  2. The only item that does not work on my Geneve 9640 is a stable RGB signal to the GBS8200 device (and I have tried many other devices unless they are all having the same error?). I now have 2x GBS8200 version 5, which seems to be configurable to get a kind of stable screen and is workable, but once in a while I am loosing signal "no signal". (In the mean time I also made a Composite cable and that result in a stable output, but I cannot read the MDOS characters as it seems to be overlapping). The Geneve 9640 with GenMod v1 is working fine so far, everything works with Horizon, normal disks, RS232, etc. Question: 1. Let's assume the GBS8200 device is okay (and accepts 15 KHz) (is there an alternative to the GBS8200. I do not have SCART TVs here, that's more in Europe) I tried v4, v5 and now have the GBS8200 blue version with HDMI also does not work (split in 4 screens) or I am unlucky with all the cards I got so far (about 5x I think, I all sent them back). What can be the issue on the Geneve 9640 card itself, is there a component that can cause the "no signal" ? (I wired R, G, B, HSYNC, GND, used different cables, etc. all resulting in the same output) If there is a way to troubleshoot if there is a particular component giving this issue? (do I need to take out the chip GenMod and put it back, or the video processor ?) If the composite output is working fine, what other components are used for the RGB output to check on? (as the rest of the Geneve card works fine)
  3. I downloaded the TIXMT for ubergrom (the plop1, plop2, plop3) version (TIFILES Headers) is this the latest version or is there a newer one? (some issues I saw is if I entered from TI to PC (TeraTerm 2.3) the same letter on the same line it does not work (e.g. RR, but RTR works, if you use another letter, thus HARRY POTTER you cannot type) Also to set the colour some items do not go okay (e.g. set text colour, via FCTN-1 and 1) and using FCTN-7 and FCTN-9 returns a black screen, press again it is back.
  4. Yours is the normal adapter and it works already. The other one has 1x big PIN and I blew I my other adapter, but you can make your own with a Meanwell adapter. I did a write-up, published in Tijdingen and I think also at AtariAge.

My experience - use a +5V at least 2A adapter The CF card, use a smaller version, I use 256 MB SAN Disk (also had the case it locks-up, then I reformat the CF card and with a script put all the volumes back, does not take long, but it works), e.g. make sure you can read the CF-card with a tool like TIDIR, and eject from your PC. Check the jumpers on the card, and the switch if it is turned-on. ... and today actually after 5 years, somehow I have the RS232 finally working (with NPDSK2PC program of Fred) probably the other programs were not okay. I have 2x nanoPEBs so far okay, but I prefer the TIPI nowadays
  6. @Schmitzi / @arcadeshopper all, Guess what (after how many years) I finally have the nanoPEB RS232 working as well with a PC connection. (I still need to try the connection from a TI to a TI). (as I just made the UberGrom RS232 interface for connection to the PC, I thought maybe test this nanoPEB one more time again). no clue what the issue was, +5V / 2A power - I do not think so, also not the cabling) USB - DB9 (MALE), gender changer (FEMALE - FEMALE), cross-connect (MALE, FEMALE), to MALE plug of nanoPEB settings upload at 38400, 8, E, 1 but I am using a different progra now which might be the case for the PC connection: of @F.G. (write up is maybe not 100%, but it might help other people) I finally managed to get it to work (if I remember correctly 2 years ago, I wanted to do this, because my nanoPEB RS232 did not work somehow) and now with UberGromHDX I can transfer from a PC files via Serial to the NanoPEB (without taking out the CF-card) but then came the TIPI (sidecar) in my life, but now I am building a network with multiple TIs and had a standalone TI that needed to be networked (with a standalone 32K or nanoPEB) burn the ATMEL CHIP (the .bin file eaprom_V_UG.bin) (I only programmed the ATMEL chip, in the past I wrote a procedure for this, see the last part) UberCart-Programming-v1-Aug-2017.pdf @F.G. Start TI99HDX 9.1 (settings are for me on COM3 for the USB port mapping) 38400, 8, E, 1 and at communication status DTR and RTS are on (rest are all off) 7. start module > Editor Assembler V option 7 Utilities option 5 UberHDX it will initialise quickly and on the PC you will see also that it is initialized then for source enter SRC: HDX1.
  8. @arcadeshopper @InsaneMultitasker @jedimatt42 Maybe the other MDOS disk can be updated to include the GPL files? This MDOS 6.50 disk (1440. DS/DD) has the GPL, GPM, GPN, GPO files added, so that from MDOS you can go to the TIMODE (enter GPL from the MDOS prompt) and in GPL mode use DSK8. to load files of the HorizonRamdisk AUTOEXEC2 need to be installed on the HorizonRamdisk and be renamed to AUTOEXEC GeneveMDOS.dsk PS. you will get a command error in MDOS as I try to use "CAPS ON" by default in the AUTOEXEC to start with uppercase characters (did not get it to work yet)

Sorry I was always using DSK0. in the past works like a charm, I am happy now with the setup to transfer files in all directions (late night testing changed my mind to TIPI 🙂 (also use now network mapping on the PC to a T:\ drive to use it with TIDIR and look into files directly on the TIPI). This makes things so much easier than before to transfer files. (my last mile is to easily transfer files between TI and Geneve (now hooked up with RS232, but not sure yet how to do it and still use floppies to exchange), or buy another TIPI PEB card for the Geneve, then everything is Wi-Fi networked. I still have a spare sidecar TIPI device laying around (was wondering if it could be mounted somewhere in between the TI-99/4A and Speech / PEB Box) I read some pass through options (or splitter), but they were not working for some other members?

Kaal is a great tool to copy multiple files from a directory to a local RAMdisk, it includes the CRU addresses so that it is easier to copy multiple files between all. Same technique like you do in ForceCMD @jedimatt42 ... now yesterday I upgraded from TIPI 1.63 to 1.65 (using the U option, assuming it included 1.64?) but now I cannot copy anymore with DM2K out of a TIPI directory (e.g. 1000.TIPI.DISK.DM2K.FILE) but a pre-assigned disk still works (TIPI DISK2. e.g. 1000.DISK2.FILE) Is there a way to "roll back" to v1.63 to see if DM2K still works with the directory? Also I also saw somewhere that we need to go to a new linux-base image? @arcadeshopper Update> (just read this at the other forum): and tested it... DSK0. works like 1000.DSK0.DISK.FILE

After troubleshooting it is working now. + mounted the drive selector wrong on the 3.5 drive (strange as it looked it was working) + changed the ribbon cable, looks like it is broken - however i tried to use a 3rd diskdrive (with external power supply) but does not work. Changed the jumper to "2" = DSK3. It starts the drive but does not read the disk. But okay i have my system now with Horizon, corcomp ds/dd with 5.25 and 3.5 disk drives.

I cannot get the 3.5" disk drive(s) to work: Geneve + Corcomp DS/DD diskcontroller: * 1x 5.25" disk drive works fine (can load everything) * 1x 3.5" disk drive with @Shift838 switch set to DSK2. * and later I also added another 3.5" disk drive as DSK3. (with separate powersupply) (this drive works fine with my normal TI-99 setup (and Corcomp controller) and it can read the disks, but not with the Geneve setup somehow). When I use DIR DSK2. or DIR B: or DIR DSK3. or DIR 😄 I do see the lights go on for each drive when trying, but I get a device error Is there something that need to be changed in configurations or settings somewhere? do I need to assign letters (ASSIGN B=DSK2.) or some configuration in CYA (I see for HFDC that settings can be done for diskdrives, like read speed in milliseconds - ms) (or do Chips/EPROMS have to be changed on the Corcomp Disk Controller to work with Geneve?)

Not sure, but on the normal TI's you could do CALL FILES(1) (and CALL FILES(2), something like that), before loading larger programs and I remember with Personal Record Keeping (PRK) and Personal Record Generator (PRG) you could load bigger programs as well and some could only be loaded in TI-BASIC (and not in Extended Basic).
  22. Okay that sounds promising, will test it! How long does it take to charge batteries via the PEB, same as a charger? Depends on he Amp? (i do not want to take out the batteries when the HRD is in operation, to keep data, but do faster harging batteries with an external charger).
  23. Rechargeables. NI-MH batteries. (See picture, i saw another HRD picture which has battery holders kind of smaller fitting it together, i did not have space, but it all works now).
