I dunno already knew about this movie but Micro men was a movie based on the rivaly between Sinclair and Acorn computers. I watched through the whole thing, quite worth watching.

The holy grail MUST be arcade cabs. The sheer awesomeness of having an arcade in your house and how great it looks in a space makes it the holy grail.

My god, most of the cables used on that unit are standard anyways. Could be so easy to hook up. I really curious to see whats on that machine and the cart. I really hope the buyer of that machine boots it up, it MUST turn on. Could be awhile until we see another one of these pop up.

Its funny how, most of the nes games that are going for 40-50 dollars now, back in the day those exact games were hugely massproduced, shipped off to 100s of thousands of stores and were produced for almost the full console lifespan. there is certainly no short of supply, people just price em high because of "Nostalgia".

Id imagine if data was copied to a floppy and kept in an air-tight container with no moisture to speak of and kept in an air tight metal safe, theyd probably last a good 50-60 years haha. neat idea for a time capsule.

Did sega make ANY 2600 games? Doesnt look like a proto to me. I believe protos have erasable eproms with stickers over them while this one doesnt have that.

Well actually, I stumbled upon a commodore 64 with its disk drive at a goodwill for 50 dollars a while back. But i dont think it came with its cables, should I have bought it?

ohh you guys havent seen what ive been through at flea markets. some guy had a huge selection of games but they had no price tag on them, which i found odd. the reason there are no price tags because he makes up the price on the spot depending if he thinks if you actually know market value or not. like he goes on ebay and checks what the highest price for a game is (ignoring if its sealed or not) and charges fucking "shipping" when theres NOTHING to ship. so i asked him about a couple games, he was charging like almost 10 times the market value! but you know, obviously some 14 year old isnt gonna know the prices on this stuff.

also another thing, is software hard to find in the wild? other than ebay, is it common?

the main reason im asking is that ive narrowed my selection of vintage computers i wanna buy for the first time on these 2. If you guys have any other computers you guys would recommend, throw them at me.

How many copies do you own?

Nes and SNES games are so damn expensive. Most games arent even worth what they are going for on ebay. Im still kicking my self for not picking up a snes 5 years ago when this stuff was still cheap. You wanna know why its so high? All the people that grew up in that generation are now much older now and rediscovering these games now. Id call it the "wave" affect, soon snes and nes will go down in price and ps1 and n64 prices will go skyhigh because of the same reason and so on.
