Opcode has said that he will begin the pre-order process once the first batch of units have shipped out. He is hoping that the second batch will be ready in the summer.
The criteria listed in the first post are the musts. It narrows it down a little and gives me a place to start researching. I added later on that game wise I own an extensive early 80's game collection already. So I am looking for a computer after 1985. ( or that continued making games after that point)
The knob is missing on my Vectrex for the On/Off Switch. If anyone has one they are willing to part with for a decent price please PM me. (Yeah I know this is a bit of a long shot)
Atari2600.com sells a couple vectrex games for only 8.00 a piece so that might be an option as well. Someone told me that empty intellivision carts work as well for some of the vectrex multicarts. (Don't know if its true or not) I bought a copy of blackjack for the intellivision for 2.00 on ebay and when my multicart arrives I'll give it a try.
Yeah i remember buying one in the 1990's for a dollar at a garage sale. I also remember buying a colecovision with 20 games for 10.00. That was before there was much of a collectors market.
When i am ready to buy i think all go with a c64. I think the late 80's software interests me as i already have a decent reflection of the early 80's in other collections. I saw on a review a device that hooks up a c64 to a modern computer so you can play games from the harddisk. Is that what you mean by disk emualtion? How would you go about buying one of these?
I noticed on your website that you are planning on releasing another game for the Colecovision this month called "Shifted". Do you have any video of this game being played? Do you still plan on releasing it this month?
Does anyone know of a good north american website for purchasing either atari or commodore computers? If possible id rather buy from an experienced seller and not ebay.
I dont like the fact that you have to have a working printer to use the adam. I also already collect coleco games and other than those the library seems small. I remember using a c64 when i was young as well. I dont remember playing games however. I remember learning some basic. I honestly didnt know that atari made computers till joining this site. I remember using a spectrum emulator a few years back. Is it a good platform? Is there an sd multicart available for the c64?
If i was to purchase a classic computing system what would you recommend? As a child i owned a vic 20 and i used the apple two at school. I would prefer something that uses disks or carts and not cassette tapes. I would like something that has or had a strong homebrew following as well. I would prefer something i could hook up to a tv or a modern computer monitor. Shipping is horrible in canada.
I bought a 72 in one multicart from andrew colemen last week. Its only about 15 dollars more so i personally would buy that one instead. I had a conversation with the maker of vecmulti recently and he is planning on another release soon. I believe that one is 85.00
The current going rate appears to be over 400 for an unboxed imager. I dont think i will be purchasing one anytime soon. The lightpens are expensive too but there is a cheaper homebrew version.
Crazy Coaster requires the 3d imager to work properly. I couldn't find any links to any video on youtube. I think it would be difficult/impossible to film using an imager. This page talks about the imager http://vectrex.wikia.com/wiki/3D_Imager
