  1. You're the MAN Goochman! Excellent work my friend! Yes, I had your Temple of Apshai .ATR freeze on me during load, but I tried the working .ATR I have of ToA alongside your CoR disk and your copy of Curse of Ra works great using Altirra 2.40! I will try it on actual hardware when I get a chance. I'm glad you found that the Atarimania zip only contained the .CAS and .ATX files. I had overlooked that during all of this. I will try to get these files uploaded to Atarimania soon. Until then, I am attaching the working .ATR I have for Temple of Apshai. Thank you so much for coming through on this! Cheers Temple Of Apshai (v2,b).atr

...This is what happens when a BASIC type-in, doesn't quite work out the way it should!

  4. This looks really cool! Keep up the great work!
  5. If you get into old serials, you might also enjoy the Flash Gordon series with Buster Crabbe. They're top notch for the time and lots of fun to watch. Giant monsters, clay people, bridges made of light/electricity and plenty of other cheesy goodness. There were 3 serial movies all together for a total of around 40 episodes.
  6. Yes, it's hit or miss on them. Mine all make a screeching noise that seems to overpower the audio data. Errors on all of them and zero luck with CAS2WAV
  7. I can't say for sure, since I don't have it, but I don't believe it does. The Keys of Acheron disk was released later down the road than Curse of Ra and it didn't have any form of protection. It would be great if you could get an ATR file of this! This would be great too Tempest! I tried using CAS2WAV to no avail. I think my tapes have all degraded. Was happy my KoA disk was still working after all these years.
  8. Some of those I shouldn't actually get credit for, as I found them online. I did edit each photo and spent several hours doing it, but still. Credit to original scanners, if they ever read this! I've been trying to get the Epyx adventure/rpg games complete at AM's site, so they can all be listed and available at one single site for a change. I've scanned all of my titles and hunted online for any missings. I think all I need to scan now out of my collection, is one of the monster reference cards for Crush, Crumble and Chomp. I did finally manage to upload my Keys of Acheron .ATR to Atarimania and expect they'll upload it sometime(hopefully soon). It took a while for me to figure out how to use the MyIDE-II cart to do it, but I managed and the file works great in both emulator and Atari hardware! I'm shopping around for a Curse of Ra disk I can upload as well. I have the Cassette, but I think it's worthless. If I can save the data and make a .CAS file, I'd like to for archive sake, but not sure it'd work alongside an .ATR anyway, so .ATR is my first priority at this point. I think once they post the KoA disk image and if we can find a working .ATR for Curse of Ra, that'd be ALL of the Apshai games for the Atari 8bit computers. Manuals, disk images, etc. If you want to snag the KoA disk image before AM posts it, it's available here Cheers
  9. DoctorTom asked me to join Team Celtic, so I will be holding the flag for Scotland! Here are my current scores: Skiing 0:31.93 Speed Skating 0:24.2 Ski Jump 175.5
  10. Steve is a legit dude. Took me about 4 weeks to get my flash cart, but it arrived. Just give him some time.
  11. No problem Bally! Just glad to help out I successfully got an ATR of The Keys of Acheron on my PC, but with the holidays and all, haven't been able to verify it's working yet. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to check it and, if it's a nice working copy, will upload it to Atarimania as well. I have Curse of Ra, but it is a cassette and I haven't been able to make a successful dump of it yet. I think the tape might be too degraded. It's sort of a pita working with cassettes! I really prefer disks. Hopefully I can eventually get a disk to work with. I'll continue to hunt. Happy New Year! Centurion
  12. Just ordered Dungeons & Desktops! Looking forward to it!

  13. Making some excellent progress on this! I just finished uploading complete manuals of the following games to Atarimania: Dunjonquest - Hellfire Warrior Dunjonquest - Danger in Drindisti Dunjonquest - Morloc's Tower Starquest - Rescue at Rigel Starquest - Star Warrior Temple of Apshai Trilogy (complete manual for the "trilogy" version!) So hopefully we'll see those posted online soon! Also, I got my new 1050 drives and was able to backup my KoA disk and dump it to MyIDE-II flash cart. Now I'm needing to learn how to get it onto my PC. Might need to re-dump it, because I think I need to create an image partition on the cart. Wasn't able to find the dump on my PC... But, it's moving along and once I get it and verify it works with Hellfire Warrior, I will upload that disk image to Atarimania as well. That completes all missing manuals for the Dunjonquest and Starquest "manuals" at least. Once I get the KoA image I will check to see if any other disk images are missing. I believe once i get that, the site for both series will be complete! Happy New Year! Centurion
  14. I find it odd that the Dunjonquest series isn't readily available on archive sites as well. Right now, I'm trying to do just that, but they're somewhat rare titles to try to track down and also, finding working copies doesn't seem to be very easy either. I submitted the manuals for Curse of Ra, Upper Reaches and The Keys of Acheron to Atarimania, but there are still several titles I don't own and that seem to be missing from there. Time will heal it's wounds I can't give you a very thorough answer to the ATR vs ATX, because I am new to the A8 world of computers. From my understanding, ATX is a format that is being used by more and more archivists for exact image copies of copy-protected disks. I am unsure if The Keys of Acheron has any form of protection, because my drive died on me during my initial disk backup. Maybe that's coincidence or maybe Epyx devised a drive-killer copy protection scheme I will find out when I get my drives in the mail soon. I assume I will be able to make an ATR file of KoA, but I will need to learn how to do it first and without drives deciding it's time die in the middle of all that. I am planning on using MyIDE-II for the A8-to-PC file transfer. Cross your fingers it all goes well Cheers
  15. Thanks for the tip on the Holmes CD's! Downloading these now. Well, I ordered 3 disk drives, so hopefully I'll be able to have one of those last long enough I can copy Keys of Acheron to add to the archives. It's just an expansion to Hellfire Warrior, but I haven't found it available anywhere yet.
  16. I'm so glad you guys are working on this! Hehe. I started working with my 1050 drive tonight to hopefully backup my Keys of Acheron disc to eventually throw to the community, but during my copying, my drive seemed to mess up and now the drive doesn't seem to be working properly! It's a new purchase from eBay and was working great for a few minutes before this. I created a Dos backup and formatted a disc to use for my KoA backup. Hmmm... Now what my 1050 is doing is the drive read light is coming off, then on, then off, but it's not writing, even if there's no disc and i power it off and back on, the drive read light comes on and off over and over again... Arrrgh! It's always something!
  17. I would like to find good disk images of these games also. I have the first Apshai trilogy, but they're all on cassette and I haven't had any luck using wav2cas yet. I think the tapes are just too old. I also have a working disk for Keys of Acheron, but haven't had the time to figure out how to get it dumped with MyIDEII yet. I scanned all my manuals and submitted them to Atarimania and as soon as I find any other old Epyx RPG stuff that's not on that site, I'll submit those as well. Hopefully someone will get to it before I do
  18. This looks cool! Hope you stick with it
  19. The grommet's not a bad idea either
  20. You might be able to clean the hole up with a dremel. That's what I'd use in your case.
  21. Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you AtariAge for being such a great community!

  22. Created my first blog entry! Weee!
