  1. So this seems like a regular problem that many people have? It's usualy solved by a quick clean huh? :S Strange
  2. Hello there! (first post i appologise for any problems) Basically i've just started buying oldish consoles from flea markets and fixing them up (never pay more than 5 bucks). I like the fact that i have something i can play, own and display that i myself have put some time into. So far i've only done a few, 4 X sega cd's, master system, saturn, mega drive and so on. This is the first Atari i bought and i grab it as i used to play it as a kiddy back in England. Anyway i'm going on a bit. So i don;t know if anyone could help. I pick up a 2600, bought it home, grab a cable thingy converter, plugged her in. And this happened. Now im only a novice, so not getting to over technical would be dandy. I know it's hard to tell from the little video and not having a nose at the inside of the system but is this a simple regulator problem. After searching around online i've found that this might be the case. I opened her up had a nose and i note white sticky liquid all around the peice in question. Now once again my brain assumed this was either a conductor, a resistor oooooooor the whole thing had thrown up all over the gaff. I see they're really easy to replace and easy to come by 5v yeah? Any help would be great. And yup i've cleaned, tidied and wipped everything down, cartriges and contact points. (all cartridges were bought from the same guy... could it be simple water damage or mold over time, i have no others to test with and they all seem in rough shape, thats why i didn't mind turning the console on and off so much). Sorry to go on thought it best to drop all points i have found. Cheers in advance.
