  1. I'll send you a friend request, it'll be from SmasherBlaster. Looks like people aren't really interested though. At least you'll have my gamertag so if you get the game in the future we can hook up.
  2. I'm still interested in getting an AA deathmatch game going tomorrow afternoon/evening/night. I need some more of you with the game to send me a friend invite so when I make a private room I can send out game invitations. Anyone up for it? Also, I'm up for co-op as well. I'm working on Hardcore difficulty right now, so I'm still learning.
  3. Would anyone be interested in getting a group game going on Saturday? (or Friday night for us losers out there?) I would also be interested in doing some co-op with people from here. Let's get something going!
  4. I'm online now. SmasherBlaster Probably interested in some co-op GOW before I delve into deathmatch.
  5. Got my router working finally. Had to go to a direct address and reconfigure my internet connection, something about ports. Luckily the company's (d-link) had a nice website with an internet connection wizard that did everything for me. But none of that info was on the installation disc, that's pretty bad. Oh well, I got it working, I'm happy now. edit, oh and yes it did require me to 'login'. It did some stuff that I had no clue what was going on, but it was all automatic, like copying my MAC info (not Macintosh)...WTF? Just a bunch of different numbers to me. Anyway, it was an experience.
  6. Man I just bought a router and cannot get it to work. I followed all the installation instructions, and the installer goes through all the motions up through the step of 'configuring' the router, and then on the final step which is 'verify internet connection', that step fails every time it gets there. I just don't get it, I'm pissed off at the amount of time I've spent tonite trying to get this thing going.
  7. Ok thanks for clearing some of that up. So from what I understand from jay, all things being equal, if the price of a wireless router is the same as a wired one (which they are for the most part), I might as well grab the wireless router, simply for the added potential later on. But I can use a wireless router AS a wired router, that's great. Thanks for the tips guys, I'll keep all that in mind when I decide to buy the stuff I need.
  8. I use the ethernet port on my PC to connect my modem. However, I have room, what if I bought another ethernet card, could I plug my 360 ethernet cable into a whole new card on my PC and bridge those connections? A router is $50, a new ethernet card is only about $20.
  9. You want a wireless router. (or a non wireless router if you don't want wireless access) Plug the DSL modem into the router WAN port (Typically a crossover cable but some newer ones auto configure) Plug the PC into the router LAN port Plug the XBOX into the router LAN Port You will have to use the router to log onto your DSL modem. Most DSL routers come with a manual that explains it pretty good. Your PC no longer logs in the DSL modem. p.s. you can setup everything for DHCP so IP address are automatically issued to your PC and XBOX. Thanks for the help, I dont understand the wireless thing though. If I get a wireless router won't I have to buy that expensive $99 wireless adaptor for the X360? Or do wireless routers have the dual option of using them as regular wired routers if I want? Or is there wifi in the X360 that will automatically connect to the router or what? I'm kinda confused, but there is a wireless router on sale at Target right now for $49...Linksys I think.
  10. Need some help guys. I probably need to get connected to Xbox live soon. I only have the Modem I use for my DSL to PC. Am I going to need to buy a Router? And are they easy to setup?
  11. Other than some of the motion sensing, what perks does PS3 offer over X360? Just the selection of games? 1080p

  15. Bear with me and please read my story, I wonder if others have the same feelings. I knew I wanted one of the next gen machines. Like many people, I was on the early bandwagon for the Wii all summer long and through most of this fall, I thought it would bring something exciting and new to gaming. I was willing to overlook some of it's big flaws such as the low-powered processer, and the lack of High Definition support. Nintendo was playing a delicate balancing act with consumers, basically saying that their product doesn't have to be state of the art, as long as their prices were considerably less than the competition. Sounded fair to me, a few months ago. The first whammy against the Wii was the announcement of the $250 launch price, with a crummy pack-in game, harkening back to the days of NES Super Mario/Duck Hunt. Don't get me wrong, obviously SMB is a great game, but now we have to look forward to a Billion copies of Wii Sports in the coming years...that's just annoying. If it isn't obvious enough, that just screams that Wii Sports isn't a good enough game to sell on it's own merit. I've always liked the idea of giving the consumer a choice of pack-in, not ANY game, but choose from 3 different games or something, like the Neo Geo did, or I'm sure some of you remember the awesome 3-game 'Virtua' pack that you got with a Saturn purchase. But yeah, the suprise $250 launch price was something that first started to upset that balancing act Nintendo is going for between technology/value. All of a sudden the X360 started to become an option to me. Next, the worst possible scenario for Nintendo happened. I, the consumer was able to compare all 3 consoles, the X360, PS3 and Wii, side by side in full HD at the local Best Buy. I saw Wii Sports in all it's low-definition glory, right alongside Gears of War on X360 in full 1080i. I was quite impressed with the PS3 I must say, but since you can't even get one, and since the X360 has a pretty well established list of games to choose from, I was able to easily ignore the thought of getting a PS3. I'm also interested in getting an HD-DVD player. I am actually choosing HD-DVD because I have read a considerably larger amount of positive reviews of the film transfers, as opposed to Blu-Ray, plus overall I've seen more movies available for HD-DVD that I like than the other. This was the final point that convinced me to buy the X360. I can kill two birds with one stone, as you can now get the HD-DVD add-on for only $200. A standalone player will still cost me $400, so I figure ultimately when it comes time to buy the add-on, I'm saving $200. Nintendo ultimately pissed me off with their lack of HD support this generation, it really is that big of a deal to me. I have a nice HDTV and I want to utilize it, and the X360 will give me that, plus it actually has games that are truly next-generation with Gears of War. Nintendo just didn't make a big enough leap to justify $250. X360 justified its price point IMHO. Unfortunately I can't invest in all 3 platforms, so I chose the middle. I can now enjoy gaming in high definition, along with X-box live arcade if I so choose.
  16. I just bought a 360 premium for the standard $399 at Target tonight. It did come with a free copy of Ghost Recon: AW though, $40 value. Got Gears of War too
  17. TC is the most faithful arcade port to the consoles. It has the best graphics, most accurate gameplay, and all the arcades original features including the intro, intermission etc. screens. There's a bit more information and some screenshots (one Amiga AGA and two Jaguar) here. It doesn't have the Jetpack, unless someone can confirm they've acquired it.
  18. I have. Actually, if you do a search for "Total Carnage", you won't find much detail at all, except a few very vague comments that people either liked it or disliked the control scheme. No reviews. So... how about it? Where can I find a detailed review? I started a thread about it when I first played it: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...l=total+carnage You're generally correct though, other than some initial jibber jabber shortly after the game was released, there hasn't been anything of note posted about TC here. There was actually alot more discussion about it BEFORE it was released. It's one of the best Jag games IMO, I recommend it.
  19. For the first time and I've owned the game since it was released. For some reason I always got frustrated and gave up, but not today. The ending was lame, I'm disappointed. The last stage was a total pain in the ass, I feel cheated for not getting something more at the end, like a special car or something.
  20. I'm guessing that the PSP wouldn't have this game without Sony's permission? Make up your mind, people! Do you want Sony to approve games like this or not? I think it would be pretty damn funny to have people ranting about how Sony hates gamers because they won't let a math game be released for the PSP. I have no problem with games like this on the PSP. But I do think it's funny that the PSP was going to take handheld gaming out of the ghetto, then follow the lead of the boss pimp. Hey, the games are there. Under Nintendo's reign, handhelds have more or less become a dumping ground for crippled, low hardware performance games. Calling something a "portable game" is more or less an insult. It implies something with extremely shallow depth, poor 2D graphics, and usually geared towards the 8 year old in the back of the car. This post proves that the PSP is about image, not about games.
  21. I'll bet EB employees are programmed to respond to critique with "it'll be more expensive on Ebay dude"
  22. What? You LIKE Jaguar games? That settles it, you're just a moron, an idiot and a complete buffoon who shouldn't be allowed to reproduce, for the better sake of humanity. Meh, I'm not really settled on a score for this one. How about I say it's just average, and the CD version is preferred? I don't think it sucks though, but I'd rather play a similar game that's better all around in Battlemorph or IWar. Just my opinion. You know, I agree here. It gets bad reviews simply based on the fact that it's a Mortal Kombat ripoff AND on Jaguar. Since when were copycat games automatically bad? Let's face the reality, Kasumi Ninja looks and plays like MK, which would normally be a good thing, but since it's on the Jaguar, that small fact automatically means the game must suck. Yeah, some of the character models are lame (i.e. Thundra), but I for one really enjoy the extreme amounts of gore, along with the silly fatalities. Good boss models, and unique power ups. Could have been alot less dorky without the cut scenes. I don't like either of these at all. I agree with your point though, most reviews for our Jag games are bupkiss, but that's in the past. Doesn't stop me from enjoying them, nor should it anyone else.
