Mario Lopez is Harlan Sanders in the original Lifetime advert-movie, 'A Recipe For Seduction'.

Anything is possible, but much has been done recently with the character, with mixed reception, from an animated spokesperson, to parodies, to more recently an attempt at earnestness again. That's for the US market. There's was this Japanese comic series, starring a young Sanders as a kind of "Chicken Savior", with love interests. Wonder if the ad, err, mini feature, gets some of its inspiration from that, but in a heavily-toned-down form.

It's only about 15 minutes long or so, about the same length as the old Hallmark Greeting card ads they used to run in the 80s, that successfully turned my heart to goo and made me want to run out and get a card. That's where they got their start as an entertainment company. Of course, chicken inspires very different emotions.

You've probably heard this song several times, especially if you like 80s video-game related movies. but did you know it had lyrics? (try humming it and you might figure out what movie it's attached to.)
Standing together, at the Edge of the World
Nowhere to go from where we are.
Sharing a secret, at the Edge of the World.
This time we may have come too far. From the Life we've known, from simple things and peaceful days.
We've come too far, too far from our familiar ways.Standing together, at the Edge of the World
No turning back from where we are.Searching for answers, at the Edge of the World
And though we're standing on it, we never know how close we are.-
It is War Games. Much of the sound-track consists of screen-specific incidental music, but there is this theme that plays over the closing-credits (I guess one might refer to it as the love theme. )and has a few reprises in the sound-track. Anyways, it's not one I'd typically seek out, but I had a version of it playing in the back-ground and it had a couple variants of the theme, with a sparser, more electronic synth sound, with overlayed voices, playing at the end. It was a bit of a pleasant surprise.

It's a travesty that we still don't have a modern re-release of Sewer Shark. Shoot the tubes, Dogmeat!

So, that new trailer... I like it.
Wait, I like this!?! Am I drugged? What timeline is this?
Looking forward to the film

Yessss!!! A show from my childhood might be coming back! Although I fear they might have just missed the boat.

So I just watched 'Bride of the Monster' directed by Ed Wood and y'know what?.. It ain't half bad actually. I've definitely seen much, much worse.

I think part of it is, is that they are usually shown open-frame, which, for Plan 9 at least, wasn't his intent. He wanted that one shown in wide-screen, with fair cropping on the top and bottom, probably with his notes to the specifics, now lost. So, yes, some of the duff set-pieces and technical faults, often opined about, might have been cropped out, making it just a little more believable. The performances are often frighteningly competent, given how few takes were actually done. There must have been some rehearsal..

This is nuts. The Neo-Geo CD console I bought from eBay was ceased by customs! Why you ask? Great question! After tracking down the phone numbers for the ISC in NY and Customs in New Jersey, I was told there was something wrong with the package and that it would NOT be delivered. I tried to press for more information, but the only thing the customs agent would say is that the in-box contents were ‘questionable’, whatever the heck that means!

I'm also planning to interview/crank call Phil Collins on one of my next podcasts!! LOL His agent gave me his number. Who else loves Genesis here? Not only the console but the band? Been on a real Genesis kick lately. Love both Peter and Phil eras, and Abacab is in my regular rotation!

In case you wanted to know, Star Trek was right. There are many types of intelligent extraterrestrials and most of them have two arms, two legs, and a head (just like most Earth humans).
