  1. Deleted my Twitter today. Had it for a few years and found it to be a mostly useless waste of time, just like facebook (also deleted some years back).

I've pretty much unfollowed everyone I'm friends with on Facebook just because everything seems to turn political. At this point my feed is 99% gaming groups and businesses I follow and 1% friends and family who don't post political/current events stuff.

I only use twitter to follow some soccer (football) pundits. 3-4 years may have passed since I was last on Facebook. Not sure. To those that know me, if they can't be bothered with an email or pick up the phone< i can't be bothered in return.

That's what it comes down to really. If you can't email, call or text me, you aren't really my friend. Plus the politics and keeping up with the Jones/ego stroking is just too much.

      How to Frame a Figg

A comedy staring Don Knotts. He’s an inept accountant who’s framed for embezzlement, & he must get evidence against the real culprits from the city’s new computer.

For other lighter fare,  FREE GUY,...Ryan Reynolds thinks he's alive but finds out he's a video game character.  In theaters Aug. 13th.  Though if I were a betting man,  I'd say it may end up on Disney+, say, as early as 45 days later.

Leaded gas was wonderful.  Bright blue, glittered in sunlight, smelled and tasted sweet.  The 400, 426, 440 motors ran beautifully on that stuff.

      GoldLeader

Tough question, but I suddenly thought of the smell of a record store. (Probably save2600 is rubbing off on me)...Maybe Skin Bracer after shave,  I think my dad and I would get that at Christmas, but I still have that :) I don't use it often, but it's awesome.

I LOVE Deadly Towers!!! Not joking at all. Never understood the hatred for this game...Is it just because it's hard to beat? Doesn't matter to me. I find it very fun to play...A little rough around the edges, sure...But I get what they were going for.

    4. DoctorSpuds

      DoctorSpuds

I would say my main gripe with Deadly Towers is the lack of checkpoints. Once you die it's back to the start, and it's a long game... I have beaten this game both with and without savestates, Please play it with savestates. Also those mazes are pure BS.

I've been waiting for OLED tech to work out all the kinks before upgrading. I was feeling some pressure until I realized I could do 4K DSR gaming on a 1080p monitor for essentially the exact same effect as I'd get on a 4K TV, so I'd rather wait for the perfect display now.

As for the PS5, if it had the emulation support back to PS1 and the ability to play CDs as well as DVD and Blueray, I would have been in line for it.

No doubt; if the PS5 played PS 1-4, CD, DVD, Bluray, and 4KUHD discs i would have been lining up for it also.  And would have sold my PS1234.  But alas they only care about getting new business; so i'm out.

  13. I'm still not convinced the Wii has any better graphics than the Gamecube. Feel about the same for the Wii U/Switch. I think Nintendo's new consoles are more about form factor than pushing graphical boundaries in any meaningful way..

I was interested in one for a few years, and finally broke down last month and bought a system and Everdrive. It's definitely worth it. There's a great deal undiscovered gems for the system, especially the Japanese titles. Also there's some good really easy to find ROM sets so all you'll have to do is download and enjoy :).

It was Winter of '82 I believe, but it wasn't a clearance, just an insane in-store sale....G.A.M.E.S. was more well known for their mail order IIRC, this was just a crazy promo! I seem to recall a small storefront in front of what was possibly a big warehouse operation.  It took all of my spending money to buy it but I was happy!...Been a long time though, and my memory is not what it used to be.

A second that had the RROD but never got around to fixing and a third "Elite" that I bought new but which I've since had to swap out the hard drive - replaced it with a standard 2.5" drive rather than get an overpriced (at the time) Xbox 360 drive.
