  1. Quite rare and in excellent working condition. I acquired it from the original owner. $500.
  2. What's the latest/greatest upgrade for an otherwise stock 800XL?
  3. Anyone have one in decent shape?
  4. This is actually the first time I have opened any drive outside of the internal one on a 1040ST. I didn't even know about the doubler thing until today. I don't know how to verify the eproms and ram but I'm quite skilled at re-seating socketed chips. lol Should be able to attack all of this tomorrow. I appreciate all the help and input.
  5. Yeah, perhaps it just is solder splash. I can't see any cracked solder joints on the SIO ports but I will reflow them all. Looks like it has some sort of doubler mod. Does that look right? Yes, the drive was set on D1. I have used this drive for a couple years and never changed it. Drive just stopped working the other day.
  6. I'm going to order a cap kit and re-cap the entire drive.
  7. Well, the cap at C44 looks a little upset
  8. 1050 always worked fine. Now getting a "Boot Error" on powering up my 800XL with the option key pressed. I cleaned the drive head to no avail. When the DRIVE SELECT switch is to the left, neither SIO port registers anything and the computer boots to the internal diagnostic(With OPTION held down). When the DRIVE SELECT switch is to the right, the right side SIO port boots to the DOS Ready prompt(with OPTION held down) and the left SIO port boots to "BOOT ERROR" scrolling(with OPTION held down) Anyone have any idea?
  9. Doesn't have to be an official Atari one. Any 5ft SIO cable that works is great with me. Thanks
  10. Still looking. Had 2 people try to scam me. Lol.
  11. $150 shipped for all. Paypal F&F only. Thanks!

  16. Thanks but what I'm trying to do is to get them to display on my ST. What is the standard image viewer to us on an ST to simply open pics and look thru them?
  17. Well, I made a bunch of .PI1 files in that online drag and drop one. Now I am having trouble getting them to show on my ST! I'm using "Pick-a-pic" and it displays the image but then blocks the image with a prompt asking me if I want to view more. lol
  18. I downloaded xnview but it doesn't have .PI1 nor .NEO as options. I'm using a Mac. Maybe those options aren't availabe on Mac specifically? I'll try grafx2 next..
  19. Is there any halfway easy way to take jpeg image that I have and convert it to a format that my 1040ST would be able to open and display? Would love to drag and drop it into my Ultrasatan. Thanks!
