  1. I'm from Lower-Saxony and yes this model also looks quite nice. Do you play American games on a German console? And did you mod your console? -Waffeldelta
  2. Thank you for your answers so far! It looks like I can't edit my post? Then I could change the title to something that'll appeal German users to take a look at my thread. That is true, it looks like there are many Atari games out there that you put into the console and immediately you know what to do. Oh I see, I guess the woody one is on of the more expensive models? I guess I'll go with the cheapest one first, just to get into the Atari 2600. The woody 2600 looks really sexy, maybe I'll buy one later on my 2600 journey. -Waffeldelta
  3. Hello AtariAge-Community! First a small background story because I feel like that: I always thought when someone gets into "retro-gaming" the furthest someone gets back in time to play seriously is the console generation with whom he was raised up or lets say introduced him to the beautiful world of videogames. That was back when I made a distinction between "retro" and current-gen games, but I'm over that now, they're all videogames, created to make (money) fun. It was like a sudden enlightenment, I had more fun playing Kaboom! on an emulator than playing a current-gen game. A game from 1981, way back before my time, I was raised with the late snes generation and the Playstation 1 took also a huge part of my childhood. I always expected that I only could go back to the snes or maybe the nes but I had so much fun only watching videos of 2600 games, I was amazed .So I thought well, how about going back in time and play some of the games I was never able to get hand on. And well ... so here I am, registered on AtariAge to learn more from you and have fun with the Atari 2600. Lets finally get to my questions now: I'm living in Germany so the cheapest way to get into the Atari 2600 would be buying a German console (well, despite of an emulator or compilations on other consoles). Can I play American 2600 games on my German console? There are several 2600 models, right? Which one would you recommend to start with? What should I be aware of when I'm starting to buy 2600 games? I want to buy them in their original box, that's going to be much more expensive I guess but well ... that is the little collector in me. Are there any console mods which are considered mandatory in the community? Alright, thanks for your answers in advance and see you in the forum! -Waffeldelta
