This is my 1st week of retirement, now I'm the boss! I said I would think about uploading a bitmap image and I'm working on it, started yesterday, so far looks possible... If a image is highly complex and detailed and because of the added speed of 19.2k baud it could be faster than scripted commands. I will make it happen, because I can and nobody else will.

Well, maybe... Actually Lonny Pursell has been working on an image viewer for the ST that supports multiple formats (he's the man maintaining GFA Basic). He might be very helpful when it comes to converting images from one format to another for the sake of compressing for transfer's sake. He's lp060 here on AtariAge and I'm sure he'd be happy to help!

For a short while, I toyed with the idea to look for a newer (used) car to replace my 2004-05 Citroën which no longer is able to open the tailgate.
Then I saw that none of the classifieds in the range up to ~$4000 would substantially improve my driving situation, so I'll pass for as long as my old car still moves from point A to B without too much repairs.
Even in the range ~$4000 - $6000, I would just barely improve my car. I suppose for a newer car that hasn't hundred of thousands miles on the meter, I need to up to $8000 or thereabouts, which is twice what I would intend to spend on a used car.-
I found myself in a similar situation. I drive a 2002 Toyota Camry that I inherited from my mom (the only owner) when she passed away 9 years ago. She babied the car. It only has 140k miles and I don't drive much either but need something reliable when I have to make a 2 hour drive (each way) for work every few months.
The repairs were going to be around $5000 (mostly suspension, exhaust and a new gas tank, nothing with the engine) but the mechanic said that there was no point spending money on a 20 year old car...
So I looked around for awhile and found what you did... Even cars in the 9k range were way worse, had more mileage and generally weren't in as nice condition. When one used car salesman recently told me flat out "I got nothing on this lot better than what you'd be driving if you had it fixed, keep yours!" I decided to just go ahead and do the repairs.
There just isn't much of a used car market around here. People are only trading in when their car is literally run into the ground junk with the way our economy is right now.

Today I stopped to help a wet&hurt cat that got hit by a car(?). While waiting, another wet cat showed up. I get the feeling I now own 3 cats, and/or I just kidnapped 2 outdoor cats.

What actually happened is you got played for a sucker.
One cat played the "victim"... the other cat was driving the "car" and the 3rd cat, your cat... put them up to it and has been studying law and will represent them in court if you don't start buying the "good" cat food.
Because we cat lovers all know... you don't "own" a cat.... the cats own you.
It's kind of like how a guy gets married but still calls his spouse "his wife"..... as if he has any say over anything anymore.
