  1. Another great sale to a great buyer, great collector, and great guy!
  2. From the message they sent me: Well, that sucks. Especially since I often use Ebay Motors for difficult to find parts. Great way to be customer-focused, Ebay.
  3. Fascinating- even decades later previously unknown or forgotten items (like the Extra Terrestrials Canadian game) can still turn up. There truly is always something new to discover about the 2600!
  4. That must the cause, as I know and well remember all of the game stores around here always had a copy or two on shelves. Though they never did go down in price below $20. I was never interested in paying above that for a simulator sort of game. If it had been a shooter with the level of graphics like what Dino Crisis 3 has, then I'd have gladly payed up for it.
  5. I was watching that, and was confident that it might not get much attention at all, since it was not an easy auction to locate when Ii searched a second time for it. I had a high bid of $36 on it (and was prepared to go to around $150) for the better part of a day towards the end, but the night before or so I knew I wasn't going to wind when I saw it had suddenly jumped up to almost two hundred, and watched the last few minutes of the auction as it went up to $366. I don't think there was shill bidding on that, but it very much surprised me that there was no sniping at all at the end. My guess is a collector who really really wanted it and had a large wallet to back up the desire. Another part of it might be that by sheer coincidence there's another almost identical system (ending soon) up at the same time: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310828085140?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  6. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that they check Ebay prices. Of course, the flip side of that is that some legitimately scarce and uncommon titles that don't get much attention would be marked very cheaply if they were to ever have them...
  7. Cool- and that Battlefront II still is in demand comes as no surprise. It is still one of the few original Xbox games that I've never stopped playing ever since it was released. Out of curiosity though, have you ever seen the Jurassic Park game at that store?
  8. Having returned to buying up original Xbox titles lately, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is one I was figuring I should finally get, since it always seems to make the lists of rarest and most valuable games for the system and I always passed on getting a copy back when Gameflop still had original Xbox stuff in stores. I regret that now, having seen this: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_sop=12&_nkw=jurassic+park+operation+genesis+xbox&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc It ain't that rare, is it???? Just a few years ago there were still plenty copies on Gamestop shelves, and I thought that $29-$39 was way high at the time. Anyone else floored by those sales, or is original Xbox stuff really starting to spike???
  9. I'm late to the response here, but having just gone down this path earlier in the year I would say YES!!!! I may actually be one of the few (even here) who keeps a Channel F hooked up for ready play. 90% of the reason I do is because the built-in Hockey game. Not only can you move up and down, but you can turn your stick and even move all over the screen, including right into the other player's side (who can do the same). Every time I've showed this to friends and guests they've loved it, and the joysticks really work extremely well in controlling this. Hockey alone is worth getting the system for! Speaking of the system, that will actually be your biggest obstacle- finding a fully working one, that is. The original unit has a hard-wired controllers and a hard-wored power supply with a large "wall wart", and an have issues with the buttons, cartridge slot, and internals. The system II model is by far more reliable, but I have not been able to verify this as almost all of the units to come up for sale have been of the original model. It actually took me 3 separate units before I got a fully working model, and that one (which I keep hooked up) was actually one of the very first models from before Fairchild re-named the system "Channel F" from the VES it had been. That all being said, Channel F units (from my experience) are more reliable than the Bally Astrocade, in comparison. When you do get one though, I would HIGHLY recommend using an small adapter that allows for the end of the Channel F's RF cord to be connected to modern coaxial inputs, and instead of then connecting it to a TV run the signal through a VCR (I have my Channel F right on top of one) and use the composite (yellow, red, white) video output of the VCR to display the Channel F games on your TV. I can confirm that not only does that work well with both CRT and newer HDTVs, but it also greatly cleans-up the picture and any "buzzing" sounds the RF might make. As for the other games and collecting, go for it! Only 2 of the games (#'s 19 and 25, both late releases) are truly difficult to find (they're the only two I still need), and only 26 Videocarts total were released in the US. It is not an overly difficult system to get a complete collection for, and the boxes display very nicely with their numbered system and unique artwork and design layout. Of the library I've played so far, most all of the games are at least somewhat fun (if very basic) but more fun and enjoyable with two players. The good thing about most is that they do have different gameplay options that can make for more challenges and (slightly) different experiences. If you do decide to get one, and after you get a working system, get the Multicart available for sale here on AA. That will give you the entire library in one fell-swoop, and if you do decide to go for a complete set from there you will know which games you'll want to get.
  10. Bump, and added the last two Nuon titles I'm looking for! If you've got any of these, you've got a waiting buyer!
  11. RCA Studio II Bingo, Demonstration Cart, Tester I cart (we can all dream, can't we) Finish off the Channel F collection (Just need #'s 19 and 25 CIB) Finish off the Vectrex CIB collection (need Spike, Animaction, Melody Master, the 3 3D games) and get copies of Minestorm II and Mr. Boston no other specific goals
  12. Not Atari related, but I was watching this auction for a boxed Adventurevision with games had no reserve and was over $1K. I go to check on it again and notice that it was ended "because of an error in the listing". I noticed that school-girl was the seller, and am thinking it was just a test auction to see what it would possibly sell for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Boxed-with-styrofoam-Entex-Adventurevision-adventure-vision-3-games-nes-atari-/131065473406?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=6%252FaAcDUFV9UP6b2s9%252FWARqF2Wz4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  13. Just a heads-up, things are only quiet for now. There might well be some more news and discoveries in the weeks to come...
  14. Those B&C prices are pretty much the same as at Best Electronics: http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/jaguar.htm B&C and Best are quite literally your best sources if you're looking to get into the Jag. I plan to be soon, and have been doing some research on the ever-rising prices, which have so far deterred me. Now would seem to be the last best time to buy, while the two veteran outfits still have NOS available. Once they don't you'll likely have no choice other than Ebay prices, which will not get any cheaper.
  15. I don't follow the Jag scene much, but this Craiglist ad for a (converted Playstation) Jaguar Kiosk for $300 caught my eye, and I wanted to give it a mention here: http://smd.craigslist.org/vgm/4185836133.html Maybe it isn't 300 dollars cool, but it certainly looks cool!
  16. Even though the thread is still fresh, here's a free bump for a great seller!
  17. If I see a good deal, either in the wild or as an underpriced Ebay BIN or badly described listing, I'll go for it if it is something I've either been looking for and are interested in playing or to keep as trade material. Or occasionally to flip so as to arrange funds for other items of interest. I can say that within almost all cases whatever money I've spent or received is re-invested directly into other titles both for playing and collecting, so the money is merely shifted around across the greater retrogaming community. The items too- especially if I find stuff locally that I'm not interested in yet that I know would be of interest to someone else, and that I can help them out.
  18. I was wondering: are there any plans for a box to be made for this? I'm considering making myself...
  19. Bump! Grand Slam and Spiders have both been sold, Red Clash is elsewhere, and 3D Bowling and Space Vultures have been reduced in price and a new combo deal is available. Pictures have still been left up for reference purposes, since there doesn't seem to be many at all to be found online.
  20. It's been said already, but: condense the Modern Gaming to Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo add a Vectrex section to Classic Gaming no need for an NES section or for any other systems. All others tend to have their own special forums and sites. Heck, even the Nuon has Nuon Dome and the CDi has cdinteractive.
  21. Still enjoying my multicart, but was wondering if the boxes are ready yet for them. Any news will be good
