  1. I just recently found an Atari 400 and an Atari 1200XL for 60 bucks (for the pair and a handful of games and an ATARI 1030 MODEM!! WOOHOO!). I was pretty excited since I've been looking for one for a while, but I'm having a problem with the 1200XL. It appears that there are approx 15 keys on the keyboard that do not work. When you press the key in there is no keyboard input from the BASIC cart. I've used the same cart in the 400 so I know it works. There are a couple keys that when held down will intermittently not work. Is this something that might be fairly easy to fix or should I go take it back. Thanks in advance for the assistance.
  2. I have finally found an Atari 5200, however I do not have a power supply. My 5200 is the 2 port model. I can pay with paypal or cashiers check/money order. Please help!
  3. gunbird 2 is also a pretty good shooter for the DC
  4. technically its the PC version of PD that you unlock, not the saturn version its too bad the game didnt do that well though, i was really hoping to see a new Panzer Dragoon Saga game
  5. i dont think metroid fusion is cute, but its certainly not steriodriffic either the cube is probably the best deal in gaming right now, you can nab a used system for 70-80 dollars these days, and it is by far the least problematic system on the market right now i think its been known for awhile, but the "M" ratings on games really mean its marketed toward an angsty 13 year old.
  6. the six button controller has a "mode" button on the top that when held in while booting the system, it disable the top three buttons if there is a compatiblity problem TJ&E is a great game, but its a lot more fun with two players than one some other stuff to keep an eye out for Gunstar Heroes (Treasure's Debut game) Strider (Capcom Masterpiece) Phantasy Star II and IV Streets of Rage 2 Golden Axe Castlevania Bloodlines Ghouls N Ghosts Fogotten Worlds Contra Hard Corps Virtua Racing Gaiares Thunder Force III Columns Rocket Knight Adventures TMNT - The Hyperstone Heist Sunsetriders while the SNES had prettier graphics, the Genesis did have a faster processor, so it had less problems with slowdown on action games. Also the SNES had a great MIDI sound setup, but it excelled at classical style music. The genny had more of a metalic synth sound. So techno style music sounded great on the Genesis. Games like Streets of Rage, Sonic, and Phantasy Star IV, had great music, and it was stuff that the SNES couldnt do.
  7. It does matter if it was Gamestop or a local store. A deal is a deal. I convinced a little local video game store owner that his Japanese cube was very difficult to mod so he wouldn't be able to sell it for more then 125 dollars even though the US one wasn't out yet. I paid 200 for the system, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race, and 2 memory cards. I had it modded and ready to US games in no time. -Tatton

  9. no, FMVs were used a lot in the PSX generation. its just that they used CGI graphics instead of movies. But nevertheless they were still cut scenes.
  10. LOL!! Yeah, I checked the outlet thing. ^_^x. I moved it to different TVs and plugged in my iPod to be sure that it would charge on the outlet that the atari was plugged into. It turns out that my parents are going to come back down next week so I'm just going to take it home for the week and fix it there. I have all my tools there so I can check the voltage and swap parts out with my other systems so I should be ok. I appreciate all the help!! -Tatton
  11. I have another 2600 at home that I could send them, but home is 550 miles away and I was really hoping that I was just overlooking an easy solution. I'd rather just donate this broken one to Ben Heckendorn if he's still building VCSp's rather then pay money to have it repaired. I agree that it's very possibly just the power supply. I don't have a way of seeing if it is getting power because it's a black 2600. I wish I had my Jr with me, or any of my other equip that I could use to test with. Do you know if Radio Shack has a generic one I can get that will work? -Tatton
  12. Help!! I got a 2600 for my nephews and neices and it just stopped working! It had been working fine, but was turned off and when they tried to turn it back on later it didn't work. When you turn it on there is no change in the static on channel 3 (I have checked the channel 2-3 switch, before anyone asks. ^_^). I have swapped out the RF adapter, and tried different TVs and various games. I opened it up and I don't see anything immediately wrong on the inside (spilled pop, food, ripped out cables, etc that you might find with little ones). I'm at a bit of a loss. The only thing that I can't swap out is the power supply as there is only one here. I have wiggled the cable to see if maybe the cable might have been broken and there is still no result. If anyone has any idea of what might be the problem or has any troubleshooting tips of what I could try next, I'd really appreciate it. This Atari's fate lies in my hands and I only have 3 more days to fix it!! Thanks in advance! -Tatton
  13. That's a good point, but both of those games promise excellent gameplay. For anyone here that is fan of wrestling games, the Def Jam Vendetta is the Aki engine with a gimmick worse then 3-Count in WCW. The Aki engine in my opinion, is still the best wrestling engine ever. The reason it got stuck with stupid rappers is because THQ owns all the wrestling rights and they are too proud of their own engines to use it. Not that I've defended Def Jam Vendetta and brought up 3-count I'm going to go and vomit uncontrollably. -Tatton
  14. My friend found me an original Odyssey in the original box and Magnavox shipping box for $7 dollars at one of the Goodwills. It has a bunch of overlays and dice and the cards for the football game, but it's missing the RF adapter and I've never seen one like it before so I haven't been able to hook it up yet and test it. -Tatton
  15. I'm going to have to throw Prince of Persia into the mix, it's been on almost everything. -Tatton
  16. They should have been really direct and put B Gates on the grave. Well, they could have been honest and put Sonic on it too. -Tatton
  17. I think Sony is just bitter that Heihachi is the best character they could come up with for a exclusive character for Soul Calubur 2. Square is nothing but a puppet company for Sony so it was probably a direct shot at Nintendo. Either that, or it could be that no one would really catch the Erdrick reference so they changed it to make it a little more obvious for current gamers. -Tatton
  18. So, when is someone going to make Asteroids SB for Stella-X so that I can play Asteroids with my Steel Battalion controller? -Tatton
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=3642 If I had a store or something, that would be a pretty awesome deal. -Tatton
  20. I'm looking for a battery for the Philips CDI 370 (Philips first party portable CDI unit). If anyone knows where I can find a battery for it or of anyone has an extra they would be willing to part with, please let me know. I don't have a lot I can really trade, but I'd definately be willing to paypal money for one. Thanks! -Tatton
  21. Do you have the version that they released for the Gameboy Color and the game.com? -Tatton
  22. Didn't they make a Double Dragon fighting game for the Jaguar? -Tatton
  23. Wow. Beatmania, Grover style. -Tatton
  24. I thought that it was supposed to symbolize Mt. Fuji. -Tatton
  25. Christophero Sly - I have the Mac version on floppy, but not the PC one. I have no idea why I picked it, I just started tracking them down and it got out of hand. It was released for the Genesis, Super Nintendo, 3DO, Sega CD, Jaguar, and CD-i. There was a gameboy advance version rumored, but it never came out. z28in82 - That's exactly what I'm talking about. Any luck? -Tatton
