  1. Looks great with the blue border! Hopefully I'm not being a pain, but is using just the lower buttons to fire a convention on other platforms? When I hold an Intv controller, my thumb naturally meets the upper button, so I expect to shoot with it. Again, Astrosmash and other games let you fire with any button / the one that's most convenient. I promise I won't ask again
  2. Yep, lowest scoring week we've had. JoeM_Intellivision is getting an Intellivision Football League t-shirt (PM sent). This is the last shirt giveaway of the season, but I've put the IFL shirt in my Spreadshirt shop so anyone who's interested can pick one up. The link is also in my signature line. Thanks for playing.
  3. Neither team could find the end zone, but the Destroyers' five field goals are enough to beat the Spartans 15-6 and give them a one game lead in the Battle Network. Intellivision Football League personnel are taking next week off, so play resumes on December 29 with the final week of the regular season!
  4. The Destroyers are trying to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the Battle Network. So far it's Destroyers 6, Spartans 3 at the end of the first quarter. HALFTIME UPDATE: It's still anyone's game, as the Destroyers lead 9-6 at halftime. 3RD QUARTER UPDATE: Both defenses hang tough, but the Destroyers get another field goal and lead 12-6 going into the 4th quarter.
  5. The Smash shut out the Sharks in the 4th quarter but managed to score only a field goal. The Sharks play spoiler and beat the Smash 22-6. Tonight's game is a big one. A win by the Spartans would create another 4-way tie in the Battle Network.
  6. The lowly 1-4 Sharks smell blood in the water. They lead the Smash 16-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. HALFTIME UPDATE: A field goal by each team makes it Sharks 19, Smash 3 at the half. 3RD QUARTER UPDATE: Another field goal by the Sharks gives them a 22-3 advantage going into the 4th quarter.
  7. Then a blue border would be perfect for GoSub. No more text & counters appearing to be at the edge of the screen. JzIntv seems to display the border in a peculair way. The left border is cut off entirely, the right shows a little, and the top & bottom show more but not nearly as much as a cartridge played on a console. Does JzIntv do this because overscan is not an issue on a computer? I had been wondering, and now seems like a good opportunity to ask.
  8. No problem. I was just alerting you to what I thought was a mistake. When two people are taking turns playing a one-player game, like Astrosmash, I think it's awkward to have to switch controllers. Very nice job on this game! Simple but very challenging
  9. The Armada come out on top in the only statistic that matters: points scored. Armada wins 20-13 to put both teams at 3-3 for the season. Two more games tomorrow starting at noon Central time.
  10. Today's second game is underway. At the end of the 1st quarter, it's Armada 10, Bombers 3. HALFTIME UPDATE: Both teams have doubled their points, and that gives the Armada a 20-6 lead at the half. 3RD QUARTER UPDATE: Neither team could manage a score in the 3rd quarter, so it's still 20-6 Armada heading into the 4th.
  11. Yes! The IFL shirt will be in the shop for anyone to order after tomorrow's games. It's been fun giving these away. Glad you like the shirts you've got so far!
  12. The Beamriders avoid a shutout, but the Mutants come away with a 26-7 victory and improve their record to 5-1, best in the IFL. Later today it's the Bombers and Armada fighting it out in the crazy Battle Network.
  13. The Mutants are putting their 4-1 record on the line today against the 2-3 Beamriders. The Beamriders have made two goal line interceptions, but the Mutants still have a 10-0 lead after 1 quarter. HALFTIME UPDATE: Still a shutout. Mutants now lead 13-0 at halftime. 3RD QUARTER UPDATE: Mutants have added two more field goals and extended their lead to 19-0 heading into the 4th quarter.
  14. Other games do that too? I guess I never noticed. My wife and I were playing some games last night, and I showed her Gosub. I was on the right and unable to play. Seemed inconvenient to have to switch controllers to take turns. Is it a big deal to make both available, as in Night Stalker, for instance?
  15. I was checking this out again last night and discovered that only the left controller is working with the game. The right controller won't start the game or control it once it's going. Hopefully this isn't much effort to fix.
  16. If you're going to edit the meta data for the games (images & info), be aware that the changes won't be saved for the next reboot unless you use the command to Quit EmulationStation and then log off and shut down the Pi separately when you're done. If you just select Restart System or Shutdown System from the Quit menu, the changes won't be saved (even though you selected Save earlier in the process). Maybe this is old hat to some folks, but I learned the hard way and thought I'd pass the info along. You can also edit the gamelist.xml file manually, but that's even more of a pain. Other than that, things are working great, and I hooked it up to my 55" TV today and enjoyed some games with the wife. I never thought it could look so good or be so handy to play. Next up: installing everything in the Flashback case.
  17. I dunno, it does kind of remind me of being on a school bus in the afternoon
  18. That's the kit I bought. Has everything I needed to get started, minus some additional cables for fitting everything into the Flashback case. Oh, and I finally got everything configured properly with game files copied over. Pretty slick. I used David's instructions, links, and files. Locating the directory where Emulation Station saves the game box images is tricky, but once you find it you can customize what shows up for each game. The path is: /home/pi/.emulationstation/downloaded_images/intellivision/yourpicturefile.xxx (although I guess you could store them somewhere else if you wanted to. I haven't found a good place that documents exactly how Emulation Station does its thing. It's been trial and error for me. It's all good if everything works at the end of the day, though.
  19. Thanks. A switch to SUDO STARTX got me going. I think I'm getting close. I'm doing the "scraping" now to populate the game menu.
  20. I'm starting to set up my Pi and am stuck on moving some of the files that intvdave has posted due to permissions not allowing it. Can someone offer up a plain English way to change them using a Mac tool? I've tried using the File Manager app on the Pi, but it won't let me change the folder permissions to let me read/write to the ones I need. I'm also connected to my wifi with a USB dongle, although the connection drops pretty often for some reason I haven't figured out. I moved the game ROMs with SFTP no problem because that folder is already read/write.
  21. I would never spend that kind of money on overlays (I've had my own printed at the Walgreens photo center and they look and work great), but I like some of the designs for the Intv Corp. games in this auction. Does anyone know the story on those?
  22. Everybody went big with their predictions this week, but only 135 points were scored. Star castler came the closest, and he wins an Intellivision Football League t-shirt just in time for the holidays. Congrats! Let's do this again next week. Send me your guess for total points scored and you could be the Week 6 winner!
  23. A scoreless 4th quarter, and the Bombers have a 27-3 victory and a share of first place in the Battle Network with the Destroyers. A lot can still happen with two weeks to go. Check the standings on the IFL website.
  24. After the first quarter of play, the Bombers are leading the Spartans 9-0. HALFTIME UPDATE: The Bombers have added three more field goals and now lead the Spartans 18-3. 3RD QUARTER UPDATE: The Bombers keep pace with another three field goals to take a solid 24-3 lead into the 4th quarter.
  25. A field goal with 3 minutes to go is enough to give the Beamriders a 16-13 win in a tight one against the Sharks. Later today the Spartans and Bombers will fight it out for a share of the Battle Network lead.
