    I was editing the Mame.ini file and the colecovision.ini file in the ini directory.

     

    The developers decided to hide another ini file in the presets directory that was over riding all my settings..... 🙄

    Hmmm. I tried using the command line and I can get it to work.

    But I was trying to use the built in GUI in Mame to load the games because I am doing this in an Arcade Cabinet so the keyboard isn't usually there.

    Is there something special that needs to be done to load roms using the GUI?

    I downloaded the latest version of Mame, the latest software list files, system bios but I cannot figure out how to get ColecoVision working in Mame. I'm pulling my hair out. No matter what I do it just comes up to the " Turn game off before inserting cartridge or expansion module." screen. WTF? How is this thing so hard to get working? 🤔

    Does anyone use the Wico 5200 controller anymore with their 5200?
    To use it you need the Y cable that it came with and through the years I lost mine.

    I posted in wanted that I was looking for replacements and never got a response.

    So that got me wondering if anyone else even used these controllers anymore....

    It's not just with Atari 5200 games IMO. I'm sadly in the same situation with a much larger classic game collection. I need to create some room in my place so I should get rid of my entire collection but while I spent a lot of money and time getting it all, it will most likely end up in the dumpster.

    Mess Vectrex and Colecovision

    I updated to the latest versions of Mess and Messui and I cant get either to load any of the games for Vectrex or Colecovision. It loads my Genesis games fine, of course since I dont use Mess for that. Did something change with Mess or have I lost my mind?

    Question for people who remember the 5200 as a new console

    I got my 5200 right when it was released. It's my favorite system of all time. The controllers did break but otherwise they were fine. Honestly, ALL the controllers from that era sucked. That's part of the charm and nostalgia about that time. The 2600 had that stupid huge stick that didn't move at all with only 1 button, the Intellivision had they lousy disk and the Colecovision had that ridiculous doorknob.
