  1. Thinking about it some more, besides Mind Strike, I know they're remaking/reimagining AD&D Cloudy Mountain, which is great, but I'd also like to see a remake/reskin using the early mockup artwork that was in the catalogs for a while. Maybe also Swords & Serpents - that's another one I played with my Dad for hours on end. (Until I got this letter back from Imagic, anyway: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jbellanca/28518161411/in/album-72157667192338531/ )
  2. Really hoping for Mind Strike. Played that for hours and hours with my Dad in the '80s, all the time. Still love it.
  3. Do you happen to have a link? I just won Series 1 & 2 from eBay (so wondering if that was Rev's auction?) that closed a couple days ago, and at the time I didn't know there was Series 3-4-5, so I didn't even search for them or I'd have bid on those, too!
  4. I know I’m late to the game, but are these still available to purchase?
  5. I still have mine. My parents got it for me for Christmas 1983. Still works fine, too.
  6. My Dad and I would play Mind Strike all the time. We still talk about it. I gave him an Ultimate Flashback (RaspPi) for Christmas and he was just telling me last night about how much he loved Mind Strike. The Christmas that I got Mind Strike, I remember reading (devouring) the manual in the car on the way to my Aunt's for Christmas, learning how to program Max and Gus, lol. I'd love to see a modern version of this on the iPad where I could post with him remotely on Game Center or something.
  7. Thanks so much - I now have a fully complete Ultimate Flashback now that Triple Challenge is working, so appreciate all the info. As long as we're on this topic, I have a question on one of the Demo carts, #5853 (1982-3). If you let it play, it goes through some demos and gets to basketball... then, it flashes through a bunch of title screens in rapid succession. Do you all think it just isn't finished so is incomplete, or does it need a config file to map it properly?
  8. Hmmm, guess I'll have to try to track down that 32768 byte dump somewhere... I've got the 45058 one stashed around in about 8 different places, but not the "good" one. Thanks for looking into this!
  9. I know this topic's a bit old, and this game's on the bottom of the importance list because it's just a mash-up of existing games, but I think Triple Challenge is mapped wrong. Using Config 4, it won't even load. It makes sense to me to use one with extra ram, and that maps the block switching for the 3 games... so config 2 or 9. (3's like 9 but without the extra RAM.) Funny enough using 2, it adds Reversi to the menu (Quadruple Challenge?), but the game won't load. So looks like 9 is it - BUT, chess isn't playable on 9 (or 3 or 2 for that matter, either). So, I'm guessing it needs a different config file besides these 9.
  10. I just wanted to thank Byte Knight again for his upgrade service. I got my second Flashback Ultimatized by him a month or so ago, and it came back perfect (better than new!) about a week after I sent it to him. Going to give this one to my Dad, who bought me my first Intellivision in 1981. Thanks again!
  11. I'd been wanting to make my own Raspberry Pi Intellivision with RetroPie and EmulationStation ever since I first heard about the Pi, but other life stuff just kept getting prioritized higher and couldn't find the time to do it. So, since everyone here seems to have already done the heavy lifting, I decided to get a Flashback and send it to Byte Knight for his upgrade service. Well, I just got my Ultimate Flashback upgrade back from Byte Knight a week or so ago, and LOVE it. It plays just like the old Intellivision tucked away in my closet does, with proper sounds (unlike the actual Flashback). I easily got it hooked up to home network, transferred my ROMs from my Mac, and got my ECS ROMs working as well. It "scraped" my ROMs to get the metadata info for almost all of them (minus home-brews and some random ones), including box art and other info. The physical upgrade itself seems pretty solid. Before I got it back, I was hoping that the controller ports, power, and HDMI wouldn't feel loose or flimsy, and they don't - there was clearly some good thought and effort that went into doing this. In fact, I'm so happy with it that I'm planning on having a second one done to give as a gift. Very pleased with it. I think the only thing I need to do to make it perfect is transfer the right CFG files for a half dozen of my ROMs that need them for jzintv to work (finally found them thanks to this thread: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/203179-config-files-to-use-with-various-intellivision-titles/). And I'd like to see if there's a way to change the jzintv command line for certain ROMs to only enable ECS for those that need it. I think you can do that with EmultaionStation... execute a different script by ROM... or build some logic into the script that already runs... or something...)
  12. They're now available from Dollar General online... Just picked one up!
  13. Would also make it harder to play with controllers out the back... you'd have to drape them over the top to the front, giving you less cord length. Personally I'd like to see more licensed games and a cartridge port.
  14. He'd have to have it shipped. Or, just go to the TRU across the border in Buffalo - they have them in stock now. The box is pretty light, so probably not too much in shipping cost.
  15. It's been mentioned a few times back in this thread that it's a new emulator that started with the code base from the original Mac emulator. My guess would be because it's running on some flavor of Linux.
  16. Toys R Us in Orlando FL today (Lake Mary) has a bunch of each.
  17. Funny... almost exactly the same on my bottom sticker, but slightly peeling up on the left side. Not enough to bother me at all, though. Overall, I love it! My only small nitpicks are: (1) no Skiing; (2) the invalid entry buzzer sound isn't right; (3) the "Yer Out" sound isn't right; (4) Tower of Doom bug. Those are really small things though that cab hopefully get fixed in v2. I've already bought two and will probably get two more as gifts, and the overlay set once it's out.
  18. Actually, it was Intellivisionaries that got me to be more involved. Do love the Flashback though! What I'd really like to figure out is how to setup a Raspberry Pi with that USB controller adapter and the Flashback controllers, as an "arcade cab" of sorts attached to the living room TV so I can play all the games.
  19. I went to four Dollar Generals today around the Orlando area and didn't find any FB's. Guess I'll keep trying. This is the first time I've ever been to a DG before...I've never seen a more disorganized store in my life.
  20. It kinda sounded on the podcast that Intellivision Productions (or maybe atGames) may sell the entire set online... which means I'd rather get the Dollar General version with the extra baseball game and buy the full overlay set online.
  21. OK, so I know this is an old thread, but wanted to put in my 2¢ with my experience with Intellivision Swords & Serpents. My Dad and I would play Swords & Serpents in the evenings after dinner for hours - him as the white knight and myself as the wizard. Finally after what seemed like months - I was 9 or 10 at the time - we got to the final level with the dragon! But then we found out that there was only some treasure to pick up, and the initials "BPD", but you couldn't actually fight or defeat the dragon at all, no matter what we tried. So, I wrote a letter to Imagic, asking how to defeat the dragon, like the scene in the catalog with the knight fighting the dragon! Unfortunately, I don't have the original letter I sent, but my Dad did keep the letter I got in return. The personal response at the bottom of the letter, from Kathleen Boothe, answered the question: "To answer your question about the picture in the catalog: that picture is what was originally planned, however due to limited memory in the game system the game designer, Mr. [brian P] Dougherty, was unable to include it in the game. In fact, it was so limited that there was no way to even program a fight between the Knight and the Serpent and that is why there is no way to kill the serpent."
  22. Yeah I thought I heard Keith say that as well on the podcast, but it's definitely not on the list right now. Too bad, that Skiing game is so much fun!!! And the sounds when you fall on the moguls are great.
  23. I just noticed that Skiing isn't on the list... why's that? It was just a Mattel game...
