  1. So far so good with installing Windows x64. And Snappy Driver was a big help with installing all the drivers. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. But can I somehow use many different stand alone emus with Emulationstation? I really love it's GUI and skins. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for all the feedback, guys. I know that there are more powerful options for cheap, but I got this thin client from a friend as a gift, and I am always fascinated with how far older/cheaper PC's can be pushed. Once I get my male to female SATA cable to utilize a 2.5" HDD, I will start my build, then let you all know how it works out! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. Yea, you are probably right. Is there a way to make a leaner version of Windows 7 (probably 32-bit)? Also, will increasing the ram to 4GB be of any help? Finally, would you reccomend Retroarch for most systems? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Then I will install LUbuntu + Retroarch + ES Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. Osgeld, Yea, I am considering Lakka with ES on top of that, but how would I install ES once Lakka has been installed? My initial though was Lunbuntu + ES + RetroArch, but I really don't have to much time to spend hours on end configuring everything. My thin client has a Radeon HD 6320 GPU built in, so it should be able to hand PSX and hopefully N64, and maybe even Saturn. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. I will probably go with Windows and just run Emulationstation as a frontend. I just want to extract and combine the contents of these IMG files, and have an internal 2.5" HDD. It is physically a thin client, but I know it isn't any more since everything is local. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. If I wanted to combine multiple images, all I would need is to extract the games and artwork from them? Or do I need to do something else in Emulationstation? I appreciate your help! I have been mostly an Origina Xbox fan as far as retro emulators, but wanna finally dive into emulation on a thin client. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Youxia, I installed Linux Reader, and mounted a .img, but where can I find the games and artwork? So many folders say there is nothing recoverable. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. I guess a good question is, would I gain any performance shoukd I choose Linux vs Windows? According to my reading, Emulationstation is on Windows, so if I don't really lose performance by going the Windows route, I will do that, as I have no Linux experience, but if I can gain performance by using Linux, I have no problem learning Linux. In any case as far as storage, I would take out the included 8GB SSD, and replace it with a 2TB 2.5" drive via SATA male to female cable. I would also increase the RAM to 4GB.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I am not that worried about N64, but I figured since Original Xboz runs N64 pretty decent, why not give it a go with my thin client? I would be happy if arcade, PSX, and other 32bit/16bit/8bit systems worked well using Retroarch. I have no experience with Linux, but I was thinking of going the Lubuntu + Retropie route, as I have read that this would be better than Windows (and even though Emulationstation is on Windows, isn't as up to date). It would probably finally get me learning more about Linux. At very least, I will probably add another 2GB of RAM.
  12. Ok, fair enough, but what would be the best course of action to install Retropie/Emulationstation on this thin client? Also, how can I extract the contents of many of of the Raspberry Pi 3 .img images ? Also, check this link out where someone turns this thin client into a gaming PC: https://youtu.be/hOLf7yJ8oB0 Looks like it has some good horsepower!
  13. Please delete. Sorry for the double post! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. I got fed up with Raspberry Pi 3B and it's poor performance with N64 and PSP emulation. I just got a Dell WYSE Z90S7P thin client from a buddy of mine after an upgrade. Here are the specs: Chipset: AMD G-T56N CPU: 1.6GHz GPU: Radeon HD 6320 RAM: 2GB PC3-10600 SSD: 4GB Flash It seems to have a lot of potential due to it having plenty of expansion options, and I have seen a couple of YouTube videos as far as it running Windows, but I would really like to run RetroPie/Emulationstation, since I love the interface and themes. I was wondering what would be the best distro of Linux, and the best way to install it? I also want to replace the 4GB SSD with a 2TB 2.5" HDD via the SATA via a male to female SATA cable. Finally, I have several .img files for use with Raspberry Pi 3B/3B+, so is there a way to extract the games/emus/artwork for those images for use with this thin client? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. I do both emulation and actual systems. Sometimes, I will play emus on my Original Xbox, other times on my Raspberry Pi3. When I am feeling really nostalgic, I use my SNES or RGB NES on my Sony PVM. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  17. What a same. I was gonna order from him, since I will be getting a PVM soon... Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  18. I'm looking forward to this. My Jaguar + JagCD needs some love!
  19. Pardon my ignorance, but I just dug out my Jaguar and Jaguar CD after getting a Sony PVM-2530 recently. I don't have a Skunkboard, and I know they probably will not be made anymore (the only hope is is I hope a future Everdrive), so what are my options for playing some Jaguar homebrew on my setup?
  20. I considered MVS multicarts, but between them all, not all games are covered.
  21. DO: Make a video of you testing (if applicable, like electronics) the item(s), viewing it at all angles, show the current date and time on camera, and of you boxing the item(s) on camera, and show the buyer's address/shipping label on camera, and finally, show on camera the ad or auction (including description, ad or auction ID, etc). I always narrate on camera, and I make sure to say what my screen name is, what site the item was sold on, the buyer's screen name and address. I have a tripod with cell phone atachment, so I can be hands free during this process, and I have it in front of my computer screen, showing my ad or auction, and a clock with date somewhere on screen. Finally, I upload the video to YouTube, and the name of the video is usually the item description, or ebay auction ID, and I offer a link to the video to the buyer. I have been able to have ebay or PayPal claims go in my favor using this process, for those trying to claim that item(s) were not as described, because there are way too many scammers. It sounds excessive, but you have to CYA, since PayPal and ebay puts the burden if proof on the seller. By the way, I also do unboxing videos in this same fashion when I receive items from anyone online - even Amazon or other online retailers. P.S. - in the case of ebay, now that a buyer can return an item within 180 days (which is absolutely unfair IMO, since anything can happen to an item after the buyer has it), be very diligent about the tracking of your package, and as soon as it is delivered to the buyer, inform the buyer to leave you good feedback ASAP, then (correct me if I am wrong) they can't later make a claim against you.
  22. I would like to see some screens shots using your setup when you can. I have a Sony PVM-2530, and XC-3730C (both CRT), so I am curious to see the quality on an HDTV. I take it there are no scanlines? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  23. @chicgamer, What display are you using? Got any screen shots? PC Engine is awesome in RGB! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  24. Is this mod compatible with the Atari 2600 expansion module? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
