First entries arrived. Thanks for your creations.
  2. Totally cool that you make use of the RAM the extensions are providing. I think that's the reason why we (all) have installed them, to make use of them. For me as a single coder it is hard to get all the knowledge, but slowly I am getting better and better...

Just wanted to remind you that there is some help needed nyd23_invite.zip
  4. Since latest ABBUC magazine is released, here is the intro for the public. I played this time a bit with PAL artifacting to get the 256 colors look. So it is best viewed on PAL machines, but it runs on NTSC, too. The color switches are main reason, why scroller + plasma are a bit slow, but I think, the effect is worth the time Have fun watching! @pouet ABBUCintro151.zip
  5. Haha. I am always trying to get everything into stock 48kB. Terminator demo was hard for this. First edition, I sent in, had less effects and needed 64kB. Then I realized a hole in memory, that I didn't recognized before. So I managed to have it still on 48kB and even more, could add 2 more effects into this space.
  6. entries, where I was envolved... simple plasm - 254b intro @pouet simple_plasm.zip 2 intros for every A8 with at least 48kB of memory: nyd23_invite @pouet nyd23_invite.zip t100 @pouet t100.zip
  7. If you use Altirra Emulator, you can use explore disc from drive menu and there you can export or import files into atr, that are compatible. Every atr should be possible, if you use emulators h: device and copy from DOS loaded into emulation. PS: there is an atr extension for total commander from mad team. This can be used, too.
  8. Ah I see. I thought you was referring to RMT ASM, that came with newer releases. There is optimizing not implemented atm.
  9. @shanti77 which version of RMT ASM do you use? Using optimized RMT ASM sources stopped working somewhen between 1.324 and 1.34 - at least for me. So I have to use LZSS for newer RMT. Latest RMT exports that direct, so it works. 1.326 and later does not work with rmt2lzss by @rensoup. LZSS replay lacks of sfx features, so not that usable for music+sfx ingame.
  10. In case you didn't know about... Next issue of new years disc is waiting for your help. Everything you did for our beloved machine that is able to put into a atr or a zip is welcome. Deadline as usual end of december 31st - release will be around 2 pm (UTC+2) in the new year. Entries may go via pm or the usual email address. I am looking forward for your work.
  11. Peter has just released his Battle of Eris to the public: ABBUC forum
  12. Of course it is so. I didn't remember of that behavior, till I looked into @matosimi's files. But when I saw it, that knowledge came back from deeeeeep in mind 🤣
  13. NOICE! 🤣 As promised I make noice, when I have tested it. Here is a screenshot from r040 version in Super Packer, where you can see, what causes not to load on A8 with DOS or similar. I think SIDE uses this (marked with those red crosses) space, too: btw, never thought that a run at file start will work on a8, but you'll never are to old to learn new things Edit: here is an .atr that should work on real ATARI - it uses xboot from @xxl bin_para_r040.atr
  14. I have no side, but I have an 600XL with U1MB and a fujinet and Sdrive2. Tomorrow I give it a try and make noise.
  15. Thanks for all the great programs and congratulations to the winners. This time there are some very nice gems to find. ... again 🙂 A big surprise for me was @matosimi entry. I am sure, if there where more levels in sent entry, it was rated a lot higher. The top three are my top three, too. Trax is technically another great production, but for me the game is a bit boring to play - but I never was a fan of TCE, so it might be my fault.
  16. Just had a session together with my son. Was a lot of fun, but we had to stop at level 16. Many many tries, but there seems one move more is needed than game gives.
  17. I did another update to Another Pong some days ago... Might be the final one, but who knows https://forums.atariage.com/topic/338436-another-pong/?do=findComment&comment=5135265
  18. @cbelcher I don't think, your plan will work with this tool. The!Cart Studio is for creating an image to burn on The!Cart cartridge only. So your own multicart has to be compatible with The!Cart if you want to have binary with this tool, that will work.
  19. Here comes another reworked version. I did some minor bug fixing and changed page 0 usage - programm sets all used space after loading to improve speeder compatibility (Just both 2022 versions!). Then, as demanded, I compiled the new version in German, too. I wanted to add another picture, but that made problems, so it's left out - maybe for ever, time will tell. Another Pong_2022_v2.zip
  20. Great work of all the people of ASMA team! Found a small "thing" There's something missing in the "red area".
  21. It seems, that ABBUC released the next issue of ABBUC magazine - at least I've got official mail with link to my download of the discs. So it's time to release the intro: find download @pouet or @demozoo
  22. Just stumbled upon this. Mark it as final. I do not plan any updates on both.
  23. This is not what I have seen. RespeQT works well with my SIO2USB AtariMax device. Only problem is that there are issues in RespeQT build 5.x that are 'damaging' The!Cart, so I am not using it. -> Those Problems are in RespeQT, not the hardware.
  24. Off course, there are demo effects that can be well transported into games for the A8, but many times it just runs well on the demo screen you are watching.
