very cheaply at a flea market. Nintendo wouldn't let me register the 2nd copy since I had already registered one copy. So I logged in under the account I made for my wife, registered it, and voila: the coins were again added to my account. You can make multiple users with the "family" account and register games under any of the names.
  7. I was going by several articles I read that said there was no online player mode: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/hyrule-warriors-doesnt-have-online-support-hstead/1100-6421443/ If Nintendo has announced something different than what the articles state, I stand corrected.
  8. I'm not sure what this means or if it is true but take a look: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/reports-of-unrest-at-nintendo-claims-management-plotting-iwata-toppling/0136352
  9. I hope you are not only right, Austin, but that things get better. But I still have to wonder that after posted loss after posted loss, will the share holders continue to keep footing the bill.
  10. With the recent announcement that the upcoming Resident Evil HD remake is hitting all consoles except the Wii U, and that there still is no release date for Watch Dogs, I have to wonder if the Wii U can continue to survive on only Nintendo titles. But I also wonder if the lack of 3rd party titles is hurting the Wii U any more than Nintendo is hurting itself : Nintendo just announced that Hyrule Warriors will NOT have online play, only local co-op. Online play is a regular feature of Dynasty Warriors so I'm at a loss as to why Nintendo is doing this. The upcoming Mario Party for Wii U doesn't have online play, only local. Online would seem to be a natural, IMO. And there are other, smaller issues such as a lot of MK8 players (including myself) were disappointed that MK8 didn't use the gamepad for gameplay instead of split-screen or that the VC Channel is lacking in support or that eShop purchases are still tied to a console instead of an account. I like my Wii U; it has some great games and a lot of nice features. It's just sad that, to me, Nintendo isn't making use of those features.
  11. Same in Florida.... you have to present pictured ID and give a thumb print to trade-in or sell at GS. Supposedly its a state law for governing pawn shops but was expanded to cover other stores taking pre-owned items.
  12. Dreamcast is still my favorite system and mine is still hooked up and gets regular use. Reading this thread has been a blast and brings back memories of the many games I enjoy. Lately, I've been on a Sim kick, playing some Civilization Revolution, Tropico, etc and one of the games I really enjoyed on the DC was Railroad Tycoon. This was a great port of the game to a console and the use of the controller was quite good. I also enjoyed the Namco - Atari - Midway compilations, Airforce Delta, Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern, Samba di Amigo (I still have the original pad), Bass & Marine fishing, Rainbow Six, Speed Devils Online Racking, and many, many more. I also think I'm one of the few who really enjoyed Blue Stinger. It was a great play while waiting for Code: Veronica.
  13. Anyone checked this out yet? I gave it a look today and while I'd be interested in playing some of the titles they have online, I won't pay $2 - $4 for 4 hours or pay even more for longer rental periods. Even Redbox at $2 for 24hours is a better deal than this. I'll really give it a look and a tryout if a monthly subscription was offered (depending on price, of course) but this current set up is a "I'll pass, Thank You" for me.
  14. With the slow release of 1st party games and almost nothing on the 3rd party front this year, I have no idea why Nintendo isn't flooding the VC Channel with games to tide Wii U owners over between 1st party releases. Nintendo promised games from the vast N64 library and putting out some of these games on a regular monthly schedule would give Wii U owners something to play now and maybe put some money in Nintendo's pocket from sales. I'd love me some Ogre Battle 64, StarCraft 64, Duke Nukem 64 and Zero Hour, Command & Conquer, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Doom 64, Gex 64, or many, many other titles I haven't played in a long time. I have been a holdout on buying from the eShop because of purchases being tied to a console instead of an account. But open up that N64 library, Nintendo, and I'll open my wallet.
  15. I am a sucker for certain Collectors Edition or Limited Edition goodies. A Halo or CoD or Assassins Creed LE/ CE doesn't faze me in the least. But something from Nintendo, like the MK8 Blue Shell LE, or some of the Alien LE/CE's that were put together I want. The best collections, IMO, were anything released by Working Designs. Man, they put together some great Lunar sets for the PS.
  16. Transferring data between two working Wii U consoles... others may use this feature if they have two Wii U's in the house, but I don't foresee myself ever using this feature. The only reason I'd buy a 2nd system is if my original breaks, and then its too late to transfer data. Instead, I keep hoping and hoping and hoping that Nintendo will finally tie eShop purchases to an account instead of a console. If I go to Club Nintendo, anything I purchased for Wii, Wii U, and 3DS is listed there (and waiting for me to review it) so Nintendo certainly has the capability to tie purchases to an account right now.
  17. I recently started Windwaker HD that I received free for buying MK8. I've actually had the disk version of Windwaker for several months but its the collectible Ganondorf version and I have been reluctant (for whatever reason) to open the box. Now I can play the game. I've also played some MK8. Online can be rough as there always seems to be a LOT of people constantly finishing ahead of me. I just received several Wii U games from Amazon that I bought, all for under $15 each: Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, 007 Legends, Lego Batman 2: DC Hero's, and The Walking Dead Survival Instinct. Between playing WindWaker and MK8, I'll try throwing these in from time to time to give them a look. You might also get on the eShop and download Tank! Tank! Tank! for free. Its not the full game, as Sega broke it up into parts, but you can pay a small amount of money (maybe $2, I forget) to buy additional parts of the game. You can pick and choose which parts to buy, if any. The game would have been a lot more fun if it was online but you can still have some fun locally. My grandson loves this game.
  18. Don't know why the urge hit me, but I have once more been playing and enjoying Tropico 4 the past couple weeks. Its a blast being El Presidente again.
  19. Not a collector?? Hmmm.... I bet if they offered a cloth map of Hyrule you would kick Earthbound to the curb!!
  20. The battery is awesome. I've noticed a big difference in the number of hours I can use the gamepad between recharges. Games.... to be honest, nothing announced really grab's me that much at all. Capt. Toad I have some interest in; I think I'm the only one in the universe who isn't a Smash Bros. fan; never played Bayonetta and this sequel doesn't impress me too much; Xenoblade maybe; no online in Mario Party so no interest for me at all. Hate to say it but I might be playing PS4 and XB1 quite a bit more this upcoming holiday than Wii U - 3DS.
  21. I'm very disappointed by this years selection of prizes for those that achieved Platinum and Gold status. I own a majority of those games and the ones I don't means I have no interest in them. Yeah, these downloads are free and yeah, I know Nintendo doesn't have to do it.... but after years of having been awarded an exclusive physical item, I have grown accustomed to adding another item to my growing collection of all things Nintendo. At least make the digital download unique to north America, or how about awarding games that were never released in NA like Fatal Frame or Day of Disaster.
  22. God, Nintendo.... why can't you bring the Fatal Frame series to north America????? This new game looks incredible and I still haven't been able to play the last one. GRRRRRRR http://youtu.be/R1rv4GAZoho
  23. GameStop just got exclusive content to Aliens: Isolation as Sega announced that everyone who pre-orders would get the DLC pack "Crew Expendable" (featuring voices from the cast of the original movie) but if you pre-order from GameStop you also get the exclusive "Last Survivor" DLC (again featuring the original cast). Picking & choosing which retailer you purchase from to obtain trinkets (posters, toys, a sticker set, etc) is one thing and I really don't have a problem with that. But parts of a game???? I was very, very interested in this game and have been following its development as I'm a big Alien's fan. But if Sega is going to go down this road of forcing me purchase from a particular retailer in order to play everything I want to play within the game, I won't purchase the game at all. Yeah, I'll cut off my nose to spite my face by doing so, but I refuse to add my money to fund something I oppose. I'll go back to my previous-generation systems to get my Alien fix.
  24. You might want to watch Amazon for deals on XB1 games. They pop up without warning and some are great, such as the currently priced CoD: Ghosts for $20, or the recent Plants vs. Zombies for $18 or Skylanders Swap Force Starter Set for $20, or Thief for $22. I believe I saw Ryse on there recently for $20 or $25 but I didn't grab it because its a game I'm really not interested in. Looking at Amazon this morning, its $39.
  25. Really interesting reading and info; thanks to all for posting. Not complaining, just a random thought: if the Swap figures are $15 each and only open a small area that might take 5min (based on the couple portals I did open) to complete, doesn't that make these the most expensive DLC ever?
