The 3D models were optimized, and the size of the rendering area was reduced from 320x200, to 320x160. It was done because the cockpit will cover 40 pixels at the bottom of the screen, and there is no point in rendering stuff there that won't be seen.

what 3D model optimizig you are doing?
what specs on the models are beneficial for this 3d engine?

I hope to start seeing some 3D homebrews as well in future. I think the engine of the Atari 3D demo is some kind of usable starting point, at least for learning how 3D could be done on the Jaguar.

I think the atari 3D engine renders "better" visuald in terms of Resolution and texturequality, (perspective correct textures) and also some kind of filter as seen on hoverstrike cd

  3. ok i found it, and took a look at it.
    seems quiet usefull..

Well, I will make a longer answer later (on my phone, boring), but you can start by looking at Raptor examples (2 of them use rmotion).

Ok thanks, found it, took a look at

    seems easy

if you still have some rmotion docs, feel free to share :-Da

  4. nice release, thanks

i will take a closer look at, maybe this time i manage to start coding a little.

    little question..

    the rmotion.exe is for animation
is there a little more information about it? i found not much details at included documentation and here at Atariage

    best regards

  5. Was looking into SuperCross3D last night and it's interesting to note SC3D was the programmers first game for any system. Same with a lot of early games on the Jag. I mean no disrespect to the guys who created these games as you clearly have to start somewhere but that somewhere and lack of experience/talent really hurt Atari.

That tells me, a more experienced Programmer would be able to provide much smoother framerate.

Also more experienced on Jag Hardware in Detail would be an aditional benefit.

The game itselfe is good but the framerate is a bad heavy impact overall.

  6. thanks for sharing,

    first feedback from my CMD:

This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows".
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

is there a dll missing? i placed all dlls in same folder as the VJ

    fast goolge results: qwindowsd.dll ??

  7. Big IF and then segway to a sequel as if small teams have a chance to do back to back development in such short notice.

Also if you immediately announce the sequel with improvements you may alienate some buyers that just bought the damn thing .... without improvements you already knew you could put in (a "crappy" prequel basically) ... right??

boy, please do not tamper sophisticate my posts anymore

(i dont post in bold red or underlined or yellowgaymargentaorange or something else)
