  1. Posted this in NA a few weeks back, thought I'd share it with a few more collectors. Here is how I found this: The day after X-mas, I got that stupid flu epidemic before it started getting "big" so I was out until that Friday then started feeling better that night. Woke up the next day with an ear infection and that night my ear drum popped. Finally after 4-5 days sitting in the house recovering from that, I decided to hit up the mall, grab some new Puma's and some socks then decided to hit up the game stores not too far away. Besides finding some boxes for NES games and a game I did not own yet, I came across this. They had it for $10 but something seemed really odd about it. Felt heavier than other games and the label on it gave out a weird feeling. I even got the hunch it was a prototype right then when I picked it up. Well 3 screws later and I opened it up to find this inside. I have done some research on this prototype and have found nothing so I am out to believe that this proto is the first to come to surface. So far the first 5 stages that I tried out are the same as the original but some may vary. Looks like my luck turned good after being sick for a week and 1/2 and missing New Years with my lady. Good $10 gamble. Enjoy!
  2. Would something like this: http://shop.vetcosur...products_id=960 be used to replace the inside compartment? Looks cheap and reliable. I cannot tell if this one would work. I need to screw it in to the Odyssey to keep fit but cannot get a close pic to see if it would work: http://www.frys.com/product/2965445#detailed
  3. If anyone out there can help me, it is you all here at AA. I have an Odyssey 300 with no power adapter. Now I would love to purchase one but I have searched in so many places and haven't found anything that can help out. This is option 1. Option 2 would be to replace the battery compartment on the inside that holds the 6C batteries. The tray is cracked on the bottom and the right side where the spring hold the battery has broken off. Replacing this should be cake right? How would I go about doing this? Thanks!
  4. I've been collecting for about 8 years. I have had and played a ton of games as a kid but collection wise, I didn't start until around 2004 or 2005. When I first started I bought from LukieGames and a few other sites which offer free shipping on orders over $25 so I just bought the cheap of the cheap. And my luck, the games I bought were in great condition. I usually ended up with ~22 games per box. Did this once a month until all the games that were under 5 were in my collection. I've bought eBay lots and weeded out what I needed and traded/sold the rest and to upgrade the games that look better than my own. Local game stores here in my town usually have great deals on their games and since in the last few years I have been getting boxes and manuals, this guy who owns 2 of the stores here hooks me up with free NES manuals and cheap boxes. Usually sells me the box for about $2 per. He just sells the boxed game at cart price so he loses nothing in the long run. I've calculated up a good price which my NES collection is worth and it is around $11,000 which I know I have only spent around $6-7000 maybe less collecting over the years. Not bad. If you all need any filler games for your collection. I have a for sale thread here in the marketplace of my extras on NES and other systems.
  5. Thanks for the comments. I tried to collect other systems but I just grew tired of it and kept the games and systems that I grew up with. Although I did grow up playing Atari and Odyssey2 systems every now and then at my grandma's house when I stayed there as a kid, I found the NES was a fun system to collect. Prices on retro games sure are on the rise sadly. Also, I will be getting this tower ( http://tinyurl.com/d6fgunm ) to hold my NES boxed games. My measurements show that 2 DVD's are about equal to 1 NES boxed game. So I figured this bad boy can hold at least ~238 games. Have room for about 16 more on it before I need to get a new one. Only problem is that they are not cheap. Not too expensive though.
  6. So I have decided to post some pictures of my NES stuff. I have around 220 variant cartridge and box CIB's, close to 900 variant cartridges, 60 loose manuals, 8 loose boxes, over 40 different types and styles of controllers, a few complete boxed systems, tons of random items ranging from Super Mario Bros & The Wizard on VHS to an NES controller mint container. And last but not least I will take pictures of my "vs. Dr. Mario" arcade machine when I am done making it look better. First is my CIB collection. Re-arranged this by Game Developer and I have to say it looks pretty sweet. Here is my loose carts. I got lucky and found this shelf being given away and it was only 2 houses down the street. Popped it on my longboard and wheeled it back. Here is the controllers with literally no place to put them but up in the closet. And last is my boxed systems, controllers, misc items.
  7. Hello, NA member here trying out the AA b/s/t market. I collect variants for NES games and would like to buy 3 of your games if you wouldn't mind splitting with them from the lot. I am interested in your City Connection, Al Unser (as of my copy has a horrible label and needs to be replaced) and Jackal. Drop me a PM if you would like to work out a sale on those items. Thanks!
  8. This is my final bump here with this lot. Thank you to the people of interest in the last month on a few of my items and a very big thank you from the help of some people on "Chat". I will ship this entire lot for $200 insured and delivery. All stuff marked pending and sold are not available. WHATS THE MATTER COLONEL SANDERS? CHICKEN?? If you have any questions or offers, pm me. Items will be cleaned to my best ability before I ship them. On the systems, I cannot ship to Canada due to shipping prices unless you would like to pay extra.
