The 3D models were optimized, and the size of the rendering area was reduced from 320x200, to 320x160. It was done because the cockpit will cover 40 pixels at the bottom of the screen, and there is no point in rendering stuff there that won't be seen.
what 3D model optimizig you are doing?
what specs on the models are beneficial for this 3d engine?- 1

I hope to start seeing some 3D homebrews as well in future. I think the engine of the Atari 3D demo is some kind of usable starting point, at least for learning how 3D could be done on the Jaguar.
I think the atari 3D engine renders "better" visuald in terms of Resolution and texturequality, (perspective correct textures) and also some kind of filter as seen on hoverstrike cd

I tried to preorder.
There is a "Checkout with PayPal"
Do you really want to enter my PayPal password on your Website?

no, it couldn't have saved the Jag. But it was amazing at the time.
Yes BIWN was amazing at this time!!
There was also a company calld Rockstar and they developed several years later a very similar game called Grand Theft Auto (with a little less 3d and no FMV)
Nowadays we know this game "saved" Rockstar and they are one of the biggest Videogame Developer Studios in the World

The game works?

2 player split screen mode would be epic ... or 4 player teamtap

impressed
what tech did you use? some libs, api?

Was looking into SuperCross3D last night and it's interesting to note SC3D was the programmers first game for any system. Same with a lot of early games on the Jag. I mean no disrespect to the guys who created these games as you clearly have to start somewhere but that somewhere and lack of experience/talent really hurt Atari.
That tells me, a more experienced Programmer would be able to provide much smoother framerate.
Also more experienced on Jag Hardware in Detail would be an aditional benefit.
The game itselfe is good but the framerate is a bad heavy impact overall.

if you would hide the map like avp and then the player discovers step by step i think you get deeper gameplay with more focus on the upper 3d part.
also more action

impressive.. great idea

rotate and zoom in our out while they get blown away would look good i think

Can You provide us your modifications for testing?
-
yes, not Starcats Jaguar, he is not from greece
Sad to hear orion, but completly understandable. I hope you find a good IT job soon.
Maybe you find the way back to the jag when the SD Cart is available.

Big IF and then segway to a sequel as if small teams have a chance to do back to back development in such short notice.
Also if you immediately announce the sequel with improvements you may alienate some buyers that just bought the damn thing .... without improvements you already knew you could put in (a "crappy" prequel basically) ... right??
boy, please do not tamper sophisticate my posts anymore
(i dont post in bold red or underlined or yellowgaymargentaorange or something else)

think BIWN would gain the JagCD and also the Jag Sales at that time for sure.
If the final game would be good and you immediately anounce the sequel with improvements you could raise the sales
Sequel because sony, sega and nintendo would not take a lot of time to bringe an answers with their development horsepower

Countdown me for a copy
