  1. (I hope that Friday evening I can set some time apart to update the installation procedure based on the latest RetroPie image as they also changed something. See furthermore a discussion with the developers of the RetroPie as I asked them to include the TI99SIM (under the condition that they have approval from Marc Rousseau who created the TI99SIM). I hope it can be included. Then only ROMS/GROMS/BINs need to be transferred ("FTP-ed") to the RetroPie and should be good to go. They want to keep the image small for distribution. https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/1523#issuecomment-225443650 https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/TI99 I am not sure how to make a small image after everything is installed, because my SD-card is 8 Gb (and I can do a disk-image) that worked, we tested it with someone else who could not get it to work that time, but I need to upload the image, which takes a few hours (and for the other person it took 5 hours to download it). If someone has a better idea, mechanism would be good.
  2. (Thanks to Ralf pointing me to this discussion). Question: Is it better to order the "A" version (compared to the "CS" version?) Like this one here is better?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TL866A-High-Speed-Programmer-USB-IC-EPROM-EEPROM-FLASH-BIOS-Programmer-with-Clip-/171474010152?hash=item27eca5c028:g:dQEAAOSwJkJWl3YF
  3. PS. My instructions are using the RetroPi image itself on a SD card (so the whole game system, including Atari, Nintento, Nintendo 64, SNES, and I installed VideoPAC as well DOS is there, etc.), it is on my TI99VIDEOS channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7jwHlQfNTAKQ9WdKORAnpA) Direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BT6eXlbO-Q (This one I just saw, here is a video of TI99SIM in Raspberry, (thus not a RetroPi image): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pm4WcbTG5L0&feature=youtu.be
  4. Hi Majdachi, Just to make sure you are following this thread with my steps (it is like 1,2,3...but still a bit technical) http://atariage.com/forums/topic/250767-how-to-install-ti-994a-ti-99sim-on-retropie-v36-raspberry-pi2-or-pi3/?do=findComment&comment=3491795 Make sure you do not forget this in step 4: cp ti-994a.ctg TI-994A.ctg (as the .ctg images are case sensitive) The FTP thing, you need to have your RetroPi be connected with an IP-address to a network (either Ethernet, or I used a WiFi Adapter to my WiFi network) then remote FTP into the retropi (For FTP program I used Filezilla) But I agree, we need to have a better way like a single image with the whole system installed (and the end-user still need to transfer the TI-99/4A ROMS, GROMS, SPEECH, etc. and the game-Roms, etc. to the RetroPi.
  5. Not sure, but I read somewhere that Michael Zapf had one and also V9T9 has one extra file (not on the repository) rs232pio.bin to print to the screen. And Ti99w (of Fred Kaal), I remember I have been using RS232 serial interfaces in those systems (not sure if the source code is available somewhere on github ? )
  6. Interested in the video!, but I do not have CAdd PC99 (I know it is a paid version) But has it been updated recently and are there some items in it we cannot do With the other emulators? (Classic99, v9t9, tisim, mess/name system, win994a, ti99win, js99er?) Or can RXB communicate/integrate also with these above?
  7. For the PC side I had to use dosbox 0.74, as I could not get The v9t9 DOS version working otherwise on Windows 7 64 bit, But it worked very well to do uploads one after the other. Vdm99 works also nice
  8. Maybe I will ask the persons of the retropie image to include the ti/sim If the creator of tisim approves it. Then it saves a lot of hassle to add it.
  9. Let me know, which steps are not clear to improve it. It were technical captures when installing it. Others managed to do it. I used raspberry pi2. Another way is to share he 8Gb image somewhere, but the issue is that all Roms are on it ... and cannot be distributed. Not sure if I can create an image without the Roms and then point where to install them (but cannot do this so soon)
  10. Hahhaha, and always wondering how come I have extra screws left after putting it back together. Re /4 I have pictures of the internals and keyboard, the pins are different, I think I sent it to Ksasrul as he helped me a lot regarding the power supply issues as they are different even For different /4 models.
  11. I have the same here beige QI (silver springs at the port at right side of the console) and red indicator and a normal beige (copper springs at the port) and a blue indicator (this one I converted into an FPGA model) but I still want to make that led (as you cannot see visually see if it is on or off), I saw the "hack" somewhere. (the silver / black has the led, but the power on/off button is a bit difficult to use).
  12. Hahaha.yeah sorry it is a rs232 of course...I was already wondering why there would be 2x diskcontrollers in the PEB, as the person wrote with yellow 3m stickers disk 1 and 2 on the front of the PEB....where the card was installed...the art of deception. Sorry. But the P card is worth it.
  13. There are two type of QI. V2.2 from 1983 cannot operate the 3rd party cartridges QI with 1981 is. Can do all. Inside hardware is different a D recognizably at the Side port with silver springs and are beige TI. There should be table somewhere last time we sorted it out.
  14. Classic99 QI389 (windows 7 64-bit) performed better, using Wireless Oker (PS/3) type controllers (and the Game Kart 512K number 4 image) Spot Shot 10.440
  15. 1st try in JS99er.net (on Windows 10 64-bit) somehow did not perform well and score was around 21xx 2nd try Classic99 QI389 (windows 7 64-bit) performed better, using Wireless Oker (PS/3) type controllers (and the Game Kart 512K number 4 image) Score: 3150
  16. I think that black "Disk Controller" might be a CorComp Disk controller (as it supports DS/DD) ? (I can check in July, my father has one) ...and the other one is a P-code card...that's a good deal for a PEB.
  17. I know that room! Good memories sync. on TI-99/4A stuff with Ralf!
  18. These might help PC file transfer link http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/TI-99-4A-PC-transfer-v1.12.pdf * VDM99 worked for most people * (I used V9T9 that time, using the DosBox, but requires a bit more experience to set it up) * There is also Hardware available
  19. I am pretty sure it is also on Ksarul 2048K game module, I like the game...but I am travelling to double check.
  20. Thank you Michael! Is it very important? (because the other 80 col. card does not have it, and it seems to work okay without these cables) What would be the behavior / risk without having these "GROMCLK and VDPINT signal" ? When I compared the 80 Col. cards, I noticed a difference in components (e.g. newer software version) and some other electrical components (but probably these have the same function).
  21. This USB to Dual D9 adapter (Atari Joystick compatible) works perfectly with TI-99/4A emulator Classic99 (the RetroPie with TI-99/4A I still need to test) and good support from Petr regarding payment and shipment. I recommend to get these:
  22. The 80-Col card came with some components soldered to it 1. power switch at the front with wiring Right 2x wires (red and black) and PCB-board has a cut/disconnect 2. some resistors ? (no clue what the purpose is, but there was 1x wire to the video-chip) We removed all these first, before plugging it in (so these were not needed to get the card to work) 4x wires in total (I forgot to make a picture of the resistors) Question: anyone has an idea why it would be beneficial ? 3. Some extra wiring and component, no clue what the purpose is Question: I think it goes into the Video-chip location, but then you cannot plug something on top of it Any clue ?
  23. Yesterday my father had the honour to get the 80-Column card to work (we removed "extra wiring" which I will put in the next message in this thread) we compared dip-switch settings, etc. Assuming that the card always worked is that my guess is that the TV (SCART / RGB) is the one that fixed it (and my VCR-SCART is not reading the signals correctly). The other option is the home-made cable (but I checked that a few times with Ralf) and I got a white dot moving (which looked like a Synchronisation problem). 80-Column card is the device at the right side (plugged into the side-slot of the TI-99/4A) and requires 5V power adapter. This 80-Col card has been adjusted with a power switch at the front. Result:
  24. >> This I have seen also, but could not find the root-cause of it.
