RetroTINK 5x-Pro: overkill for a UAV-modded 2600? https://www.retrotink.com/product-page/5x-pro

Cat's been missing 3 weeks now. Looks like he's finally gone. Did well enough to last 18 months with a disability after his aneurism, or whatever it was.

Getting ready for another tornado ...

What Atari VCS/2600 game do you never get sick of playing? I could play Dig Dug daily for the rest of my life and never tire of it.
-
Waiting on 3 packages from USPS. First one was shipped 3 weeks ago. Last one 2 weeks ago. :(
I don't trust them anymore.

So I click on the Discord icon above and it just says
AA: "You're already a member of the server." but no where do I see a place to actually go to it for chat. Nor is it coming up in my actual Discord app.
Me: that's nice dear... but wtf -

Since you're already a member, you can log into Discord and the server should appear. Unless I'm mistaken the Discord link on the forums homepage on AA isn't a link to Discord per se, but rather, is just an invite link in case you aren't on it already. Then you can go to Discord proper and hop on. (I may be mistaken but this is what I think is going on. I just tried it and the same thing happened to me).

Winter storm coming into the Northeast! Better get an extra round of Chopper Command in tonight in case the power goes...
-
@Atarian7 Oh no! I'd be pretty annoyed if there wasn't any discernible reason for it.

@Atarian7 Only about half a foot, bu the last round of storms we had in the summer knocked the power out twice in two weeks since so many trees are near power lines. Some snow would make everything look way prettier, which I guess I'll take at this point in 2020 over a night of not being able to play Atari, lol.

When a piece of software tries to be all things to all people, it usually ends up as a bloated mess of problems.

I'm making a pledge right now. It is my intention to only purchase video games in 2021 from the AA store. Did you guys see that store update?
-
I don’t see any reason for not releasing all Lynx-games on The Evercade.
These games were after all designed to played on handheld-format.

YAYAY! My adapter for the Atari is here. It works amazingly. The first game I played was Space Invaders. I had no idea about the black lines glitch on the left-hand side of the screen. Thank goodness for AtariAge because at first, I started to panic that something was faulty in the system display

Hear about the guy that was fired from the keyboard factory? It turned out he was not putting in enough 'shifts'.
-
Countdown started in the AA Store I see. :D
What's this cool looking Adventure game though, and is it for the A8 or 7800?

A clean house is a sign of a broken computer.

I just ordered the Evercade (condition new) with 10 game-carts on ebay. I got this strange feeling of strangulation & coldsweat at the import-charges, but - it’s my summer-holiday gaming project.
If my mental state survive the import-charge-shocks, I really do look forward to have a go at 122 games... (and more to come in the Autumn) - handheld’d or Flatscreen’d

I have an AV-modded 2600 Jr. and a RetroTink 2X-Pro on the way! ?

Pulp or no Pulp?

Quick question: is a bog-standard AV- or S-video-modded 2600 + the RetroTink 2x Pro the best plug-n-play solution for 2600 on my 4k TV? https://www.retrotink.com/product-page/retrotink-2x-pro
-
That was my original plan until I saw the price for the OSSC and realized the price of an RGB mod kit + the labor cost of paying someone here to do it for me... The RetroTink 2x Pro seems like a budget option even if I'm taking a hit with the quality compared to the OSSC. Thanks to you too though. I suppose what you proposed literally is the best option, I just don't have the money or the know-how (I'm guessing having someone on these forums do it would run me about $150).

There's an "excessive heat warning" here in north central Maryland. How about where you are?
