  2. yay! the chips came in today. it worked all the keys work!! . the cassette recorder works just have one peice of software. however the disk drive does not. its like there is no drive at all. it does not attempt to read a disk, does anyone know what this might be? its a 1050
  3. well i swapped the 2 chips they must be bad because the break key doesnt work now lol. the new chips are on the way hopefully they solve muh problem...
  4. welp could not find any replacments lying around so i got some ordered. they ended up being like 3 bucks with shipping so not so bad. i will try swapping the 2 around to see if i get any changes. the keyboard has been unhooked and plugged back in many times now lol. when i first took it apart oxidization or corrosion were things i was looking for but it seems to be really clean inside for its age . i was aslo wondering if anyone knows details on the 48k ram upgrade? i read that there was some soldering to do. not an issue for me just need to know what..... lol and does it use the 16k board with new chips or does it require a new board? Thanks Again For The Help So Far ! i hope to be in need of some software soon , and i want to find a good use for it. i dont like just looking at muh old HW it needs to be running... still plenty of cycles left in this old cpu
  5. woops yeah a 410 program recorder thanks for the info tho ima look see if i have any thing here to replace them with if not i will order them online thanks again i will update as i go
  6. Hey, well here it is. i picked up an atari 400 with a 401, 1050, and a 1025 all for $40 at a local store. heres muh problem it works so far but i cant use it lol. the keyboard dose not work the system reset and break keys do. well i looked into it and well the keyboard does work i tested it with my multimeter cant say all keys do but more then the 2 that work when its fired up. so the next thing i did was look into it more found that the pokey chip did most of the workins on the kb. well i figured it was bad so i pulled out the 5200 i had layin around and swapped the chip........ still no go does anyone have any ideas on what else it could be??? i would love to get this thing working again ive always wanted an atari computer now i have one but it needs some TLC! Thanks
