  1. I have a Tandy 4825 SX and I’m trying to figure out the fastest CPU it can handle. It’s a 486 SX 25Mhz and has a removable processor. I found someone who installed a DX4 75Mhz chip, so I know it can go that high. But I’d like to install a 100Mhz or even an AMD 5x86-P75 which is 133Mhz on a 33MHz FSB. But I have no idea if the Tandy can do 33MHz FSB. There aren’t any switches for bus speed, only to tell it if an SX or DX/DX2 chip is installed. The BIOS has a “Bus Speed” setting, but the options are “Standard” and “Enhanced”, so no idea what that means. Anyone familiar with this beast? Thanks!
  2. Hey everyone! I’m the guy who started the petition and frankly I’m not surprised how much traction it’s getting. Look at how much these things go for on eBay. Clearly there’s a ton of unfilled demand! I’m glad Analogue set a realistic goal ? ... I think we’ll have 1,000 signatures by tomorrow! I can’t wait to get my hands on that aluminum goodness!
  3. Back in the late 90s early 00s I called Nintendo and asked if I could buy a replacement 72 pin connector for my console. They replied no you can’t, but we can ship you one for free! I managed to get two of them. Installed one in an NES which I still own, and kept the other unused. Still have the unused one today but won’t be selling it. Aside from bragging, my point is you might be able to find a brand new NOS OEM connector if you look hard enough. That would be the absolute best solution.
  4. If you could have either the original Analogue Nt (second edition with update cart slot) OR the new Nt mini, with price not a factor, which would you buy? I have the second edition OG model and find myself wanting the mini. Mostly just because it has so many extras that the original is missing (multiple output options, Game genie codes, SD card slot, modifiable firmware, etc.). But I would need to sell the original to fund such a purchase. But of course the original has REAL NES chips, which makes it "feel" more authentic, even if that's just psychological since the mini has perfect hardware level emulation. Which would you buy if you could pick one vs the other?
  5. Thank you everyone for your feedback!! Sounds like it'll be an 1040STe or MSTe. Too bad the TT030 is incompatible... looks like I could pick up one of those babies for much less than an MSTe. I currently have an Amiga 1200 I'm working on, but getting games onto it is a PITA. The nice thing about Atari is that I should be able to easily transfer apps onto it from a PC (at least it seems that way, from what I've read so far...) Thanks!!
  6. I've got a bit of a retro computer collection going and have decided that I need to add at least one Atari to the pack. My interests are primarily gaming, but I would like something that gives me flexibility to play with the most software and hardware goodies. I'd love to get a Falcon, but that one might need to wait for now (too expensive and incompatible from what I can tell). The TT, Mega STE and 1040STE all look like reasonable candidates. The TT looks like the most interesting, but I'm also concerned about compatibility. From what I can tell, the Mega STE and 1040STE are pretty much the same machine except in different cases, so both should have an equal level of compatibility to software (please correct me if I'm wrong!!). Mega STE seems like a better choice since it has a HD built in, but again it's fairly expensive. I just picked up an Ultrasatan on another forum, so it would be nice if whichever machine I choose is compatible. Which one would you choose and why? Thanks!
