Taco Bell is selling fries. Burgerking now sells tacos. KFC is putting Cheetos on a chicken sandwich... wanna bet these bright ideas came from a state that's legalized marijuana? ?

I'm back from taking some time out from AA. I had gotten quite disgusted with certain people sticking their nose into some of the off-topic threads, seemingly for the sole purpose of disrupting them and demeaning the character of those who participated in them, that I decided to stay away for a good long while.
I'm still disgusted at that state of affairs and still appalled at the way management has handled it, but my blood has cooled down significantly. And so I feel ready to come back for the good things about AA and some of the great folks here; people like you guys for instance!

What were once friends are now followers.

Apparently now you get censored for mentioning censorship.

Just switched from IPFire to pfSense for my home edge router/firewall. It's a pretty big improvement I think.
-
IPFire could do a heck of a lot; nearly as much as pfSense. The biggest reason I switched was that IPFire was limited to single thread execution. I have Gigabit internet, and if you want to keep it busy while applying IDS/IPS; single thread isn't going to cut it. But I'm finding other bits that I like better too. So yeah, it does seem to be a good choice.

@RT: I know you haven't seen it, but it is actually pretty nice. I fabricated it out of strut channel for the frame, 3/4" plywood for the top, bottom, left, and right panels, and 4 20RU sections of square hole rack rail. It is strong as hell, and has casters rated for 600 lbs. I'm into it about $200, and something on par with this to buy would be at least $600 on up. I love it when I accomplish something of quality and save money!

Well, I went ahead and switched to Linux as my primary (bare metal) OS on my main desktop rig. Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon edition. It's speedy and useful. I' love it.

For the few things that I can only do in Windows (for now), there is WINE, and for what WINE doesn't do or if I just prefer; I have a Windows 8.1 virtual machine. I took the Win 10 plunge and gave it an honest try, but it pisses me off too much for a multitude of reasons. I don't game much at all on the PC anymore, though I did install Steam and CS:S with it just to have a look see. Works fine.
As to Ubuntu... I used to use it quite a bit. (still have one VM server runni...

It's a shame there is no cure for stupidity!

I'm thinking of finally making the switch to Linux as my main OS. Undesired things keep happening with Win 10 after updates it seems.

What's the difference between 3/4 & 5/8? Dice Clay: "That's what I say: what's the f*cking difference? You're the math teacher. You figure it out.

Sometimes when I burp there's this loud buzzing noise in my right ear and it goes away in a few seconds, but now it's getting a few seconds longer some of the time.
