Remember when Albert put sales to UK on hold while he got to grips with the new VAT law? Seems the law's backfired spectacularly. 😂 One poor guy got tax bills for 11,000 overseas companies. It's the latest tax fraud by companies selling on eBay and Amazon.

@carlsson: that sounds about right, though IIRC it's also possible for individual countries to have their own regulations outside of the EU ones for VAT and other duties / taxes on imports. My recollection is that it's based on sales volume, but don't quote me on that as it's been some time since I checked.

What's happening in these cases is that HMRC are just one total fuck up of an organisation. All these companies have registered for VAT with HMRC and stolen this guy's address in Cardiff. If they do that, eBay and Amazon don't have to collect the VAT. It never raised any alarms within HMRC that all these companies were registered at the same address. So, by doing this, the companies were charging VAT and instead of paying it to HMRC, they were pocketing the extra 20%. So this poor guy got hundreds of tax demands and was threatened with court and bailiffs for non-payment. HMRC did nothing about it until the guy approached a TV programme.

When you see a sign saying "weak bridge" just as you cross, you suddenly start to feel something leaking out of your butt, no matter how hard you clench.

FUCKING HELL!! WTF? Well, that burst our bubble. Against the biggest rivals as well. Granddaughter's going to be insufferable after this.

Mary had a little lamb who ran into a pylon. 10,000 volts went up its arse and turned its wool to nylon.

Well,
Sharknado is a full-on, produced and completed movie filled with ridiculousness...We laughed pretty hard at it actually. For example, the tornado is spinning around filled with sharks, but then he shoots the sharks, and if he hits one, for some reason it falls out of the tornado, dead. And I say, "Wait! Why isn't it still up there spinning around once it's dead?" LOL, and sharks don't breathe air, anyway, (it goes on ...I think I've watched almost all of those and Bigass Spider, Lavalantula, and 2 Lava 2 Lantula hahaaa...
Velocipastor is more low budget for sure...(Sometimes they left in placeholder words where they couldn't afford the FX haha)
I just watched Llamageddon last night,...Also low budget, fun, and bad on purpose...Although it actually had LASERS and cartoon segments...So it couldn't have been That low budget.

Remember when we used to call the Xbox One the Xbone? Oh, how we all laughed at our stunning wit.

There's going to be a load of angry, bored and frustrated Russians tonight. PornHub has blocked their access.

Ukrainian coming up to a parked Russian vehicle: "You guys okay?"
Russians: "We're out of fuel."
Ukrainian: "Do you want a tow? Back to Russia?"
Total respect to that guy.- Show previous comments 3 more

@bluejay The Ukranian president has massive balls of steel. Unfortunately, either he's being ruled by those balls or he's got rocks in his head. He's agreed to meet for "peace talks" just over the Belarusian border. He's had assurances from arguably the most untrustworthy, slimiest, person on the planet. This is worthy of its own Admiral Ackbar meme.

Why can't Microsoft write game installers that aren't a big steaming pile of Odie crap? Epic and Valve can do it.

@Reaperman I like this presenting style. Reminds me of the kind of tech presenters we got in the 80s. He covered the 800XL not long ago.

@Random Terrain Most people have a car and maybe a hacksaw, right? Depends how desperate you are.

What the hell is it with consoles that hijack the names of retro consoles? ReviewTech USA really went off on one over the Amico.
-
@GoldLeader - He did, just to say he actually went out and bought one after being one of the unit's biggest critics. It's a shame about the Amico, though. It looked pretty cool but, even if it was released, the price would have rendered it DOA.

Those Seagate Beskar Ingot drives look cool. But at up to 3 times the price of regular drives, they'd better be pure beskar.

It's like football transfer season at the moment. First, Microsoft buy Activision, now Sony are buying Bungie. Both for silly money.

Apparently, Jackie Chan's favourite songs are "Ouch I did it again" and "Another Brick in the Balls."

The ancient Greeks had a sense of humour that wouldn't be out of place today. I recommend reading Aristophanes' play, Lysistrata. It's hilarious.

RIP Activision. Your suffering is almost at an end.

@Leonard SmithFor now. It's still very early days. Psygnosis were bought by Sony. A few years later the name disappeared even if the studio didn't. Now, that's gone as well. I get their reason for purchasing it. Activision have a huge back catalogue that Microsoft could pick their way through. It's going to be like one of us going through a deceased retro gaming hoarder's attic.

Got a composite cable for my XLs from Retro Computer Shack on eBay. Haven't had a chance to try it yet but impressed with the overall build quality.
