  1. Haha, well if you're a kid with some money you're more than welcome. I'm seriously running out of space and need to get rid of lots of stuff and slim down the "collection".....it's damn hard though, I get so freaking emotionally attached to the crap nonner: I'll snap some pictures in my other room when I get some stuff out of there so you can see all the other boxed consoles I've got in there
  2. Thanks guys Well how long does it take....I've been actively "collecting" since about 93-94 something. So about 15 years of buying, getting tired of it, selling, being bit by the bug again, buying....and so on
  3. Update: I've finally started packing up all the stuff I want to keep in order to make room for the things I'm going to sell off. In the process I've been taking pictures of everything to make sure I've got it all documented. Since I'm up to over 2000 photos there's no way I can put them up here so I'm uploading them to photobucket so that everyone can have a look if interested. More pictures will be added more or less every day in the coming week. To see all the images click this link. When clicking the link you'll get to the album called "Collection", on the left side you see all the different subalbums. For example you'll find an album called "Atari" and under that one you'll find "Atari 8bit" and under that "Software" and "Hardware". Enjoy --------------------------
  4. You truly have got to be shitting me?!? I can't think of a single n64 or PS1 game I'd rather play above more or less any game on the DC. The N64 and PS1 has got to be the consoles that aged the worst of all time, playing an N64 game has always been like playing with plasticwrapping over the screen and it sure as hell hasn't gotten more tolerable over the years. Most PS1 games are just plain painful to play nowadays. My DC on the other hand feels almost as fresh as when I first bought it and it has loads of truly great games.
  5. Yup, SegaSammy Holdings is still alive.
  6. Let me be the party pooper then. I'm quite sceptical since there's nothing to be seen about this on any of Segas sites and also Rieko Kodama became President of Sega Corporation....that's news to me anyway. So no, I wouldn't hold my breath. Edit: Oh and last time I checked Hiromichi Tanaka was Senior VP of Sofware Dev. at Square, not CEO, but I could of course be misinformed.
  7. Well I've had the same problem in W7 with screwed up colours in full screen mode. I have no solution but I have a workaround. Start A800WinPlus, Go into the taskmanager "processes" tab and shut down the "explorer" process, this will kill the "framework" of W7 and you can then turn off the taskmanager and alt-tab to the emulator and go into fullscreen mode. Works fine here. When you're done playing, bring up the taskmanager again and go to File/Run and put in explorer.exe presto, everything's back to normal.
  8. It's usually great fun and I'm sure this year will be even more fun than previous years I'll be sure to post pictures when it's all over!

  11. And nowhere in my post did I say that the find wouldn't have fit right in to the thriftfinds-thread. All I'm saying is that by belittling the finds of new collectors and by telling them that their find is not worthy you're taking an elitist stance which I find hard to stomach and that can only serve to drive new collectors out of the hobby. We should not alienate the new people coming in to the hobby by making them feel bad about their finds, we should welcome them and try to steer them to the right place of posting by being nice and we should not crap all over their finds because we've had better ones ourselves. I've had my fair share of really great finds but when I was just starting out I wasn't very aware of how much stuff was worth and probably overpaid for a lot of the early stuff I bought. What it comes down to is: Be nice to the new people coming into the hobby, be happy for them that they've made a find that's a bargain in their eyes. Help them out by nicely telling them that "Well it's great that you've made a deal that you're happy with. You probably could have done better by checking AA first but as long as you're happy....." that's all
  12. It's quite interesting that you were able to decide it wasn't worth reading without reading it. Whatever, keep being a dick to people starting out collecting, that'll probably get more people into it I'm sure.
  13. Yup, great responce as expected. I find it equally amusing everytime someone responds with "I didn't read most of it". It can't be easy to have the attention span of a golden retriever, not much of a reader are you? About me pm'ing you or Stich about my finds, I'll be sure to do that as soon as hell freezes over.
  14. Ah yes.....well I'm truly sorry that I offended you by bumping a week old thread to give my input. I'm such an asshole. Let me start by saying I have nothing against Stich or most any other people on AA, most of the people here are very nice. I have been seeing Stich's threads pop up everywhere in the last month or so and I have no problems whatsoever with that, he's free to write and I'm free not to read if I'm not interested. So you think my little "outburst" was over the top huh? Well, let me try to explain what my problem is with this thread. My problem is that a new member who's probably not been collecting for very long comes in here and wants to tell everyone about what he/she perceives to be a good find. Some of you immediately feel the need to tell him "heeeey that's not a good deal, you shouldn't have made your own thread bla bla bla". kroogur and the.golden.ax were the only ones telling him/her that "hey if you're happy it's a nice deal for you". You and Stich however felt the need to act like "we are the collectorgods and we decide what's a deal worthy of its own thread". Yeah there is the thriftfinds-thread but first of all, this is a new user who perhaps have not yet grasped what posts go where, and secondly you'll have a hard time getting someone to comment on your finds in the thriftfinds-thread. So Joe1507 created what you feel to be an "unworthy" thread? Well, why not tell him/her that in a PM in stead and if you truly feel the need to do it out in the open I really can't see how hard it would be to write something like "glad you're happy with your find, perhaps it should have been posted in the thriftfinds-thread. That's where we post most finds if it's not something truly special". That would have been nice but in stead you decided to inform him/her that his/her find was not worthy and then Stich told us that what's worthy on his mighty scale of what is a good find would be HIS $20 dev PS1 or Mike's Apple IIC. That's nice.... Now all I need to know is who to submit my finds to in order to make sure that they're worthy. What you don't seem to grasp is that when you're a new collector just starting out you don't want people to tell you that your finds suck because all that will lead to is that the new collector finds collecting boring and his/her fellow collectors to be assholes. Now when I started collecting there were no such things as AA and after reading this thread I'm pretty glad there wasn't since it probably would have meant I'd have stopped collecting before really starting. The reaction to my first finds would probably have been "ooh man, $10 for an Atari 800, I guess that's ok but not worth mentioning. Yeah an ABC80 is kind of nice but not worth mentioning". That would have put me off collecting real fast. What is a find and not is to be found in the eyes and minds of the buyer, nowhere else! So Stich got a dev PS1 for $20? Nice for him, I don't give a flying fork since I think PS1's are about the most uninteresting piece of crap in the history of man, but like I said, is Stich happy? Good for him. Did I post in his thread telling him that I thought his find was a piece of crap not worthy of its own thread? No. Why not? Because if you don't have anything nice to say, keep your f**ing mouth shut. It's also nice to see that you add insult to injury by implying that Joe's "judgement isn't what it should be" and that he "simply lack some common sence" and therefore needed to be put straight by you and Stich, give me a f**ing break! Yeah, Stich was simply stating his opinion on the topic at hand and I am simply stating that his, and your, opinion is elitist crap that only serves to drive collectors away from the hobby, nothing else. Your comments about hormone imbalance and sand in the bikini bottoms is just juvenile, pathetic crap from someone who's lacking in the grownupdepartment and not even worthy of a responce.

  16. It's nice to know who to ask whether something warrants its own thread or not. I'll be sure to make a mental note of that so I don't post something by mistake that will not live up to your standards. Perhaps the AA rules should be amended so that we all know who to run our posts by before submitting them to the forum? Just so we don't get anymore of these threads?
  17. Please be aware that some games released in Germany and France were localized and are only playable in German or French, no English language option is available. I don't know just how many games this was done to but I do have in my "collection" a french Tomb Raider....(can't remember which one right now) and a german Rainbow Six.
  18. Thanks for the reply! I googled it and found that Digiplay was brazilian but haven't been able to find anything on how hard to find the Digiplay INTV II's are as compared to the Mattel version.
  19. Yeah just curious, I bought a load of stuff recently and in one of the boxes I found an Intellivision II. Upon closer examination I found it to be the Digiplay version. What I'm wondering is if these are hard to find or just as common as the "original" INTV II? /Troop
  20. Yup, I'm pretty sure I've got one of those. At least I know I've got the "box" for it since I saw that yesterday and I'm pretty sure the grenade's in there I remember the outcry in swedish computer mags of the time when that monster was released. Very funny
  21. I'd say the Bangai-O: Prize Edition. I don't think the SegaGaGa boxe set is as desireable to people, I bought mine for less than $100 a couple of years ago.
  22. Just thought I'd chime in on emulation on the PSP, I've had my PSP CFW for almost a year now and I'm enjoying the hell out of it! I'm running Atari VCS, A7800, A8, Intellivision, Colecovision, SNES, MSX, Megadrive/Genesis on it and all work great with only the SNES emulator not being 100% full speed all the time. Great machine though I'm not playing it the way Sony intended
