  6. Just asking: what was the reason for the merging of the modern and retro "what have you played over the week" threads?
  7. NES: Dudes with Attitude Be it the standalone cart version, as part of the Maxi 15 multicart, this unlicensed NES game has its moments. Megaman X6: Screw you, I like it. Its no X4 or X2, but still no X7; maybe even better than X5. Megaman Starforce 2 Yes, it's definitely the weakest Megaman Starforce game overall. Honestly, Zerker should have been paired only with Ninja, with Saurian being paired with Pirate. Not joking, they were originally going to have a pirate aka a water element ancient tribe on. like X6 its fun to see what mechanics from the 1st game they did not screw over. its understandable that many fans don't like SF2, or much, if at all. At least it doesn't pull the exact shtick of Megaman Battle Network 4 a la making you play the main plot over and over again back and forth to get all the chips and badges. It does add some things to the plot without being much of a cut&paste of what happened in the 1st game. Though, yeah, they could have done better with certain parts of the Mu plot points, and Capcom making Mr. Hertz programs be the new destructible in-battle mystery data of Star Force, instead of like, you know, EM noise Data that could be found in the overworld since Starforce 1, or maybe some circular green or blue lights, depending on what's inside them! Anywho, I have a loose copy of ZerkerxNinja, and I intend to stick with that over ZerkerXSaurian.

  12. Quite an interesting read. Commodore BASIC, up until around v4.0 (or if not, 5.0, perhaps?) was very much developed by Microsoft (this is obviously before either Windows 1 or 2 were a thing). Thus, the standard BASIC 2.0 used by the earlier VIC-20 is the same as that of stock C64s for some time since launch. Ditto for many versions of BASIC for the 8-bit Apple ][ line with the main exception being Apple Integer Basic on the OG Apple ][ (and some ][+s' and //e units, if they had the proper language card installed for backwards compatibility). I see that after the 5 rem easy sam boot after the initial ;sam ==0801== and then went to 20 print"{Iblu}{clr} and other things after some time loading, then started using poke in the 50 part. I myself am no expert on BASIC overall, nor COBOL, nor newer stuff like Javascript, Ruby, C++, or Python. Looking at the code listing, Was this listing automated past the first 1 or 2 lines, or was there more which was manually typed, such as the chr$(34) and :poke198 inputs? Lastly, what's the main difference between low memory and high memory SAM?

  18. Yup, it sure it impressive that there is still online multiplayer on the PS3 still working. Not just the Call of Duty games, but also DOOM 3: BFG edition, some of the Battlefield titles including Battlefield 3, and Minecraft. I'm betting that it will be shut down by Sony official at earliest q4 2023 and at latest, q3 2024. Time will tell...

  24. There are better Powkiddy Products than the a66 and v90. BTW, I've heard that the companies behind Anbernic and the Ayn such as the Ayn Odin and Ayn Odin air, as well as the Ayn Loki are mostly, if not entirely, owned by the same corporate entity.. Not too sure about the Retroid Pocket company, though. As for Powkiddy, there's also the upcoming X18 and the already available A12, among other stuff. Still, I find it slightly sad that the vast majority of gaming handhelds these days that aren't the discontinued-production PS Vita, 3DS, the still-going Switch (hybrid), nor the Steam Deck from Valve, are from either mainland China or HK. I really wouldn't mind at all if Brazilian, Ukrainian, Russian, Taiwanese, SE Asian, and also South Korean (The GP32, GP2X Wiz, and a few other portable machines such as the GP2X Caanoo and each of the Odroid machines, including the portable ones, came from the latter of the aforementioned countries) hardware companies stepped it up a couple or so levels competition-wise. More variety, ya know.
  25. No, not the latter. It was more that I lacked the patience and couldn't adjust to the ways the two you bolded played, overall. Especially Assault.
