  1. it's stated that the "non ntsc" testing is still ongoing... can i assume that the final version will work fine with my UK Adman Grandstand console?
  2. hi all, i'm here on atariage cos i saw Carl's post on the vic20 facebook group about his blog on blogspot... i'm been given a Vic by my friend Victor in the near future so i've been doing a bit of homework about the various modern upgrades, which means i'm posting here to keep myself in the loop...
  3. this is the image my shirt has on it... you're probably right though, it's probably not infringing on their copyright, but considering they've currently got the begging bowl out and been promised a few million then its safe to say that they have a bit more money than you for lawyers...
  4. I did and I do... thank you...
  5. for the record, it's playing fine on my Flashback Portable (v.1.0)... i'm struggling with the inertia, but that's a problem with my skills rather than with the game...
  6. wonderful present... thank you so much, and have a great holiday... everyone!
  7. ah, my flashcart loves you... thanks man...
  8. i have nothing to add to this conversation that hasn't already been said... but i'd like to report the sad news that yesterday my colecovision* console stopped working, it no longer boots games, it is dead... and i suspect the cause of death was embarrassment... * am i still allowed to type the word colecovision or will that incur the wrath of a bellend? cloacavision mebbe?
  9. i'm keeping an eye on this thread but i suspect i'll miss this particular batch due to lack of funds for at least the next 5 weeks... however, if there's still an available slot by the 1st week on april then i'll jump in
  10. Sean, for the record, i just tried the Santa Simon rom on my card and booted it on my NTSC console, it plays just fine... so we can at least eliminate the possibility of a bad rom or a bad rom extension...
  11. still totally worth the £12 for the Pokey... it's just that i always take advantage of the "make an offer" button when i see one, i saved £2 on a 32x golf game earlier today cos it had one... why not eh using a new pokey also means one less destroyed ballblazer too, and that's never a bad thing...
  12. to be fair, $10 isn't the same as £10 (not yet anyway, although it's creeping that way after the whole brexit fuckup)
  13. i ordered my Pokey chip from this guy on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/272389556860 the buy it now price is £11.99 (with free postage) but he accepted my offer of £10 (still with free postage)... not sure what that translates to in other currencies, but pretty sure you can work it out... he posts worldwide (he's in the Czech Republic) i can vouch for his chips working perfectly, i simply dropped it into the socket on the mateos card and was playing ballblazer within seconds (the pokey version of the pacman collection is wonderful btw, worth buying the chip just for that) HTH
  14. the folder will always appear blank... so always double check you've selected the bank you actually want to overwrite
  15. the only thing worse than sitting on the pre-order list waiting for your number to come up, is having your number come up and then having to wait a further 2 weeks for payday before you can afford to pay the fricking invoice... however... 2 things... 1 - today is payday... 2 - i've just paid my fricking invoice...
  16. hmmm, it is a little worrying... i'll look into it more, but i'm wondering if norton is somehow using it to tag a drive as being checked clean, which is ironic if, in doing so, it's twatting the data that's in there... i've obviously never noticed it before or had any problem related to it until now, but i suppose the way Juan's burner works is pretty unique... (for the record, i've not had any problems with any of my other Mateos cards and i have one of each with the exception of the Gamate and earlier vectrex cards) and at least i know that my 7800 card isn't faulty in any way, so yay on that score...
  17. i'd already tried using a different computer (Vista 64) with the same results... i tried disabling Norton, same results... then, in a midst of frustration, i pulled the usb lead from the computer without going through the "safely remove hardware" routine... i swore at myself, but plugged the cart into my console anyway, and the game booted!... so, as an experiment, i selected another bank, plugged into the puter again, copied a different game over (the Dark Chambers that i was having trouble with), ignored the safe removal again and simply unplugged the usb lead, and again the game booted... i've now filled all the previous non working banks with games, and all are loading and working fine... so whatever my problem was, it seems it was being caused by something in the USB removal process... very frustrating, but hopefully this might help anyone else who has similar problems at any point... it's still very weird why the safe removal causes me problems, but i've found a workaround so i'm happy... thank you very much for your time and patience Juan, it really is very much appreciated... bobbi
  18. Thank you... test done... i took two readings, one immediately after writing the file, and the other after cycling through the device removal routine and reinserting the burner, i know you didn't ask me to do this, but i was curious... i used Ninja Golf (USA), the exact same rom file i've previously installed on a different bank and that i am still able to play... for the test, i used bank #1, on which you'd installed Choplifter before sending the card to me, so the bank worked fine up until it was overwritten... the files you requested are here... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/54gr8m93qozy3rq/AABxglFKkQM79Av1wjJFhEEta?dl=0 bobbi
  19. well, further to my problem of Dark Chamber and Food Fight not booting, i tried some others and had the same problem with them, so i decided to try games i've previously loaded into other banks and that have worked fine, and they don't work either... so it looked like maybe the two banks i'd tried weren't happy with having games in them for some reason, which i can live with, a 14 in 1 card isn't a bad thing... however, i then tried to load a known working game into a bank that had a working game on it, and that won't load either... and i tried another bank, same result... another, same result... i'm now down to a 9 in 1... so the games that i loaded onto the card when i first got it all still work, unless i've tried to write another game in any of the banks, and then the bank stops working... can anyone offer a solution? the file looks to transfer fine, like i say i'm using the same games i've previously used that have previously worked fine, i've tried multiple computers but anything i try to load now isn't working...
  20. i've found the cartridge loads games after a small delay on my NTSC console... and loads instantly on my PAL console... just the same as genuine carts... i have had trouble with a few games not loading though... Dark Chambers (USA).SG, Food Fight (USA).32K for instance... could someone else please try these? i'm using roms from the no-intro set, which don't have headers to start with, and i've renamed the extensions according to the chart, but no joy... also, does anyone have any suggested extensions to use for the homebrew titles that are out there? bobbi
  21. could i forward a motion to drop the politics, before this thread turns into facebook?
  22. Juan, i got your answer... and paypal done... i tried to reply to your reply to let you know, and got another "undelivered mail" message, so i've no idea if you'll receive it or not, but i'm reluctant to keep resending it and spamming you so i thought i'd let you know here...
