  1. You are correct. Once enough come in to merit the next Stretch Goal, then we'll be sure to send an announcement out to let everyone know. Hopefully, some game news outlets will post stories telling everyone that the campaign was a success, and would be willing to share links to the PayPal donation page. If that happened, that would help speed things up towards the Stretch Goals much faster! And yup! Deja Vu, Uninvited, and Shadowgate were all originally for the black and white Apple Macintosh computer. It's why they are referred to as the "Macventure" series! If you can find a copy of the original Mac versions, then give them a try. With any luck, the campaign's success will convince GOG to host the original games on their site so people can purchase and enjoy them!
  2. Did it really not have Mouse Support? I would have imagined that mouse control would have been important since it'd have been necessary to click and drag items into the inventory, click on the command buttons, and use them. Plus, WHICH PC Version? This was before Windows really took off, so there was an Amiga version, a DOS version, Atari ST version, and if any of them lacked Mouse Support... that would have made playing rather tricky! Anyway, about 3 hours left to go! Still a chance at making the 2nd Stretch Goal! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zojoi/shadowgate
  3. Maybe nothing! The first stretch goal has been hit! Now, to try and get it to $140,000 by Midnight EST tonight so it can be an even bigger game! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zojoi/shadowgate I want to see that goal reached so badly!
  4. You mean less than $1,000 away! Less than 48 hours left on the clock and almost there! There might even be time for Stretch Funding! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zojoi/shadowgate
  5. I should hope so! They're also doing a Reddit IAMA today from 8 PM to 11 PM EST. You can find it here: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/13lf6n/we_are_the_shadowgate_creators_dave_marsh_and/
  6. It’s the final week of the campaign, so it’s now or never! Anyone that’s been on the fence may as well decide right about now since we’re going into the last 7 days with a little more than 25% left to go! I think it can happen, so I encourage everyone to please check out the campaign page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zojoi/shadowgate And share it with as many folks as possible! If you use Facebook, we’re also trying to get the word out more there too, so anyone who can “Like” and “Share” this post here: http://www.facebook.com/zojoigame/posts/440340962692538 Would be helping out a lot! Thank you very much! I want to see Shadowgate and the other MacVentures brought back, including the never before released MacVenture version of Beyond Shadowgate, the official sequel! (Karl talked about it in a small Reddit he did here: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/139wo0/i_am_karl_roelofs_one_of_the_original_creators_of )
  7. It's fair to say that we're concerned too, but then again, we've been concerned since the very beginning, what with running the thing and all that. However, given how far we've come and the time remaining, it's not impossible to make it. It just sucks if we have to come in under the wire because we'd love to do some stretch funding if possible. Still, fingers crossed.
  8. Close. More like say "So" as in "So what?", but with a 'Z' instead of an 'S'. The "Joy" part is spot on!
  9. Oh by the way, Zojoi's Official Forums just launched and can be found here: http://zojoi.freeforums.net/ Feel free to get together and discuss with backers and fans from other forums and around the net. And if you're a backer, you can get access to special Backer's only sections too!
  10. Well this has been the clear intention ever since day one. Puzzles being removed include ones that seemed just silly, obtuse, or out of place; like the only way to solve it was to have a hint book handy. We've had a lot of people ask us NOT to make this a direct port, and state that they want it to be changed up a bit. But don't expect it to have the Murder on the Zinderneuf treatment; each play through won't be different each time. The rooms won't switch places or move around or anything. Otherwise, what would be the point of including a cloth map of the castle? Maybe if we do well enough though, we might be able to make it so that you can get an "Original Layout" version that contains the rooms and puzzles in the new art style, but with the layout of the original game. It's something that backers can discuss in the new forums we're about to launch today. It might make for a neat unlockable after beating the game.
  11. If your concerns are about what it takes to make a tablet version of Shadowgate, then don't worry. We have tablet versions planned for iOS and Android as well as PC and Mac. If you're wondering why the tablet versions are going to be released after the PC and Mac versions, I can't say for certain why since I'm not part of the dev team, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's because the game is being designed originally for PC and Mac with the iOS and Android in-house ports taking the core code of the desktop versions and editing the code and interface to make use of the touch screen. Given the size of our team, we are unable to make both versions simultaneously. Then again, that might change should the KickStarter succeed or do even better than we had hoped. Then we could expand the team and develop at a faster pace. Also, don't forget that the new Shadowgate will have new puzzles, new rooms, and existing puzzles changed to make it challenging for players of the original game. Don't expect your playthrough of Shadowgate now to help you later. We are also working on finding ways to get the original versions of the game out in the wild, so stay tuned for more information on that. The sooner we can make them available, the sooner people can stop having to resort to emulation to play it! What's more, we'll be looking at doing it for all the MacVenture games too!
  12. Thank you! We really want to get pledges moving again. They slowed down quite a bit from when we started, and are looking into ways to get people excited and to pick up the pace. If we can get GOG.com to agree to carrying the games (even if only if we meet a certain condition), that would be something to spur backers on. I'm also hoping Kotaku will cover the Shadowgate campaign too; hopefully.
  13. If we had put all the ports into the pitch video, it would have added another minute or two before we could get to the good stuff. Oh, I should introduce myself. I'm the Official Unofficial Community Manager working with Zojoi on Shadowgate. I'm here to answer any questions you guys might have, share news and updates, and also listen to any comments, critiques, suggestions, etc. that you guys might have. Right now, thanks to the combined efforts of many, many fans, Shadowgate has shot up to the #3 spot on GOG.com's Community Wishlist for Most Votes Earned in the Past Week! That's pretty impressive and puts Shadowgate sitting right behind Grim Fandango! If we can keep Shadowgate in the Top 5, then that should convince GOG.com to carry the original versions of the MacVenture games on their site (and the new one too, ideally!) Hopefully we'll hear back from GOG.com with some good news. Even if they say no, if they also say something like, "If you can do X, then we'll host the MacVenture games", that will still give us something specific to rally behind which will help the KS campaign as well as seeing the originals on GOG.com. All the links you need are in my signature, so they won't be too hard to find at all! Thanks again for all the support so far, and here's hoping for a huge Shadowgate success!
